Winning gives you 50% more silver, gold and makes you feel good about contributing to your team.

But winning gives you a 50% bonus on silver.
Winning is pretty meanless if you average 750 plus cups, as shear number of matches gets you more silver than you'll spend even on L12 upgrades.

But still, 50% more silver on those 750 cups... *Drools* I like to win. Even if that means a -22 b/c I'm the only one crossing the river at Springfield on a city spawn. Squad when you can, try your best when you don't, and have some fun out there.

I guess I need to say more. I liked the game when winning mattered. Everyone fought to win not just to get damage. Win or lose lots of damage can give you + points so that's what everyone is doing. Saw a guy not shoot at a Carnage cause he had Orks and the shield was full. Watched people ignore beacons to go shoot people. This is in Diamond 2 where people were better before. No teamwork now everyone in it for themselves.

I also like teamwork and that's more fun to me. Seems like I'm alone on this.

Could just be a run of bad teammates...stick with it, play sound tactics, and you will be a boost to your team more often than an anchor. Have you joined an active clan. It helps a lot. When I know all five of my allies, it makes a huge difference. If no clan, join the forum Merc squads!

I think it's one of the better features of the game that at least you get something for your efforts even in losing. God knows I've been losing enough lately. There's still silver to be gotten for popping reds (bots, not seconal!) and liberating beacons. But it's definitely more worthwhile to win.

Smh I agree with you which is why I hate that devs now value damage over wins. Because of this everyone is focused on damage not winning. Again I'm not saying Winning Doesn't Matter. The game is I disagree. The game is saying "you should still get credit for for putting in your best effort. You probably carried the team if you have the most damage." It's not perfect, but what is? I had a match two days ago where I was the last player on my team standing with 8 minutes left on the match clock. I was pissed, but I kept slugging it out anyway. I appreciate that I got some ranking points for that, as my team clearly sucked/failed while I was doing my best. Besides, if the team is focused on damage dealing, that's a viable way to win the game or at least make progress. Have a light mech in your hangar, and if everyone else is going for damage, just grab the beacons. It's a perfectly viable way to win and probably make 5 Gold. Winning gives a bigger payout. It feels nice to win. The game isn't telling us it doesn't matter, they're saying that losses aren't always the entire team's fault, which is accurate.

And I understand what the devs were trying. In the real world everyone is trying to job the system and instead of fighting for a win when down everyone goes for damage to lose as few points as possible or possibly gain points in the loss. Again I'm not disagreeing with you and would be happy to play the game with you and others like you. But people like us aren't the problem and this system has made things worse imo and in my experience. Solution? Give more points for winning from 1-6. If everyone sees value in winning they might decide to win again

I like winning way more than I like losing, plus you get more rewards I get your point but it's not true to say that winning doesn't matter Of course who dosnt wanna win what I mean is unless you maxed out on weapons and got all the slots and got a solid squad your going to lose alot so newbs should focus more on having fun and learning the game and make friends and focus more on building relationships so Win or Lose they grow together without being discouraged and rage Quit and uninstall the game

But winning gives you a 50% bonus on silver. Winning is pretty meanless if you average 750 plus cups, as shear number of matches gets you more silver than you'll spend even on L12 upgrades. It should probably be rephrased to "putting effort into winning doesn't matter". You can only control 1/12th of the outcome of a match, and over time you're going to be just a few percentage points over or under 50%. The bonus is coming either way.

If another player outplays me, I'm inclined to tip my hat and take it as a learning experience... in other words, it's not so bad. The problem is that most losses are a result of being outgunned. It's possible that you've been outplayed but it's really difficult to tell when your opponent has several levels on you and a hanger full of premium deathbots. Beacons really don't matter anymore since all the weapon buffs make it much easier to mech out your opponent and that seems to be the goal these days. Between that and the scramble for silver to max out bots, there isn't much room for strategy and beacon control.

Damage does so no one cares about winning now. Rant over. I hear ya. I'm often the 'Good guy, low scorer' because I insist on that old fashioned notion of team play and support my team mates'. Apparently it's not that popular a notion out there in non clan world. I will find those other players like yourselves or there. Happy hunting.

i posted on a thread earlier about this exact same thing... Can't understand pix bringing out different game modes when they only seem to reward high damage play over actually getting beacons. BR is a prime example of this.. why create a game mode aimed at getting beacons, if the player who gets the most ends up bottom of the leaderboard? So now they bring out DM which lets be honest thats what 90% are playing anyways? Im often top beacon capper barely hanging in at the end of a match, working my arse of for a team win.. when the douche blue who uses one bot with missiles sits on a hill firing at anything with a one finger, beats me on the rankings! Pfft! I feel ya pain OP, but I play the way I enjoy, and back up any blue whos getting shreaded with me! Give em hell and go down in flames : )
