Long story short: I quit today, probably permanently. Im not going to type a long 「bum-bum」 story about why I quit because at this point it's old news and I am sure that people already know why I quit(not that I talk to a bunch of forum members, but recent updates has everyone pissed off).
I created this thread so everyone can offer suggestions on new games to play so that hopefully we can find a way to spend our free time on a game that is more fulfilling than Walking War Robots. The game doesnt have to be on mobile, but it does have to be either FREE OR $20 OR LESS!
My suggestion to everyone is RuneScape, spefically OldSchool RuneScape. This is a computer MMORPG that you can play completely for free as long as you have internet access! Now the f2p part of the game is incredibly small and lacking compared to the p2p part of the game(although you can still play for hundreds of hours as f2p) but hear me out! Membership costs $10 a month, however you can also BUY MEMBERSHIP FOR IN GAME CURRENCY! The amount to pay isnt excessive either! It will cost you around 3m in game gold for 2 weeks of membership, which can be earned in around 3-6 hours(or less) of play time as long as you have a half decent money making option.
Im sure that many of you have heard of this game before, because it has been around for over a decade!!! This game has been around for a substantial amount of time as far as video games are concerned, and Jagex continues to try to make it last. ALMOST NO UPDATES ARE RELEASED WITHOUT PASSING A PLAYER POLL!!! On top of this, RuneScape has well over 10,000 hours of content available completely for free if you choose to play this way! Although it is a computer game, RuneScape mobile is in the works and should be released within the next 12 months!
One more thing that I forgot to point out and emphasize is that I have said p2p NOT p2w!!! Jagex gives bans for real world trading. They want you to advance your own account the old fashioned way: grinding and playing smart! The only money I have spent in the past decade of playing this game off and on has been on membership. For half the price for a movie ticket for an entire month of content, it is definitely money well spent!
tl;dr Suggest a game for $20 or less. Doesnt have to be a mobile game. Im suggesting OldSchool Runescape to everyone

I re-installed my notebook and will play some of my most famous games of the past again, starting with Bioshock. Cheap titles can be found on gog.com where 'gog' stands for good old games which can be bought very cheap and totally drm free there.

1. (Mobile) That level Again, great series and plus is free (except for 2) tho the creator is a busy man and rarely releases updates. 2. (Mobile) The Battle Cats, good game and time killer, free and if you want to 100% complete the game it'll take a long time. 3.(PC) Team Fortress 2, needs a internet connection to keep it interesting, free and competitive play. 4. (PC/Mobile) Emulators, play basically anything from your childhood like GBA DS, GameCube, etc. Trust official ROM sites since a few downloads are viruses. Also emulators don't come with ROMs.

For mobile gaming they released the old PC baldur's gate series. It's ported rather well onto the touch screen and they definitely can consume massive amounts of your life. They also have multiplayer these days

Starfleet Command is $10 on gog.com. Really good tactical space combat set in the Star Trek universe. Starfleet Command 3 is even better if you can find it.

Ruiner was released less than a week ago. Price tag of 20 USD. I reckon it's like Dark Souls in a Ghost in the Shell-like cyberpunk setting. Definitely fast-paced and puts your reflexes to the test.
As for mobile, I installed Dan The Man a couple of days ago. Surprisingly addictive platformer. It's F2P but with payable bonuses, as is the current industry standard. Also marked as an Editor's Choice app.

Shadowverse is a better Hearthstone.
Epic CCG is a better digital MtG.
Both are super generous.
Shadowverse does monthly balance patches, where anything breaking the game(>50% win rate) is strong armed, so the game has little to no chance of stagnation. Unlike War Robots's 50% win rate, SV is 1v1, meaning the 50% is a test of skill between two players, and balance between interactive mechanics. Ofc the community isnt as appealing as this forum used to be, because people want to be able to dominate everything with their set of choice, and usually hate on their counters. The most prominent untouched, broken strategy, is the only meta deck with a negative win rate. That's saying something.

I know you said $20 or less, but if you're willing to pay just a bit more, a lot of my old gaming buddies play overwatch. I think the PC version is $40. The graphics and gameplay and story lines are great. Blizzard did a great job with it and it's a complete package from what I hear. Good luck and good hunting!

Not mobile games but still: I stumbled across FTL a few weeks ago. (Faster Than Light) pretty simple graphics but lot of fun imho. That game should be cheap, tho i dont know the exact price atm. Secondly if u like spaceships, meta-drama and have lots of time. try EVE. free to play, and you can buy a monthly upgrade (more ships, more training skils, etc...) with in game currency (isk) I did play that for at least 2 years before my computer got too old Good Luck

1. Planetside 2(Free)(Try this one out at the very least, probably the only mmofps in existence) 2. Deus Ex 1 & Deus Ex Human Revolution are $7 and $20 respectively. Don't touch any of the other games in the series. 3. Insurgency and its WW2 spinoff are $10 and $20 respectively. 4. Morrowind GOTY Edition, Oblivion Deluxe Edition, F:NV Ultimate Edition, and Skyrim are $15, $20, $20, and $15 respectively. 5. Black Squad(Free) 6. DOTA & LoL(Free) 7. Path of Exile(Free) 8. Starbound & Terraria are $15 and $10 respectively. 9. Unturned(Free) 10. All paid valve games are at $10-$20 11. https://www.reddit.com/r/mechwarrior/comments/1nay0u/anywhere_to_still_get_a_decent_copy_of_mw4_mercs/cch2fxh/(Mechwarrior 4 Mercs, you'll want 7-zip to extract the rar and some technical finesse is required for installing it) 12. steelraven7.itch.io/ravenfield13. indigogaming.itch.io/garrison-archangel14. Star Wars Battlefront 2 Classic($10) has just gotten its multiplayer revived. It's better than EA's Battlefront. www.reddit.com/r/roguelikes/ (Check the stuff on the sidebar) tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FreewareGameswww.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/57fljf/the_list_of_really_free_steam_games/grabfreegames.com (Only get games with a positive rating, never the shovelware or asset flip games) humblebundle.com (Occasionally has games for free) store.steampowered.com/search/?filter=ut1I'll come back if I think of anything else. Just remembered that oldrim(Skyrim Standard Edition) isn't on the store search engine. Here's the store link: store.steampowered.com/app/72850/The_Elder_Scrolls_V_Skyrim/ Don't worry about the mixed reviews, it's still a good game, people are just rating it badly because of Skyrim Special Edition and creation club, neither of which affect oldrim.

