Star Wars fans (geeks) know what I'm talking about....
For the rest of you with "actual lives"....BACTA is a healing solution in the Star Wars universe that speeds recovery from even the worst wounds/illnesses.
The War Robots version is the HEAL MODULES....
BACTA is expensive and wars have been fought over it...the power cells used to activate the modules are expensive and we have to fight for them or buy resources to obtain them.
I've removed the heal modules from my bots....and, my fellow pilots, this is turning out to be quite frustrating in learning curve. I have dropped from Champions League to high M1, ( not actually that big a drop as I was very low in Champions League and liable to get knocked out in either case) and my damage output has dropped about 60-70k. Win rate is still in 50% range.
The biggest hit I've taken is to my EGO....which continues to insist I take bigger risks than is warranted and screams in rage when I back out of unwinnable situations....
I've had to revamp my play style: Staying with teammates, Planning movement beyond just the next move to improve chances of finding cover, Analysis of reds I'm planning to attack, Risk analysis of capping a beacon, Checking wep status before attacking....
All of these things are logical....but I'm stupid...so it takes more work than it should.
Comes much easier for good pilots....
I just wanted to let readers know that if they struggle with this...they are not alone....
And if readers think they need BACTA to win....well... They're probably right...but that's a result of: Playing opponents beyond their current ability. Underleveled equipment. Laziness. Overdeveloped Ego.
I'm fighting through all the above....

Just get the healing skills for the pilot. They all have at least 3.

Just switch to another module. This way you don't spam heal when a single bullet hits you. Will save a lot in the long run.

Definitely ween yourself from the heal module. Anyone remember energon cubes from Transformers, that's basically what power cells are turning out to be for War Robots. The constant hunt for unlimited supply of energon

Switched to Quantum Radar on all bots...I now accidentally use the active modules as much as deliberately.... Yes.... I'm stupid.... But I wish PIXO would change the activation button location.

You are not stupid. I use Quantum Radar more accidentally than when I need it. For some reason the 「fluffernutter」ing menu seems to pop up when I try to circle an enemy even though my finger isn't even near the button. Knowing Pixonic this is probably designed this way instead of 「dookie」ty programming.

I was completely off the rock for a while, then got hooked again. I finally switched to Quantum Radar on all but falcon and my crack supply has gone from 3k to 20k+ with all the free event boxes and lack of vein slapping I had been doing.
In the meantime, I’ve gone from 769k average damage on June 30 to 1M+ today while climbing the Champions League ladder to the middle of Champions League V with 10,500 league points. I lmao at how much I get hit with LD, DM and Quantum Radar - freqnenfly, clans squadding will spend at least $1.00/game just on ME, plus I assume a others in the match as well. Some of the top clans are such crack heads that they’ll DM me in the final seconds of battle when the game has been a landslide victory. Pix was brilliant (though pretty sleazy) with handing out all the free MANDATORY crack pipes to everyone. It becomes muscle-memory reflex in the game, just like hitting the ability button.

I changed all my healing mods to Quantum Radar simply because they do me no good. I've found that using the healing mod just gives the reds extra silver as I'm already locked down and getting melted once I have a chance to hit it anyway.
Having no last stand or anti-control thingy, coupled with level 9 bots and level 10 weapons in Champs league, means I'm dead as soon as I get targeted. It sucks but it is what it is.

I use heal once per game at most on my invader, sometimes not at all. Every bot has a mechanic on it though except inquisitor as you can’t get mechanic on that bot with a legendary pilot.
It doesn’t take long to build up your stash. Especially with events, I’m at around 72k at the moment I think.

BACTA did help quite a bit with my bots...but I ran thru my crack way to fast. Because of that, no Au, semi-crappy skills on my pilots, cannot promote them... cannot retrain the way I want.... So...kicking the habit...banking my Au and PC's.....

Awesome post! You're not the first person I've seen who's turned to power cells when they hit low Champs. Especially with the long honor point march from the Masters to the Champ crate, it is just designed to addict people to green crack. Subbing in the Mechanic skill is definitely worthwhile, the learning curve on strategy and tactics really pays off longer-term. Power simply robs players of skill in this game.

Just in case anyone is curious...
Slowing my roll and looking around at my team before making decisions has upped my kill rate (slightly), bot longevity and damage output....
I'm above 5000 cups and win rate is still at 50%....
Been able to pull a few teammates out of tricky situations and help them make multi-kills....
Have saved my crack for punching Ao Jun/Pursuers in the face.
(Truly B.s. that Quantum Radar has a 1 second delay on a 5 second ability)
I may get rolled the next time I play...but I see light in the tunnel and no train whistle....

psychopsyd, I like how you're brutally honest and admit your shortcoming readily, such as your lack of discipline and etc. But stay strong bro, you'll get better soon. Just keep practising and don't make silly mistakes. It's not easy, but practise makes it possible. Overcoming the Heal Module addiction is tough, but once you've got past the withdrawal stage, you'll find your skills improving and you performance getting better. BTW, don't waste gold on powercells. Save your gold and get some healing Pilot Skills. Those are great value for their price.

