So, FaintyDragon talked about tanking (which is bad, I think we can all agree on this).
He wanted to know how to get to a lower league, not for "whale tanking" purposes. But so he would not be getting killed every two seconds.
We all know that tanking (WHICH IS BAD M'KAY) is used to "seal club" and farm silver by less-than-ethical players.
His original post was locked. My reply post was meant to be informative, and explain that getting smashed is just part of the game. Example. My last three games (which I played since that post) has been our team getting spawn raided and obliterated in 90 seconds. Literally 90 seconds. My thread was not to promote tanking, but to try to educate a newer player that the MM and League Levels are just part of the system, and it will level you out where you need to be.
Problem is, some;
A- power hungry mod
B- pimply faced kid on a power trip
C- Some armchair warrior accountant who has never put themselves in peril
D- all of the above,
thought it best to delete all my carefully chosen words. Which is a funny thing, seeing as most of the Mods are from the USA, which is Land of The Free. I mean the word freedom is bandied about all over the place. Patriotism is high. Their damn fire engines are flying the Stars & Stripes for goodness sake. In over thirty years in uniform I have never seen an Australian military or first responder vehicle flying a flag. And yet, here we are on this forum, displaying a level of censorship that appears more communistic than democratic.
Everyone here loves War Robots. Most everyone hates it being monetised. So people biatch about Pix. It lets off steam. It's not trolling. It's not hateful. It's not a personal attack.
Censoring reasonable freedom of speech is a personal attack. Did my post get reported by offended readers? Doubtful.
Did some power tripper want to throw his weight around? Almost certainly.
So is that a personal attack against the mods? No, it's a retaliation. Different thing. Self defence really. Another big thing in the USA I might add.
So we've had a few very prominent members leave of late. Because they stopped playing? Evidently not. Were they getting personally attacked by trolls? Doubtful, this forum doesn't appear to have many.
The only other answer is management. Or mismanagement.
I did my trade. Joined the Army. Spent over 20 years in the Paramedics. Did a tour of the Gulf. I have put myself in peril about a million times to protect democracy, and those people that follow it.
So I'll be god-dammed if some 「fluffernutter」ing power 「fluffernutter」ing tripping 「fluffernutter」ing moderator wants to censor me without even giving me common 「fluffernutter」ing decency of a few words in private. Or public. It's piss weak. It's not leading your troops.
I fully expect this thread to magically disappear as well. Just like about 20 million Chinese. Oh, but they only had a few thousand Covid 19 deaths didn't they? But mysteriously, over 21 million phone accounts disappeared.
Interesting. Can't say anything bad about the government or you disappear. Prove to me that this isn't the case here. Bother to reply. Make a useful argument.
My time here has always been to knowledge share, and lighten up the whiners with some sarcastic and witty retorts (black humour sometimes, it's a Para thing).

That's one of the biggest issues with the MM. If you don't use meta you go down in wins and leagues. Since I'm a player that likes to use all my bots and I mean ALL of Them, I run different themes and hangars that includes Stalker, Galahad, Rogatka, Ares, Leech, Doc, Carnage, Dashers, All kind of Robots. So of course at some point I'll lose because legacy or older bots can't carch up against Meta bots. A couple of weeks ago I decided to run a Camelot Hangar (2 Lance, 2 Gary, 1 Galahad) and a I had such a hard time because stupid Phantoms just keep eating alive all my robots with Cryogenic weapons, and of course with too many loses you losw tons of league points. Something thats its completely unavoidable to the losing player. Is it my fault that my robots aren't that good against other stronger robots? Am I now forced to use specific robots? Do we all have to follow the same style as the top players? Meta, Meta, Meta? |