If you want multiplayer action play Vain Glory. Even if it's a moba I don't see any difference between that and War Robots . More colorful graphics , reasonable prices. Ahh no upgrades que which is rather refreshing. Better in game multiplayer and clan action. In a few or six months VG will offer 5 vs 5 option. If you are a fan of anime all your nerd buttons will be tickled.
I dare say I think it's overall better and more complex than War Robots , I just got bored playing daily for 2 or more years.

For PC most titles that are 3-4 years old can be bought within the listed price range. There are many games that show more sophistication in graphics and play than War Robots despite the age. Just to name few: BOTS: multiple MW franchise games, some named already FPS: Bioshock (hell, yeah!) Strategy: Homeworld series RPG: Fallout(s), KOTOR series SIMS: Descent freespace (I know - it's from dinosaur age, bit kicks like hell and requires some skills)
There are no games on the marked that would ask for $$ like War Robots, so for 1 inquisitor you can have a PC/console and the game lol

I think i played/tried 90% of the existing roguelike titles. FTL was a big surprise, the strategic management of ship rooms/functions is awesome. It's way way better than similar titles which are just rogue-lights (just parvence of roguelike). I almost unlocked every ship in FTL. I wonder when a battletech-ish roguelike will ever be released.

This War of Mine. Not really fun per say, but interesting, original, and the studio that created the game donates part of the sales to some good causes. You're basically managing a group of civils during the war, trying to make them to survive until the end of the war. Solid game. It costs 19.99$ now so it may be better to wait steam sales in which you could find it for much less than that. For ice-hockey fans that would speak French (so around 0.001% of that forum I suppose) : free online hockey league here. It's a league I manage since 2001. Excellent atmosphere right now, it's really a group of good guys that are currently there.

All the above recommended great games. I would recommend Clash of Clans, friendly league system where you gain almost no profit from attacking Townhalls 3 levels lower than you. You can farm as much as you want in lower leagues for resources and upgrades (its even considered legit) or push to reach higher leagues for more rewards. You can also do no upgrades and just do battles/raids and clan wars for fun. (I used to connect twice a day to collect resources and do two war attacks twice a week) And above all the premium currency "gems", is collectible and achievable to all by doing events/tasks and just collecting trees All troops/heroes are open to all, just depends on your town hall level, and yes it takes years to max but its fun! Many years ago, in my school/University LAN, we played Doom1/2, Unreal tournament, Quake3Arena, Half-life, Counter-Strike, Starcraft1, Warcraft3/3, Age of empires1/2, Empire Earth, RedAlert2 and some Fifa2000 so on... A great PC games, I recommend is Starlancer and Freelancer
MMORPGs: Diablo2, MUonline and Runescape btw Any recommended f2p Android shooter games? (no robots)

It brings a very important message, and is able to show the monstruosity of the wars, in our days. It was so intense that i couldn't bring myself to continue in playing it, as i found it really touching and even depressing. I couldn't "play" with such topics. I like what they tried to do, and i appreciate their message, but it's a torture to play in it, for me. Ymmv (i actually stopped playing it when my first character died (( )

Humble monthly is releasing in 2 days for 12$. IMHO worth it. Rise of the Tomb raider for sure. Also forgot to mention that YOU decide how much of your cash goes to charity, how much goes to the developer and how much goes to humble bundle. Also recommend Suddenstrike . Quite an old game but the strategy component makes it worth it. It should be available on GOG.com Other than that if you are into Mil-sims, I'll recommend Arma 3. The devs act responsibility (?firetruck? you EA). Edit:Had forgotten about Red alert 3.Great game. For both strategy and some eye candy (wink wink).

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Dumb name, amazing MMORPG game. Kind of similar to vainglory, except in this you have more hands-on control over your character. Game is completely multiplayer-driven. In-app purchases will speed your acquisition of new characters and are the only way to acquire many character skins, but every character is obtainable through grinding. I cannot recommend this game enough; it's absorbed most of my former War Robots time.
Also, there's Dawn of Titans. Pretty awesome mobile strategy game, and I don't generally like strategy games. Completely FTP, though you can speed your advancement through RWD purchases.
Those two games are my primary time-wasting methods lately.

For those looking something comparable to War Robots, you can try Battle Bay. Controls take some getting used to but the overall concept seems solid.
-Multiple skill trees available to build out how you choose. -5 basic boat hulls you choose from (each with their own benefits/detriments) -multiple weapons and ship enhancements to choose from -PvP based squad battles -overall FTP, where you can grind for nearly everything (as far as I can tell) -relatively new title, started May of this year so you're still on the ground floor of the games life cycle.
Check it out, I've been having a decent time playing it the last couple days...