Best time to get off the rock is at the start of a fresh season
Doing so in the middle will get you stuck with hellos games well above your pay grade.
Just FYI from someone who cycles rock use during events

Lately I've been spamming heal to simply keep my rating up. I've been floating around 4500. I was around 4700 but something happened. I run out of heal very quickly, but I encourage spamming it because it honestly is not important for developing players.
Boosters, premium modules, those other other premium modules, and getting more than a few pilot skills, is a whole steaming pile of donkey ?dookie?.

Mechanic and Wonderworker skills are GREAT VALUE and a Godsend for me, they def save me from snorting up too much. After a particularly hairy scrap I find some comfy cover and let my mechanic do it’s thing for a minute while singing Olivia Newton-Johns Magic to myself. Ive said too much....

Getting used to no healing as well. I made a Vityaz only hangar, which is a bot that doesn't have an active module slot.

Not spending my Au on BACTA cells for 2 days let me promote a pilot to corporal and retrain 2 random skills to something useful....
Have fought my way back into Champions League....for better or worse....
Getting more "kill steals"....feel bad about that part, but it's just that I'm in position to help pilots in trouble or making a an assault....I lay cover/support fire and happen to loose the kill shot. (I like getting kills...but winning the match is more important to me.)
I realize my posts seem "self satisfying"....if I bore y'all, say so. I'm "documenting" this to try to help.
Maybe only a few of us fell into the trap....

Well.. since you cannot realiably tell when a blue needs you to kill off the red (reloading, last stand, temp dc, lag, etc) the correct action is always to shoot the red until it's dead. If some people dont get that, idc. Personally, I'd much rather lose the kill than risk losing my bot. For reference, I'm one of the most stat-heavy players you'll ever see in this game (regularly above 2.1 mil dmg/13 kills avg from solo br)

Switch to Lockdown Ammo! I use Lockdown Ammo on many of my builds - just not the ones that already have root guns. The bots with root guns will have Quantum Radar or Repair. Lockdown Ammo is a hoot. You know how we like to complain about being rooted every time we take 5 steps? Well, I hate to admit it, but I'm part of the problem and I will use Lockdown Ammo whenever I catch a fast bot out in the open. Lockdown Ammo with Chimeras or Hydras are a hoot too cause you can root from around corners and really help the team out. It's an awesome support build. I haven't tried Lockdown Ammo with Zenit or Noris yet, but that's only because I don't have any decently leveled. If they ever buff the Noris to have the same firing mechanic as the direct fire rockets, then I'm definitely investing in them!

But I use it in a pretty unconventional way. I mainly use Lockdown Ammo to force bots like Ares/Ao Jun to activate their OP abilities sooner, since they panic easily. Once the ability wears off and they don't have it ready to fall back upon, so proceed to smoke them in a 1v1 no princess powers duel. I have some PCs saved up from the event, so I don't mind using some of them to even the disparity in power levels a bit.

I use Quantum Radar on all my bots that don't have lock on weapons and/or that are not tanks.
I can easily go through 60-100 PCs with my Falcon ALONE in a single game. I'm honestly considering promoting my T-Fal pilot again just to get the Quartermaster skill.

I from the beginning forced myself to not become reliant on it. I only allow myself to use the crack button twice max per game. Occasionally the match is super close and I am one of the last few blue's left where we can win if I smoke a few PC's but otherwise it is just 2. It has worked out nicely and my PC balance has grown to around 40,000. It does take restraint, especially in lower Champions League like I am because it helps to keep me in the fight longer but I am glad I was strict with myself when they first came out and did not become reliant on them.

Frustrated.....
Fought against 2 FALCONS in separate games and lost 5 bots to them because they almost constantly had the green heal glow...
I kept thinking, "They've GOT to run out of crack soon...", but n-o-o-o-o....
Fine....
PIXO is throwing crack at me and I'm leveling pilots.... Running at +/-60% wins, capping 2-3 beacons, and getting kills even if 3 or more kills get stolen.
I'm bringing an ARES online in about a week to replace my HAECHI...
Kicking the heal habit has done wonders for my overall gameplay...
I still don't do record amounts of damage (avg 550k)...but I don't think that's my area. I keep pushing beacons (without commiting suicide) and defend voraciously if we have an advantage in beacs while keeping red heads down for my advancing teammates. (I also terminate ARES/AO JUN with extreme prejudice when in a favorable position and pin them in place (often triggering their special ability) with harassment fire when I have little chance of taking them out. Lockdown ammo works great with a MERC HELLDIVE....)
Again... I'm not trying to self aggrandize.... I just want to help pilots in the same boat as me get out of the BACTA trap....
(Except those 2 FALCON pilots....I hope they go broke. I shouldn't feel this way, but I do.)
