Can someone tell me why does people keep picking me off whatever kind of match I'm in because ever since I defeated a 5 medium bots with a griffin and won the game for our team in king of the hill all by myself because all my other freaking teamates died. Before I always get to be the MVP but now I can't even get 1 beacon or 4 kills since all the red bots are teaming on me whenever they see me. I just can't stand it because I can't even survive 2 minutes in the game.

Staying too tightly on a wall leaves you vulnerable to splash damage missiles.

Maybe already mentioned, maybe not. Seems to me it's best to have weapons higher level than the bots they're on... ...Also seems important to maintain some equality between bot levels and weapon levels. Hmmm?

Tactic for baiting jumpers:
This works in any mode really, but especially FFA.
Walk towards them. They’re usually behind cover waiting for jump cooldown to finish. Approach in such a way that if they were to jump suddenly, you could change positioning to prevent being hit.
The tactic is to simply move close to them, then walk away as if you’ve gotten sick of them waiting and have become interested in another target. As you walk away, make sure to position yourself to be able to take cover, because usually as soon as you start walking away, they jump to attack thinkin you ain’t payin attention. Haha, they’re dead!

More often than not, it works flawlessly.

Awesome thread! Newbie to War Robots, long in the tooth gamer, learn the maps (distance, vantage points), bots (HP, speed) and weapons (ranges and damage). Teamwork is critical. Without Discord or direct communication, combine arms by moving in packs. If you prefer solo play, here's my current insight:
For example, I recognize War Robots maps and game types dictate how you should deploy mechs, i.e., the sequence.
Lunar Base provides a great example: I use a 10/10 Leo to hold the center under the bridge, eliminate as many bots at point blank range (3:1), then shift to a Stalker to finish off whatever smoked my Leo (2:1); then I might deploy a 10/10 Natasha with Zenits/Noricum to support teammates I can't reach in time, and harassing fire chaos (that's all Zenits do...) and hold my spawn position until eliminated; then I deploy an 8/8 Griffin with Orkans/Aphids to eliminate bots at spawn point that destroyed Natasha.
So, I lead with a tank (Leo) and control center of map, mop up with Stalker, artillery support and harass to draw enemies (Natasha), and finish with my best heavy bot - Griffin...
I forgot to mention that you should change bots versus elimination if possible. Why advance Red, keep true and Blue...
As I see it, maps and game modes dictate tactics, but another factor is pay to play: this shapes early play until you've reached 12/12 line up of 5 bots.
If anyone can direct me to downloadable maps with scale, I'd love to workout ranges for all weapons and bots..

Do not cross in front of your teammates. I cant tell you how many times I start dumping double orkans at a red to have a blue step in front. Typicly the blue dies and Im left facing a red with all weaps empty. True. Recently I find Kumiho's hiding behind me only to pop out and take the beacon that I cleared or finish off the red. We need some ettiquete rules.

I am nowhere near being a pro but I have an important tip.
The store only displays the type of item you were looking at when you opened up the store.
For example, if you were looking at your war robot, only war robots will be displayed for sale. If you were looking at a medium weapon, only medium weapons will be displayed.
Took me a week to figure this out. *embarrassed*
Also, work with your team mates! If you see one is pinned down, provide them cover fire.
If one just capped a beacon, stop and see if they need help holding the beacon. War Robots is a team game!

when you face a stronger opponent, never stop/stay at one point or you'll die easily, keep moving sideaways,he'll miss a lot of firepower (excluding scourges and other lock down weapons)and you might survive or inflict heavy damage before dying. same when you're facing equally strong enemy.

Sorry if this one hasn’t already been stated: in Diamond league or above, running sniper or long-range misslies (Zenits, Noricums, Hydras) are a DETRIMENT to your team’s chances of winning unless they are leveled to MK2 (and in limited Team Deathmatch modes). They may be fun and easy to play with but there’s a reason why meta bots and weapons are faster with closer range.