Wait, you are complaining about the mods and then reporting this when you want free speech? I don’t get it. So in other words you want to go after the mods but want them to protect you when someone goes after you? Anyone see the narcissism in that? I was also in the military, was also a paramedic, but not with the US military. During my time I had the honor of cross-training with USMC, Gurkhas and Spec-Ops. All were super humble and respectful. I would like the mention that this is an international forum, not an American one. The Constitution doesn’t apply. And I’m not from the USA in any case. While I respect your time in service, it has nothing to do with this forum, just as my time in service doesn’t either. Your time in service doesn’t equate to fighting for your rights here on this forum as this forum is not governed by your Constitution. There might have been a miscommunication regarding your post, but more than just one mod read it and deemed it to still be encouraging tanking. Perhaps you need to also check on how you communicate things. In the midst of your supposed help you were still complaints about monetisation etc as well. No mods do anything without consultation with the rest of the mod team unless it’s a cut and dried infraction (racism, bigotry, gross and indecent content etc). We even have a rule of two that requires bans require at least 2 mods to agree. So you can have your conspiracy theories all you want, but perhaps you might want to also reflect on your communication style before assuming that the blame must always lie with others. I read it and was 50/50 about it but 2 other readers felt it still needed removal and a warning. Finally, I am ethnic Chinese but not from China. I have friends who are under persecution in China as we speak and folks who very well might be owners of some of those vanished mobile phones you mentioned. For you to equate it to THIS issue trivialises their suffering and sacrifices. Some of my family had to flee China and for you to equate this forum issue to that spits on their trials and suffering. I completely agree that the MM needs a lot of work, especially after the merge. but this game has always been about a complicated version of rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock, with the Pantheon bots being the only problem with that system for a time. you CAN run specific bots, you will have to accept that every bot has specific weaknesses. You wouldn’t need cryos to deal with a Camelot hangar. Even an Orkan Specter or Haechi would give you hell. You don’t have to follow the meta, but you then need to figure ur own way to live at the top. linearblade and Ⓑⓞⓑ Ⓓⓨⓛⓐⓝ are on opposite ends of that spectrum and also viewpoints, but they both make it work with lances, Raijins, Menders, Hellburners etc... |

Yes, I'm aware that "all" bots have a weaknesses. My experience with my Camelot hangar is just an example. What I meant is that when I choose to run variety (this includes "weaker" older bots) I'm always going to have problem against players who only uses the best of the best because the game has being designs to force you to always look for the best items available, so the player that tries to be different is the one that gets punished for having decided not to follow this idea. So eventually I'll lose points and therefore drop leagues, and I cant be blamed or accused of tanking (not that anyone is doing it) or dropping leagues on purpose if I keep losing because I decided to do things my ways. That's why I said that you can't be force to use the best robots in the game and "stop" losing. I try avoid the Top as much as possible (NOT by tanking, let's make that clear). I have a strict rule of not upgrade my Bots past level 9 and weapons past level 7 (I been doing this since the day I started to play after I heard how awful the top leagues are. This is nothing new). There's no a single rule that says or forces me to max out all my equipment. And no way in hell I'll ever have enough resources to max out every single robot and weapon I own. I don't chase this hollow dream of being among the best pilots in the game or fight against the max level of competition, I play by my own rules. Like I always say, "Do what it takes to make your experience fun and enjoyable". If I can't have fun why should I keep playing? And I don't think Pixonic likes the idea of players to leaving the game. . |

Man, have you guys not read the CoC. We’re not actually asking that much, so why is it such a big deal that now a few of you are consistently insulting the moderators, claiming censorship issues, and intentionally doing things to get the very responses you’re complaining about?
Why is this such an issue? Seriously. In sections outside of Rants,
- have fun and constructive dialogue about War Robots.
- reserve negative talk about the game for the Rants section
- don’t bypass the language filter or use sexual references
- don’t talk about tanking or gaming the system
- don’t slander players or people who pay to play
Those are not unreasonable requests, and we said we would start upholding the CoC more strictly. So, it isn’t about puffed out chests, it is following through with what we announced. If you guys had some respect and just followed that short list above, we wouldn’t have to keep editing, deleting, locking, or moving so many things, and giving disciplinary actions. We don’t want to spend so much time doing all that. We want people to enjoy and benefit from the forum, but some members are obviously angry they can’t just write whatever they want without caring how it impacts anyone. Simply put, if you don’t want to respect others in this forum by abiding by the simple rules of the CoC, you don’t have to remain a member, and obviously people who continue to be rude will be removed. That is not what the moderators want, but their own behavior has consequences. So why not just chill out, respect the CoC, and enjoy the forum together.

