But still, 50% more silver on those 750 cups... *Drools* I like to win. Even if that means a -22 b/c I'm the only one crossing the river at Springfield on a city spawn. Squad when you can, try your best when you don't, and have some fun out there. I like to win. I also lead charges. I squad and always try my best so I feel you. I also like teamwork and that's more fun to me. Seems like I'm alone on this. no your not. Sometimes we maybe lonely but were never alone, and the night may pass us by... Sometimes losing is the means for winning especially when making a bargain with the likes of Dormammu... And we can't always win... You know...

I disagree. Winning is the only thing that matters.
「fluffernutter」 damage.

It still leaves a sour taste when you deal 1 million plus damage, capped 8 beacons and still lost because your team mates were completely useless. So winning plus damage are both important, the mountain of Ag at the end of a battle makes me happy.

Damage does so no one cares about winning now. Rant over. this has pretty much been the case for a long time. with the prelevance of the new mkll, many pilots need a ton more silver. i wish you could get more silver for beacons, but the only great thing about war robots left is winning does not matter as much, and that means me raging less.

Interesting read. I am pretty new to this game and not much of a gamer at all to be honest. When I started playing a few months back I didn't even notice that the other players were real people, I just imagined that it was all AI generated computer techy stuff. But after a few games I caught on to the idea that its all other people and we can employ teamwork to win matches, I got the idea when playing a game where after a brief stalemate, I charged into the centre beacon like a mad kamakaze. When several team mates followed me in and our team took it and held it (my mech' was demolished) but I got a real sense of comradarie from it. I have made a point of not spending much real currency on buying game credits, this forces me to learn and become a better player with the cheapo Ag mechs and hopefully by the time I get into higher up leagues I will have lerned a bit more about teamwork with whatever players land in my team. I posit that players who start out by spending lots of their own real currency to pimp out their hangers quickly outclass others of similar skill levels and artificially get pushed up through the leagues without ever having to be good team mates because they are able to play the "lone-wolf hero". Unfortunately this will catch up with them when they start hitting up against more experienced polilots in similar hardware, especially when they start to meet up agsinst pilots with a good teamwork ethic.
I play to win, not for the silver but because it feels good. But there are a lot of people who simply either don't 'get' the teamwork ethic or are not interested .... perhaps for some it is a symptom of being raised and indoctrinated into an individualist society.

My Wing Chun Kungfu Sifu William Cheung and his top fighter and my fight coach, Anthony Arnett always said you benefit and gain more from a loss than a win. Especially when you look good doin it. I've lost matches before and on the way out the ring had folks high fivin and hooting and hollarin for me.. And my dumb 「bum-bum」 jus got worked. Still gotta look purty.

I stopped playing for a few reasons, but if you and others are fairly active between 3:15 and 9:00 eastern time, I can have some fun with war again.

I think it's one of the better features of the game that at least you get something for your efforts even in losing. God knows I've been losing enough lately. There's still silver to be gotten for popping reds (bots, not seconal!) and liberating beacons. But it's definitely more worthwhile to win. Most of the time winning isn't up to you. You can be top killer and beacon popper and still lose. That is why I think it is only fair that we get rewarded for personal efforts. 8 out of 10 battles are lost because my team is lazy lame or just too young to pull out a W!

Winning with less than 500k damage > losing with more than a mil damage... Always win... losing is for losers...

I disagree. The game is saying "you should still get credit for for putting in your best effort. You probably carried the team if you have the most damage." It's not perfect, but what is? I had a match two days ago where I was the last player on my team standing with 8 minutes left on the match clock. I was pissed, but I kept slugging it out anyway. I appreciate that I got some ranking points for that, as my team clearly sucked/failed while I was doing my best. Besides, if the team is focused on damage dealing, that's a viable way to win the game or at least make progress. Have a light mech in your hangar, and if everyone else is going for damage, just grab the beacons. It's a perfectly viable way to win and probably make 5 Gold. Winning gives a bigger payout. It feels nice to win. The game isn't telling us it doesn't matter, they're saying that losses aren't always the entire team's fault, which is accurate. In an ideal world you're right. And I understand what the devs were trying. In the real world everyone is trying to job the system and instead of fighting for a win when down everyone goes for damage to lose as few points as possible or possibly gain points in the loss. Again I'm not disagreeing with you and would be happy to play the game with you and others like you. But people like us aren't the problem and this system has made things worse imo and in my experience. Solution? Give more points for winning from 1-6. If everyone sees value in winning they might decide to win again I agree not to disagree. indeed nothing is perfect. If I have nothing, doesn't mean i have perfect?
