This forum is currently useless. The threads are bloated, nothing is locked, 20% of the 'guests' think it's an outlet to Pixonic, there are no sticky posts to cull the constant questions, there's misinformation everywhere, I have yet to see a mobi link for actual stats(since we face-planted keeping the wiki up to date), every story or opinion is fought, nobody answers actual questions without a severe level of bias, all the users want to be included in everything, and most everyone is a jackass.
Seriously?

Yeah, we seem to be getting a case of the "facebook syndrome".
And more mods may be needed.
It'll probably calm down after the buzz of the new mm subsides though.

Not enough mods and admins already?

I'm surprised mods aren't able to amalgamate threads, or simply don't lock multiple topics.

Sorry, I cannot agree with OP's sentiment at all. Almost everything I have learned about this game outside of actually playing it, I have learned here on this forum in the last 6 weeks since I started this game. I find it full of good company, insightful suggestions, and (rare on the internet) a willing and helpful spirit. While anyone who feels that this place is useless and negative is entitled to their opinion, I would suggest visiting the dismal cesspool of the War Robots Players Facebook group. Trolling, endless ad hominems and flame wars, loads of epeen and "look how great I am/look how crap your clan is" screenshots... then you may appreciate what we have here more. Or you may not, and prefer that place to this. It's always nice to have options. My personal mindset is that anyone can offer a criticism, but in the absence of actual suggestions for improvement then it's just sound and fury signifying little. Try making this the forum you want to see, - Exteel 2.0, instead of just complaining. The new poster above used their first post to observe your contributions. That's telling.

SNR here has been pretty good, all things considered. Certainly better than the Facebook page.
I would prefer the mods be a little more proactive about grouping the current MM issues (which I tend to agree with, mind you) into a dedicated thread in the Rants section, but administering online discussion forums like this always involves treading a fine line between maintaining signal over the noise and perceived censorship/bias.

MM methodology / discovery needs to be in general MM hangar help requests needs to be in tips / advice MM rage in rants
One thread for each would be excellent.

My personal mindset is that anyone can offer a criticism, but in the absence of actual suggestions for improvement then it's just sound and fury signifying little. Try making this the forum you want to see, - Exteel 2.0 , instead of just complaining. Aye, without suggestions it is just a rant.. The forums need sticky posts; things like the glossary, missile velocity, horizontal distance gains per Kmph for jumping bots, target leading, etc. There should be more locked threads, to avoid necro posts or simply to remove anyones ability to comment. A moderator-only thread for the sake of copying and pasting Facebook War Robots, and War Robots Test posts and replies which give direct and verified information, for example. A link to the mobi, the DPM charts/formulas, and tactis/guides, should be prevelent. (Corner shooting, circle shooting, figure8's, slicing the pie, jump spots, etc.) Certain threads should be combined, you don't need a dozen different posts, with dozens of replies, on the same subject. Certain topics should be directed to certain forum categories, recently the "unknown game variables" seem to be a big thing. You should not be able to post as a "guest" or their posts should automatically be hidden/greyed out. To avoid bloat, simply "liking" a users post can be used to say, "I agree." Maybe even a new forum option similar to the "lol" button. The nasty forum warriors need a more serious CoC. The level of flame and salt has increased a good amount, even though it's passive-aggressive. There are certain pieces of information that can be put into a "common sense" area, which can cut down redundant posts, making the forum more manageable for admins, mods, and members of the community. The community should have to verify sources on certain subjects. There are external websites out there folks. Otherwise it's just this-or-that player theory. Widely accepted theories should be made available on the forums without opinionated blowback.(How tiers came to be) Direct questions should be given more direct answers. The search tool should be pushed into commonplace usage to compliment this. The forums, imho, have become overrun. The discussions, information, and community have gradually faltered to its current state. This is me complaining, on the forum area designated for complaining, while giving suggestions on how it may or may not be made better.

- Exteel 2.0 Most folks, in my experience, respond by doubling down in a situation like this. Instead you come back with a very thoughtful, coherent, and organized set of suggestions. I tip my cap to you. I'm not a moderator here, but some of these suggestions would be on an implementation shortlist if I were. Excellent post!

With regards to he salt and flame, I haven't noticed an excess of that myself. A little guild drama here and there that usually goes out as quickly as it sparks. By way of contrast, this is from a scan today of the FB forum. Definitely what I wouldn't want to see here.