Not to pick apart rules for its own sake (I wouldn’t do that), but because these have been actual issues in the forum... 1) reserve negative talk about the game for the Rants section This is vague and easily abusable in enforcement. Does constructive criticism of Pixonic fall under this category? What about pointing out bugs or glitches in the game? What about pointing out very interesting and informative presentations from Pixonic employees on how to psychologically manipulate people to spend? What about pointing to textbook instances of bait-and-switch business practices to ethically inform potential spenders of the risk involved? None of these are rants nor do they belong in a rant section. Nonetheless, I will admit the mods have done a commendable job in not being very overhanded on the enforcement of this. 2) don’t talk about tanking or gaming the system The enforcement in this is biased in an uncomfortable direction. Any talk whatsoever about trying to get to a league where actually belong so that you are not steamrolled within a minute is interpreted as not only tanking but as degenerate behavior. However, posting how to farm quickly by squadding in pairs so as to literally optimize the obliteration of randoms is tolerated. 3) don’t slander players or people who pay to play This is actually written in a revealing way. Notice it states “don’t slander players or people who pay to play”, not “don’t slander people”, whereby those who pay to play are implicitly but necessarily included. I've never imagined my thread would release such an amount of pent-up frustration. I apologize for unintentionally creating a dramatic situation, this is something that rarely helps any community and from my previous experiences (in other games) always ends up badly.
I am not certain this will help anyone, but I've devised a rule for myself for situations like this: when I feel the anger and frustration creeping in, I take a time off by doing something else for two hours. I only write the post if I still feel about the issue as strongly as before.
I can understand why AVC is upset as I don't ever see reasons for censorship (or deletion) of forum posts. Perhaps only if it would negatively impact the forum in the world outside (deletion by the authority at freeforums.net, google search restrictions... ). In other cases I believe that a post violating policies can at least serve as a lesson for the future and perhaps can be migrated to different section of the forum for further references.
At the same time I can imagine that setting an exact margin on something as poorly defined as human discussion is nearly impossible. Both the decision to take and not to take an action is bound to offend someone.
I joined the forums a week after starting the game. I find the diversity of ideas and occasional clash of views refreshing, much unlike the discussions at reddit. Please keep it the way it is and don't polarize each other further.

Your first point is accepted and is intentionally broad as new and unanticipated topics and things pop up all the time. If you have seen my reviews in the past, it is possible to review, comment and negatively critique Pix and what they do without becoming toxic. It's different from ranting about them and calling them ?dookie? and wishing that Stan or his successors catch covid and die.
However, we also have to be honest and admit that they are not the only game with these schemes.
After a while it gets tiring to hear the same complaints again and again. If we know that it is SADLY not going to change, and we want to still play the game, then the complaints become become whiny and toxic. The choice then becomes, play or not to play. And as a forum the toxicity had reached levels that were preventing constructive discussion from happening because every thread where a legit question was being asked would be derailed by salty or bitter folks.
The original CoC does not actually mention specifically slandering of P2W players. It just asks that everyone be treated with respect. However, ѻﻭɼﻉ 's updated announcement specifically mentions them because that was the segment of the community that has been targeted and abused the most.
As much as we might roll our eyes at them when they steamroll us at times, it also means that they have the equipment and experience with the equipment that allows them to help provide us with more information which this forum and the wiki needs. It becomes frustrating to ask questions on a forum about a particular bot that just came out but nobody but the whale has it. But we have driven the dude away, but yet we want his insight and knowledge that none of us have. This was also a problem with Youtubers such as Adrian. We call him a shill and a sellout but yet eagerly await his videos because they help us decide where to invest our hard earned resources.
Long and short is: The only reason P2W was highlighted was because it was the segment of the community that was being targeted and abused the most. But we still want respect to be accorded to EVERYONE on the forum.
We do not want to be like the War Robots Facebook community where F2P players call P2W players ?kitty cats? and no-skill, and the P2W call F2P whiners and suck it up, pay-up or go home etc etc....
We truly want this place to be a place where the whole community can discuss the game with respect and courtesy within the boundaries of what is supposed to be acceptable within the game rules, ToC and COC
And we have to tighten up and be more strict in order to accomplish that, I'll do it.

Man, have you guys not read the CoC. We’re not actually asking that much, so why is it such a big deal that now a few of you are consistently insulting the moderators, claiming censorship issues, and intentionally doing things to get the very responses you’re complaining about? Why is this such an issue? Seriously. In sections outside of Rants, - have fun and constructive dialogue about War Robots. - reserve negative talk about the game for the Rants section - don’t bypass the language filter or use sexual references - don’t talk about tanking or gaming the system - don’t slander players or people who pay to play Those are not unreasonable requests, and we said we would start upholding the CoC more strictly. So, it isn’t about puffed out chests, it is following through with what we announced. If you guys had some respect and just followed that short list above, we wouldn’t have to keep editing, deleting, locking, or moving so many things, and giving disciplinary actions. We don’t want to spend so much time doing all that. We want people to enjoy and benefit from the forum, but some members are obviously angry they can’t just write whatever they want without caring how it impacts anyone. Simply put, if you don’t want to respect others in this forum by abiding by the simple rules of the CoC, you don’t have to remain a member, and obviously people who continue to be rude will be removed. That is not what the moderators want, but their own behavior has consequences. So why not just chill out, respect the CoC, and enjoy the forum together. Honestly the Coc is not a quick read, and more importantly the board is starting to reek of one sided “discussion”. Pretending these problems don’t exist doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