Believe it or not. Teammates mk2 zenits in a league of lvl 8 stuff actually did quite a bit of damage. Well, just about any mk2 weapon is strong against low lvl bots

I know a great strategy for later on in higher leagues, avoid the jerks with spectre shocktrains, make them fire and miss then kill them when you can get close enough, and with the other cloaking bots like the inquisitor you should just run for cover or lock another target to become more accurate, or if you have something like a stalker or pursuer keep firming on them and go in circles around them if there a heavy bot, the cloaking bots like spectres and inquisitors are pretty easy to kill once you get the hang of it.
Good luck ?

Rule 1
Get a solid, general-purpose, 5-bot hangar to level 12 on weapons and at least level 9 or 10 on bots. Level 12 weapons trumps anything 'cool' that isn't level 12.
Rule 2
Once you have this... develop only one new kind of bot/weapon setup at a time.
Of all things, this was the hardest to realize.

When running machine guns of any sort, particularly avengers and punishers, pre fire before rounding a corner if you know you are going to be hitting an enemy on the other side, this helps proc the 3 second speed buff before you come into the open, and the amount of ammo in a mag nullifies any issues with those few rounds “wasted”

I'm not really sure if I should be a beacon capper of a killer. Can someone help me decide? Beacon capping means gold. Also, most people suck at KOTH. Problem with being a killer is that it's a long slog to the top of that heap... there's always a bigger fish.

Try to get into a clan with pro players, the clan doesn't have to be good, just need quality players, ask them for help and you will get more than enough information about currency, tactics, and etc.

Another small list...
Hide from hydras (hug walls or get under cover)
Outwit the spectres! If they jumped at you when you can go for cover then use your abilitys (unless you don’t have any) to your advantage and squash them like bugs!
For shocktrains make it look like your going to jump or walk out of cover, then if and when they use it try and attack when there vulnerable.
For sparks and scorages, don’t let them get close, ho for cover and if you are up close then mess up there targeting so they have to lock on again.
For orcans, since there a tad slower try and get them to use it up or weather through it and attack, if you can jump it usually makes them shoot unessisary rockets.
And for all of you croakers sneak as much as you can to get the jump on them, if your up hill then attack from above or below so they can’t hit you especially with orcan splash, if you aren’t close to killing them go for cover and try to hold them off while your ability cools down.
For all the rockets like spirils and thermites, if you have a slow bot go for cover, if your fast try and attack them sideways not head on or the rockets will all it you but that’s a big maybe, also if you can jump, jump out of the way so they miss you and be careful when you land or they’ll suprise you with another attack. As for useing them try and attack slow bots or stationary bots, hovers are fairly good with them since you can attack from above.
Weapons like machine guns, use a lock down gun too to make your life a WHOLE lot easier.
Lock down in general... well there’s not much to do if your lucky you can escape, and hopefully you aren’t in the middle of the enemy team.

Find your style of play. Not everyone is suited to every type of combat. Build your hangar around that. There is no one right way to play the game.
That being said, if you can find comfort in multiple roles, you'll aid your team with your flexibility. For example, I prefer midrange and lockdown play. But I can mix it up close just enough to be competent if I get put with a team spending all game launching Zenits.

