Alright everyone, I have had some recent fights that got me thinking. I played against titans while I was trying out setups, in short my strider had gusts and a redeemer for a bit because I was playing with goons on something else.
I killed several titans in games by simply dashing around them in circles staying just out of their stomp (or stove) range and pelting them where they couldn't hit me but I could hit them. I used a lot of dashes during this time but I realised what it is just like.
If anyone knows the anime attack on titan you can skip this paragraph but basically the people in the anime use anchors to lock themselves to titans (large people) and use gas to fly around the titan staying just out of their reach until they can line up to hit their weak points.
I felt like I was one of these people, flying around the titan and hitting it where it hurt and it was all sorts of fun. I may be over thinking this but I thought it was cool, plus even if you don't care about my observation you should still try it. Anyway, strider along my friends.
PS: leave my anime watching habits alone!

So.
Ima try using Gusts/Calamity. I figure, can pelt a little dmg from medium distance, while closing in if they see me. If they do not see me, I can get close enough quickly enough to unload gusts/calamity close range and may do some fairly good dmg. 3 sec lock time will be fine as i close distance, and to help against other fast moving targets, using gusts to help take down shields, or wtvs.
also, my only weap choices aside from thunder right now, LOL doable?
and what are everyone's favorite pilot skills on Strider?

I have used this exact setup and it works a treat until you can get something better. I once fought 2 enemies who were both low health and in front of me, locked onto one and pointed my gusts at the other, got "ki-double kill" which was pretty damn entertaining. Anyway, mechanic is a must on literally anything NO MATTER WHAT. Roadhog, armour master, and master gunsmith are all good. If your final setup includes shotguns or machine guns use shot-grouping and if it has lock on weapons use the skill that helps lock on faster, other than that damage output and whatever else you want works a treat.

Hmm. Should I pursue a exodus for my Strider? Been running a viper/aphid build but that’s not the best for burst. Vipers more of a sustained damage weapon.

The exodus pair really well with the strider, burst damage, just dash in unload and dash out. I'd say go for it as sustained damage is not the best for the strider IMO, unless you have tasers, but they deal more damage the closer you get to a ridiculous point. Something like exodus and aphid/gust/halo/rime would be good.

Vipers more of a sustained damage weapon. goons, short range rockets, shotties, or tasers work extremely well on strider since their burst makes his low health irrelevenr. Strider doesn't mesh with constant firing weapons perfectly so unless you are strictly playing around you shouldn't use them. No matter what you do make sure it is fun for you. IE make the exo if you will have fun

Hmm. Should I pursue a exodus for my Strider? Been running a viper/aphid build but thatâs not the best for burst. Vipers more of a sustained damage weapon. In my early days of SuckerPunch training I ran Exo with 2 gusts and ran that build aggressive as hell and had a BLAST. Nowadays that has been replaced with Glacier Rimes which is THE most powerful punch I have experienced driving a Strider. Awhile ago I discovered Viper with Halos build was a misunderstood and underrated build, I STILL run it and it works incredible against Leeches and Titans IF.....IF.....and only IF you mind your cover and range and chip away at them. STRIDER can excel with most builds because it is such a dynamic presence on every map. I run a 5 Strider hangar with different builds and IMO 2 aphids are down at the bottom of the list for viable options on this great bot, it deserves a powerful loadout if you want to last and make a difference in the match. If you have them, try halos with viper, perfect complimenting weaps IMO. It can slay from 500m just as well as wrecking 「dookie」 in the dirty dancing department.

Actually the reason that strider works so well with literally any build is because of its speed and only its speed. You can use its ability in a couple of ways to play upon the advantages of your weapons and skirt around the disadvantages. For instance a shotgun build, you can get into opponents faces easy and quickly then escape before their teammates close on you. Then there is mid range weapons like goons, you can use the speed to get within range and stay there while keeping out of the other persons range. For long range weapons you can get to good angles as well as keep out of their range. And then there is the burst weapons which are perfect for strider, you can get in and get out after dumping your load (lol) as well as get in and out of range. As I have described striders speed is what gives it the ability to use any weapon, it the ability to hang with any other bot you can think of while still being all sorts of fun.

Lv 3-4 Rime is equivalent to lv9 Pinata... ?whiskey tango foxtrot?
Rime is gonna get nerfed (when it hits WS). You heard it here.
Exodus and Glacier are much closer. Yeah I know Exodus is workshopped, but, there's no reason to even build one.

I mean, besides upgrade price, but such low level Rimes keeping up means Pinatas are still a worse deal. If they want to buff Pinatas make them tier 1.. Also, Cryo is barely ahead of Rime, all the more reason to Nerf Rime (or buff Cryo..). Or a bit of both.

Trolls gotta eat too ya know... because, their just... *shudder* I've hardly used the Noricum/Zenit Strider but it even managed to splash kill off multiple reds that were trying to get the Castle CB after I dashed off over the river and underneath the platform. I was hoping to hit people at point blank (Noricum Uppercut) with them, but hitting the ceiling was good too. Also, I ended up using the Spiral / Chimera Strider to train how to use Chimeras.

i won the dragon dragoon from the event and have two marquess in store, is the dragoon marquess build any good ? if so what is the best way to play it ? OH MY GOD YES IT IS VERY GOOD! I have used it and have found several ways to use it. First off I use striders mobility to stay at 500-600m while easily getting into line of sight so I can pelt people (usually on those low health so I can finish them off, which is easy since I have either way more speed or way more range then any one else so I can get kills nobody else can get). Other than just basic play you have a few ways to kill players that will make you take little-no damage. For instance if you see a scourge, zeus or hydra family you simply step into their range and fire but just before you have been there for 3 seconds dash out of their range. This will break their lock which means they never can hurt you. On most titans you will see machine guns or rockets so you can easily stay just out of their range and pelt them, back pedaling as needed. This pertains to most other builds that you will see on the battlefield. Finally, you can easily kill leeches, ao juns and even ares because they have low health and are slower than you in normal mode. So basically watch for when one of the listed bots activates their ability and wait it out by staying off to the side and a good ways away then as soon as it runs out pelt them. Usually takes chunks off or kills them! If you want some other pointers I have plenty more but thats it for now, happy hunting!

This was too weird not to share. Was chewing on some serious Arthur 「bum-bum」 with my shotties during a spawn raid when he quickly swung around on me and I found myself where few have ventured and lived to take a screenshot. I was half hoping to get fart blasted but this was pretty cool too. Yeah, I killed him...so what. ? We were one...
