I had pretty good luck with a thunder/aphid Leo on my old account. Not planning on aphids this time around so I will likely stick to thunder/magnums,thunder/pinata, and trident/crv. Leo Zeus/Gekko was meh, but again, no plans to buy gekkos

Thunder/aphids, trident/CRV. (Only one I would consider using in my lineup though is thunder/aphid).

Aphids Zeus seems like a really good setup, just don't have the amount of gold to burn yet.

Currently only have pinata thunder Leo, i play it like a pinata Patton mean I don't try to engage after unloading first volley, instead I back around corners and try to get another in, then finish it off with thunder. It works well in silver since most bots don't tend to have that much health.
Is trident crv Leo any good compared to rdb griffin? It's my second choice for a mid range build once I get a second orkan for my rdb griffin and a trident.

For Tridents to be effective you need it to at least lvl8.

Would a level 8 trident force me into low gold being a wsp weapon?

My fave Leo setup is a Griffin. ...or a Galahad.

Would a level 8 trident force me into low gold being a wsp weapon? IIRC Wsp weapons do not have MM penalty, only WSP bots and bribots.

Sooooo.........? What say yee? Leo with CRV Pins and Trident, decent midrange support bot but slow (mine at level 7) so have to have battle awereness that knife fighters can't get too close. Not good in Dead City.

For me, the problem with Trident CRV Pins Leo is the range difference.
You end up most of the time being within 500m due to the CRV range. And Trident & CRV loading times are the same, so there's that. And shorter range = more prone to get shot at, and Leo being slow bot as it is, cannot retreat in time.
This is where the RDB Griffin is superior, due to its jump capability (jump to kill, jump to retreat, jump to cover, jump to different levels without having to go up the ramp, jump to cap beacons, and so on). Heck, even its walking speed is faster than the Leo's.

I run a Thunder / pinata set up. You have to be aware of surroundings, but as an all Ag setup, cheap and at close range very effective. Pretty sturdy bot & good training for other rocket bots - patton w 4 pins/pinatas.

The trident/crv Leo isn't even fun to pilot tbh, the mixed firing times and ranges of it are annoying asf.

Agree that - I'm using Leo only when other bots are down or at first in bigger maps. Just today got finally 5th slot open, it is time to rearrange weapons and bots...

Leo is the most common bot in high silver. Thunder-Mags seem to be the most popular setup.

I see that for short-range - thunder with 3 Aphids, for mid-range - trident with 3 molots or treb.

Salute to your 5th slot! It will be a game changer!
The flexibility - try different configs with it. Also, all those battles down to the wire - if I only had 1 more bot - Now you do!

Thanks for everyone! Exactly what SoCalGrndR said "if I only had 1 more bot": there has been times when I am last bot on the field from blue ones - with that above Leo It is very exiting to try to survive when four reds are hunting you and all you need is that reds dominance bar depletes completely or timer runs out (beacons held more whole battle). ...because this Leo setup is not for knife fighting or "run-away-and-stay-in-cover" But now that 5th slot gives more oppoturnity to win. I would say in high silver tier RDB griff is still better, more versatility. For Tridents to be effective you need it to at least lvl8. Just wish the Griff was tougher. A big thing I dont like about the Leo is 3 light points with the heavy. A medium might be nice.

My fave Leo setup is a Griffin. ...or a Galahad. Definately the Galahad. I just cant seem to find a loadout that I really like for the Leo.

Anyone tried that Pot-Head version that I've seen on Adrian's channel? 3x Aphids and an Ancile?

Guys try one aphid on one side and two pinatas on other on Leo it works good as a knife fighter first fire aphid from cover 2 times and when it's close fire pinatas and engage with thunder.