Most of my deaths have been caused by charging recklessly and needlessly into battle. Wanting to help my team I consulted my lawyer about how War Robots defines "cowardice." We talked for several days before my lawyer convinced me that I will not let my team down by being more cautious.
So, I'm not a pro, but I have a lawyer. Don't be afraid to do the following. You're not betraying your team -- on the contrary, you're helping your team ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Run away from a fight you know you can't win. If you're outgunned or low on health facing a robot with 100%, don't yell "geronimo" and commit suicide
* Damage a robot before going back into hiding. Severely damaging 5 robots helps your team more than sacrificing your robot to get one kill * Pair up with other robots. If you see your teammate trying to take down a robot, join the fight * Even if your style is tanks (slow robots with a lot of health) use cover when you can. Save all that health for guarding beacons or for brawling. Try not to lose half of that health to snipers * Find cover when you're low on ammunition. If you've severely damaged an enemy robot, you don't have to finish him off * Don't yell "geronimo" and commit suicide to take a beacon. Take your fight elsewhere * After taking a beacon, if you're alone -- no teammates -- and about to face a squad, run away! The beacon will be taken away whether you're there or not, but at least you've bought your team a few seconds at no cost * With mid-range and long-range weapons, pick your fights carefully. You're not a brawler. Support your teammates. Get to a maximum range * Carefully consider if you will survive taking a beacon when there are snipers around. You might want to try ambush instead of beacon taking
Other tips --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Know the situation before choosing your 2nd, 3rd and 4th bots. Rotating the map after death to see everything can help. Is there a squad closing in on your position? Use a tank / brawler. Are there several enemies out in the open 500-600 meters away? Use a sniper or a mid-range bot and support your teammates. Is there a beacon 600 meters away and completely safe for the taking? Use a fast bot * Since there's no automatic reload for most robots, purposefully fire the rest of your projectiles for Punishers / Molots / etc. when enemies are far away. You'll be ready for battle with a full load of ammunition
* You could get 10 kills, 1 million damage and 10 beacons, but if your team loses, it's not as rewarding. The goal is for your team to keep as many of its 30 robots alive as long as possible. To that end: -- Don't get angry when a teammate accidentally takes your kill to help you. It's poor sportsmanship to purposely take someone else's kill, but maybe your teammate just wants to help you by giving you backup or cover fire. Do you want to face a strong robot and die just to get a kill, or do you want to live to fight another day with a teammate's help? -- Also don't get angry when your teammate in battle runs away and hides when low on health, causing the other robot to focus on you. You could get a kill, and if your teammate is clever, he'll come back when the enemy targets you instead. You'll both live. -- Help your teammate even if you know that you'll get nothing out of it

I've only recently discovered what everyone else knows -- that sometimes matchmaking will create a team with both of weak bots from Diamond and super bots from Champion. Or weak bots from Silver with super bots from Diamond. Of course, a weak bot cannot win a one-on-one fight with a strong bot.
So, if you're a beginner, I'd like to say again: Pair up with other robots if you're not trying to get beacons. You'll survive better against any super bots you encounter, and perhaps your partner's robot will be a super bot!

So just a few things I've learned while playing War Robots. I'm not an expert and I certainly don't know everything, but hopefully this will help someone.
- The thunder, storm, and gust line is GREAT for taking out ancile shields, even at max range. If you're running any of these weapons, look out in particular for ancilots. Your DB teammates will need help taking it out.
- If there is a fujin on your team running energy weapons and you have explosive weapons or vice versa, pair up. Their shield will protect you and you can send out a lot more damage than the fujin on its own. You also won't be as vulnerable to many common setups.
- With any small or quick robot, peek as much as possible and stay far away from DBs. This includes the stalker! Your job isn't to do damage. Cap beacons and distract enemy bots from different angles to allow your heavies to do all the work.
- Find the distance from a corner that you can stay while still being able to peek around the wall and remember it. Use that distance whenever peeking around walls so you aren't caught by surprise when a DB bot unleashes their salvo at you.
- Tall, thin structures are better for avoiding aphids and hydras than large buildings. Be aware of ceilings and overhangs as well and use them to your advantage.
- If you are low in health but still have all of your hardpoints, back up and group up, then hide behind a friendly bot while firing around them. This will help your team while also ensuring that you do more damage.
- Resist the urge to take potshots at enemy bots when they come into your maximum range. It doesn't do much damage and alerts them that you are there (This does not apply to fixed damage weapons). Close the distance first and then fire.
- When using explosive weapons on a bot without a jump drive or dashes, it's okay to play ring around the rosie. Take advantage of the area damage and avoid as much damage as possible to yourself.
- In the workshop, focus on one thing at a time, and make sure to check the deals daily for gold options that include the desired components. There is also an option to construct more than 100 components at a time by clicking on the three lines next to a weapon or robot.
- In War Robots Royale, open the first one or two cards on every option. The cards aren't actually mixed up. There's a randomizer whenever you open each one, just like the chests, and the relationship between cost to rewards is only worth it up to this point. Keep building up and saving War Robots tokens until you see one bot or weapon you really want, and use them all up then.

If you're near a teammate who has been locked down, try to push them behind cover even at the risk of being locked down yourself. Saving a teammate can be game-changing and encourage teamwork. You may even get a squad invite afterwards. ?
