They just need to allow you to pick any 5 bots out of your complete hangar line up. Done within 10 seconds at the beginning? for the map your given. That way you can choose better for the map your playing. No changing weapons etc because that would be too much time trying to customize.

I hardly ever use the 3 I have. 6 would be inconsequential.
If you blow through 5 Mecha in a Match, maybe it's not the number of Mecha in your hangar that needs to change ..

5 slot is enough as many battle require only 4 bot's.i hardly use my 5th one. Maybe we should have repair costs actually mean more. Maybe not have negative silver, but if you get to your 5th bot you essentially get nothing. I regularly use all 5 of my bots. I do not believe that it is because I don't play well enough.

Repair costs used to go negative. Same with your bank account balance. When I first started playing, the numbers were so big I had no idea what was happening. Then I realized I was 10M in the hole.

I think you'll change your tune when you start climbing leagues. I almost never finish a match with spare Mechs to play. Either that or you play entirely too conservatively. Edit: As for the original topic. While I'd like a sixth mech in hangar as a pinch-hitter (still only deploying 5 during a match), the more I think about it the more I've decided that it's a bad idea. If you wanna run all brawlers, take the range handicap on large maps. If you like runnin' an LR setup, take the hit when you suck on short maps. Bout all I got. Anything over 6 is a ridiculous concept in my opinion.

If they implement 6, I'd be for it if it were virtual, i.e., you can only use 5 but have access to 6. That would actually be pretty sweet. I'd even pay 10k gold for it. That...would be cool.

Finely crafted reply, Firebeard. Utilizing 3 mechs when it's cheap to go at the very least to 4 (5 is still better) is a bad plan. But. You play how you'd like. I'll play my way.

Entirely ignoring what players who've played tens if not hundreds times as many games as yourself are saying because you fight "Smart"... Sad fact is that most (not all) of the counter-arguments to a possible 6th slot are from players who play in lower leagues and insist they are right. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I do fight Smart. Most Players will rush in and Lose. Should I do the same? Should I run into the fray and be blasted, like everyone else? It didn't take long to see how the Opposition fights. I know what to expect. I outfitted my Mecha with counter offensive weaponry. I know the strategies and tactics employed by the enemy. I've also become proficient with my Mecha. We'll see ..

The moon map in particular makes me want to be able to pick 5 from larger hangar. I've invested in a Treb Butch. He's not as effective in Dead City or Powerplant, but they at least have something in the way of sniping positions. The moon has nothing. But I don't want one map that makes a fun setup incredibly difficult to play to keep me from using it at all. Would make it a lot easier to run Aphid Jesse too. With random maps, why not let people customize to the given map a little more? Both sides would get it.
You might not like the idea of those with large hangars getting more of an advantage, but consider the fact that this would mean seeing less map-mismatched setups on the blue team for everyone. Maybe people will even save their Zenit bots for victory fireworks.

A full team with just one mid/long-range bot each is a huge liability on short range maps and this team will lose most (if not all) matches to equally skilled opposition with more balanced (=less) use of range.

I know - for a fact - that higher leagues demand different discipline. You just assume it doesn't. Champion level clan/squad play is completely different from the little leagues. Bot/weapon levels are just a part of it. If you play recklessly, you'll lose 5 bots before half the match is over. If you have a long range bot on a short range map, you'll do poorly, mech out quickly or have to play extremely conservative with your other bots - and this is the motivation for the "6 bot hangar, but only play 5" suggestion. If you were on iOS I would squad a couple of games with you just so you could see for yourself.

So, fight Smarter not Harder? .. I believe I stated that. I play exactly the way you described, currently and have numerous Opponents with varied weapon systems that I have to analyze on the fly. I'll be, OK ..

I vote 3 bots and to shorten games. Make the game more casual. This is a cell phone game! This is how you draw in new blood. I also think they need alternate game modes. Like a nonstop battlefield where new players join to fill a void. Or 3 bot mode. Or 1 bot deathmatch mode. I never played War Robots on a phone, I use a tablet computer.
What about different game modes? Players can choose between: -5 min games, max 3 bots/hangar -10min games, max 5 bots/hangar (like what we got now) -15min games, max 10 bots/hangar or the tonnage system mentioned earlier (I like that idea) -no time limit, no beacons, no teams, max 5 bots/hangar, last bot standing wins -10 min games, max 3 bots/hangar, only silver equipment allowed, no gold reward -etc....?

they are making a team deathmatch mode on the test server.

They're all cool ideas. I think they only need 1 or 2 more additional game modes though. You can't give people too many options IMO. 1 new game mode at a time is probably best. They really just need a casual mode. I'm one of those people who always play on their phone, so that'll encourage me to play a game when I have 5 mins to spare. Ideally I feel like ladder, casual(likely deathmatch) and a rotating game mode would be best. That gives people enough different game modes to keep things fresh. I also think one of the weaknesses of this game (for casual play) is people botting out or uneven teams. If they make it so it's like Day of Defeat or Call of Duty or any modern FPS where you continually spawn in, that'll be perfect for casual play. No one gets punished if someone leaves.

I think a better solution to what you're trying to solve with a 6th slot would be some sort of multiple hangar profile setup. At the start of a match, you would select one of your saved hangars. At least, that would suit me quite well! That way, I could have a configuration suitable for short-range maps as well as for Yama and Springfield, when I really want to have long range options available. Right now, I usually play without the long range options simply because I find myself on the moon map or dead city where they just aren't very helpful most of the time - which comes back to bite me whenever I play Yama.

I like this idea. You could have 3 or 4 pre-configured bot hangers with custom loadouts, to choose from at the beginning of each match. You'd have the option to choose a preconfigured short range or long range hanger based on your preferences for the map. One option would be set as default to start (this gets auto-selected if you don't make a choice after 10 seconds). The Configuration would allow you to customize the bot hanger line-up as well as the weapons line-up on each bot. Only own 1 Carnage but like to use it Thunders on Dead city and Tridents on Yam? No problem.

Games will never finish with 6 bots.
At least there's a hope of mech'ing out the other side for a win. With 5 bots it's hard enough, impossible with 6.

One of my present challenges is trying not to mech out as often while still being effective on the battlefield. Having a real silver incentive can only help that. The repair cost thing is just a joke at present. It would be nice if it meant something without letting it fall to negative. It would still have to allow the option of getting silver even if you mech out - assuming enough damage, kills, beacons etc. - and a win bonus. Just have the player that does nothing and mechs out get nothing for it. Just make a hard limit of 0 so that people can not fall negative.

If you are constantly meching out with 5 bots you are doing it wrong or seriously outgunned.
More than 5 bots would drag out matches to full timer for not much gain.
I'd rather the match be over and move on to the next match.

I mean, I don't think anything is a substitute for common sense or experience. That said, my own experience as relatively new player is that Yama doesn't come up very often. It wouldn't make sense to invest in an all range hangar - and by the time I acquired anything decent beyond nashorns, I'd know better than to do so.