Editing a wikia takes time, patience, and the willingness to do the job solely for it's own sake. In light of all the changes that Pixo has thrown at us lately, I protest the idea that it is hopelessly stagnant. Yes, updates are needed, but please don't blast the contributors for being drown in information at the moment.
Facebook is to Hell like Forums are to Purgatory. At least here we have a chance at shaping the unending torrents of vitriol.
I wish I had more time to edit the wikia myself, but I have only so much time to allocate to non-pay-check-making endeavors. The forums are easier.

Hey Exteel, I would say that the current obstacle to fulfilling your recommendations would be the personnel we currently have onboard. If I was not currently drowning in schoolwork, I would happily accept it, however, as it stands, the amount of time I have is far less than before. In addition to this, our current mods and admins are not particularly active as well.
We are currently looking into recruiting new mods however. Please understand that we cannot give moderator privileges to just anyone, and thus, it will take a bit of time to screen our current candidates.

for old players maybe this forum looks a bit useless. but for new players who are asking for advice i can say this forum is really useful.
with regards to topics, some are redundant, same complain about clubbers and gepards. same topic over and over again, how many topics we have about gepards?
with people who post, some are helpful and some are not. my only "rant" are the posters who over react to new things, like when there will be announcement from PX about new weapon and new update. people are going crazy about the list of update, too much assumption that this (weapon/update) will kill the game blah blah blah without even doing any test or not even tried the test server. sometimes im just thinking that we have 8-10 years old posters here..

Apologies that we as mods have not responded quickly to some of the thread explosions that have happened recently. Real life has been getting in the way for some of us and the influx of new folks has been challenging to deal with.
We are looking for new mods, but are quite particular about who we get.

I dunno, I think the Administrators an Mods are doing fine. It's a message board for a mobile game, not a corporate website. I'm fairly new here, but this forum seems pretty well run/full of useful information. Which is the point, if I'm not mistaken. I also dig the non-War Robots related aspects. Keep on keepin' on, dudes an dudettes.

I could be a nice guy and: A) be silent, or B) put this politely, but I'm gonna pull the plug in this instance.
Threads like these are not what I like to see as the first thing that's appearing on my screen. You could interpret that as "well why don't we just fix the underlying problem?" Well (here comes the tactless brutality that might get me banned again) you might need to be more understanding, sir. The admins and mods here aren't lifeless robots (*coughlikestopcamping*) that spend 14 hours a day on War Robots/the wiki/these forums/the discord/the FB page/the reddit/LINE/etc, they have other things to do. Better things to do. And for most people like me, War Robots falls to near the bottom of the priority list.
So what am I trying to say? Moderating isn't their full-time job, and the community isn't exactly big enough to require any more mods. Not trying to pick a bone here, but it's a tad selfish to demand more from people who have 77,000 better things to do with their life. As far as pushing them to lock threads and d5 and e4, I'm sure it's in their (and their time's) better interests to sit back and watch opinions and the right to free speech and conversation let fly, instead of pulling strings left right and centre so people don't hear what they shouldn't hear like the walls are painted white and red.
Chill. Let the people learn like we learned. There are a whole bunch of guys like me who went through the noob-sieve process, and look how we turned out. Normal humans that play robot games that are less noob-like than before. There has been no issue with the instructing process of this forum, so I see no need to overhaul this public resource.
Farewell tact, I said what I needed to say.
I will now return to my grave to rest in peace.

By even mentioning an interest in being a moderator, doing so will usually get you taken off the list of candidates. One of those old time quotes; "The person most qualified for the job is the one that doesn't want it". This may be only some obscure free forum for some mobile game, but it's also a gathering of humans. Which means more human ambition, ego, corruption, nobility and all that there stuff like that. Picking new mods is damned hard, especially with the filter of the Internet in the way. Imagine how much easier it would be if they could meet all the candidates face to face, but that ain't happening.
Full disclosure: I've been both moderator and founder of other game-specific communities, including forums, IRC, FB Groups, etc over the decades. Everybody wants everybody else censored, but when it's their turn suddenly it's "free speech". People post useless drivel every hour, until you try to stop them and then you're a Nazi. It's a cold, calloused, tedious, and thankless job, where you get blamed for everything that goes wrong and never get credit for fixing things. No offense to the OP, I can see his intentions are good, but the start of this thread is a perfect example of 'thankless'. I wish the best of luck to the current mods in their search, and most especially luck and grace to whomever gets saddled with that millstone of a job.
Have you ever tried to herd cats?
