Sometimes you have to upgrade your bots. Other times your weapons. And every now and again, something else entirely.

Hot off the Dredd-Press, eh? *reads* Edit: Hrm. I've been considering buying a tablet to either, A: play on. Or B: run discord on so I cut down on extra-extra lag (to be fair, my phone works pretty good) but a second device aint exactly cheap. Gonna be watchin' this thread to see what y'all chime in with. Good write-up, Dredd77 ?

Sometimes you have to upgrade your bots. Other times your weapons. And every now and again, something else entirely. A long time ago when I did more PC gaming I thought I should go and get a new, better, more button, mouse. After un wrapping the beast and setting it up, I found that my game play was WORSE than ever.... The new hardware may be an improvement but it is going to take a while to get used to, the shift in controls and the feel of the thing in the hands. What ever you do don't fall to the temptation to pick up the old devices and play, you just re-set the entire process!

I've always played this game on a tablet. Never could figure out the super secret Kungfu techniques those smart phone types were pulling off.

Good read, really enjoy read all of your articles.
I wonder how much different is play on phone vs tablet.

Good read, really enjoy read all of your articles. I wonder how much different is play on phone vs tablet. Definitely a difference. I can't use my thumb for the trigger button on my iPhone without constantly hitting the special feature button, too. I have to use my fingertip to control it. Also, I can't see my opponent's load-out unless they're already in range. An iPad is definitely better.

Part of the reason I have never liked trebs is that I can't actually see my target.

I'm on a phone, with these aging eyes sometimes I can't even see the range, never mind the names of opponents, or the load out they're packing.
1. I need to consider finally seeing an optometrist, admitting my 20/20 has gone on by 2. I should play on a tablet 3. ... 4. Profit

I can't recall how many times I intend to change target but end up firing the red button instead. I've been thinking about getting a tablet for War Robots but big screen phone is also tempting (bigger than my current 5.5 inch phone).

It's pretty annoying, huh? The game needs more balance.

I was really excited to get my 7 Plus, but soon noticed that the screen got bigger, but the buttons stayed the same size. In other words, got smaller as a proportion of screen size.

Good write-up, Dredd77 ? It's worth it to get a tablet. Anyways, I'd recommend the Google Pixel C. It's big, powerful, and it has incredible graphics.

Holy monkeyshines, @kingoftacobell. Looks like a swell device, but cheap it aint. Looks like I'll finally have to sell a kidney or testicle to finance my gaming habit. Heheh.

Just repaired the shattered screen on my iPad 4. I was playing on my iPhone LE...nope. Doesn't work the same. At all. Phone screens are really too small for a game like this. Back on the iPad now, and happy as a clam. Assuming clams can be happy. Are clams happy? Where does that phrase come from? And why do we simply assume these mollusks are happy? Anyway. Digression over. iPad is great. Clams are presumptively happy. The end.

Guys, if you're having trouble with lag on Android and you have a PC, just get an emulator, Android has always been poorly optimized due to the sheer number of different types of devices out there. The PC's sheer computing power can get past all of that. Watch out for the glitches though.

But interface problems and lag are the only reason I'm a manageable opponent, take that away and it'd be unfair until I hit the point where I get one shotted D:

I play on a smartphone, lag whrn hitted by a treb, lag when to many explosions around is this an issue for my game play? No ! Because war robots for me is a strategy/tactic games, rarelly i'm in the middle of a brawl,i'm almost allways the flanker/ambusher almost never the flanked/ambushed and when i am usually is a sacrifice for some goal this means that action and time reaction are less important to me than a correct position , battle awarnes and target choiche, i run seven hangar using almost every kind of bot and weap and my result are prtty the same so i get convinced that is totally a matter of pilot not of gear. My 2 cents

My 2 cents What smartphone/OS do you use? My iPhone LE can handle the graphics just fine; I never lag due to overloading the graphics processor. In fact usually my phone lags less than my iPad (wifi is occasionally slow). I think the main point of this discussion isn't that a phone can't handle the load of playing War Robots. I think the main point is, a bigger screen leads to a much more immersive game. That's why PC gamers (the really crazy ones) are always trying to get more and bigger screens. The bigger the screen, the more you see. Period. And, the more you see the better you play, because your reactions are better. I generally play more poorly on my iPhone than my iPad, not because the phone can't handle the load (it can) but because the screen is so small, I just don't see as much as I do on my iPad. You can't shoot what you can't see. I tip my hat to anyone who can use a smartphone and play effectively. On a phone, I'm definitely not as good as on my iPad. So, I'll keep using the iPad. As they say, size does matter.

strange that nobody seems to have noticed the more forgiving hit boxes on the phone. They had to compensate somewhere...

Good read as always. Agree with panda though. Speaking of @heavypanda, my office-mate and I came across this video today. The music makes it epic. You haven't lived until you've cranked the audio on a sub-equipped sound system while in a govt facility.
