Rollo, is it ok for you if they only use FFA to go down ? I can neither conform nor deny, but at least it doesn’t ruin fun for nearly as many players. Yeah, the seal clubbing part of the Tankers is the main way of Pixonic to keep the servers running.

Seal clubbers teach all the young players what's waiting up top so they can start preparing themselves. They urge them to start investing in better gear so they won't regret spending time or money in upgrading useless gear. So really, Seal Clubbers are the heroes we deserve. Not a bad job at spin doctoring I reckon ?

Rollo, is it ok for you if they only use FFA to go down ? I think part of the point has been missed when you ask that question. Tanking in FFA still means ur have ruined the game (albeit less) for the people in that match. And let’s be honest here, nobody tanks down one league, because you get pushed up pretty quickly. They drop into the depths of the league chart. And the PURPOSE 99.99% of the time is to get easier matches to farm resources (aka seal clubbing). We can probably all agree that anyone with MK2 stuff probably should never be tanking, but even if you have level 9-10 stuff and tank down to silver, you are still being a bully when your level 9 Lancelot or Haechi stomps around ripping into some clueless dude who has a level 5 Spiral/Molot/Pin Patton. Even “Legacy” is a relative term. Pix might well have made the leagues and top tier imbalanced, but that doesn’t excuse people making it worse by doing it to folks who are even more vulnerable and are trying to get to grips with this game.

I think usually they’d quit the game totally unless they were emotionally invested in it or interested enough to find places like the wiki, the forum or maybe a good clan

Yup agree, in FFA, it is always annoying to met a player who drain your bot to last stand, kill it self then respawn. While most of the times it is fast silver and gold or doing some charity giving easy resources to our fellow players.

TLDR but times have changed people. Times have changed big time! Time to readjust perception of tanking and tanking practices. Sure some people still tank but the proportion of tankers is way way way down. The new points system, dilution of Champions League and Pix catching tankers and suspending them, all combined to make a big difference. The points system in particular. Those that stay low in the leagues with meta gear probably play 3 games and tank 20. Most of the die hards will give up soon too…. But yes some will always remain.
Don’t know how many tankers I know but say forty. I know 3 who are still tanking and those guys are near the Masters/Champions League border. The rest wont even bother anymore. What for, when you have nori/zenith natashas, gareths, griffins and alike frequently popping up in Champions League.
The issue now transformed itself and it appears along the lines of one guy scoring 500K while the other scores 6.3M while on the same team (just happened). That’s system approved tanking/seal clubbing. That was a maxed whale with a laser ming on 13K cups and the other guy was an M3 with sub meta gear perhaps 8/8 if lucky. Seal clubbing being an issue…. Seriously!? Pix is saying, you put up with it, leave or you pay.

I don't get why anybody runs around in Champs/Masters with legacy gear (unless they want to, which is fair enough) You said yourself. In my case I do it because I want to. I run legacy/older bots in low champ and master because I like to use all my bots. I hate monotony. To me using the same 5 best bots over and over until they are nerf or replaced by something better is not exactly my definition of fun. I choose variety because that's the way I enjoy the game. So I'm sorry if someone lost because I decided to choose my own enjoyment. I don't think that falls under anyone's definition of tanking? Well not mine at least, run what you like as far as I'm concerned.

I dont dominate the battlefield but I do get some matches were I'm in top 1-3.
Inquistor ability might not be OP but can still pack a punch, Carnage with viper is sooo fun and good against tanks and Titans, Leo with Cryonegic guns is a very underrated and deadly, people don't expect my Gareth with flames to do something....until they are dead and lastly, the Doc with Cryo and flames is really good and fun too.
Most players in higher leagues already got used of their overpowered abilities to save their butts. When you apply a little more skill than they do you can actually get them.
