Well you are making many assumptions on civil law systems such as mine that, at least here, are altogether wrong. I really hope you are lawyer or have a related degree, otherewise this thread does not make any sense at all, honestly. As you might also know, in general, consumer laws hold liable all the chain involved in the commercialization of the questionable product, so nothing prevents you in principle to sue distributors offering the product in their platforms such as itunes, playstore and the like. Another topic you ommit is the always challenging and unprecise wolrd of international private laws, which deal with cumbersome situations of applicable laws in different jurisdictions and systems. Why do you think all claims land on distributors? let's see... I do have a law degree taken in Italy with a specialization in European union and international law, I did my master in business in Germany and London writing my dissertation on russia and how the market works there (which is where all claims would eventually be adjudicated) and I work in a company with a stable office in Moskow since the early 2000s and that has done works, at one time or another, in 4 different time zones and 3 "states" there (I'm at the HQ, not in moskow, but I've seen a share of documents in Cyrillic, translated in this language or the other, big enough to be satisfied for years... have you actually ever dealt with a Russian contract?) Good enough for you? Look, I am not going to play "who's the coolerer or more qualified kid" game with you, on a theoretical issue is pointless and I don't care, but if you think it's going to be that easy and seamless, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and try: purchase for and then have them refunding you a couple of grands (less, on an isolated case, they might actually agree, as they have probably dine in the past to avoid the hassle) and let us know how it did go? I'll be waiting. PS Assuming that you sue the distributor, the situation reverses: then the judicial expenses are going to be possibly even more exorbitant in the USA and, altho I don't claim to know how it would end there, I still have my idea that, based on the EULA, the court would likely tell you to try your luck in the Russian Federation. Even if, by a miracle, yiu'd win... then what assets does Pixonic has in the USA to be seized, should they not want to pay you? Ever tried to have a foreign judgment, an American one at that, executed in Russia?

Well, I really apologise for making you that angry. I never thought people could actually take things so personal in these sort of forums. You seem to lack a degree on how to hold a mature professional conversation without getting cought into personal matters. I assume we are both reasonably qualyfied to opine (have my degree in international trade, LLM in Chicago, worked in multilateral organisms in Wash DC and so on), but you just made wrong assertions on some key features on civil law systems. You might want to refresh and undust some of your degree books. Keep enjoying War Robots which might be a nice tool to loose some steem. Cheers! (End of useless exchange for me)

(End of useless exchange for me) "Well, I really apologise for making you that angry. (...) You seem to lack a degree on how to hold a mature professional conversation without getting cought into personal matters " Well done. I would, however, suggest to have at least a paragraph, not a single short sentence, between a false apology and sarcasm, but it's a matter of style, I suppose. Also, more than a couple of posts between doubting someone qualifications and acting all surprised and hurt that someone has been less than perfectly nice in his answer would make it less evident how much trounced you were in the specific knoweledge area that you called in question in the first place. So long. PS I can't, however, but smile at someone who has been partially trained and apparently mostly worked in a common law system opining (all in vague generalities, mind you) about my "wrong" assertions about the civil law system, which happens to be the one I was trained and have been working in all my life. But I will grant you that it's a very "international organizations" thing to do. In any case, I'd be totally up discussing such wrong assertions, you can totally open a thread in the "off topic" section and I'll be there in no time.

Great stuff you two love the interaction, However for all the degree's between both of you, your Understanding of the English language could do with some work I.E. may want to use the Auto correct feature that comes with the forums. just a note and yes i see that English may be a second language but from such educated fellows i would expect a lot better than your average person!

Wrong (again). My practice is entirely in civil law system, save the specific experience in the intl organizations. My law degree too. Just my masters degree was in the US, that's why I am very susprised to read basic mistakes from someone alleguedly formed in the rosestone of civil law system. Your anger just does not let you notice that you assumed I said all claims would be easy and successful, but this is getting all too boring. If you are still in Moscow, hope you enjoy the soccer world c..... Oh, no, sorry, my mistake. Well, you will have plenty of time next year in that regard. Take the best of it to reinforce the beautiful principles of Roman Law. Ciao.

Law debate is for a law forum, this is for war robots.
