SuckerPunchers!
Has anybody noticed if their super glides aren’t snapping at the same success rate? Cmon...you can tell the truth, no one is judging...
Ive never been better than 50/50 but lately I am SUCKING at catching a super glide off the Yam cliff at start, also starting on Castle. It’s not a huge deal because I can still make it there most times when I do choke it, just gotta use more dashes obv.
But choking a super glide attempt on the regular is just not cool, it’s gettin’ in my head myaaaaan.....
Ive been running more Rogs lately, am wondering if I’m just getting rusty at this?

There is only one answer to you guys issue here, and that is that the A.I. SuckerPunch has become displeased with you for some reason and it is up to you to dialogue with it to discover what that is, though in ~BB~,’s case it is almost certainly from Strider neglect. Shame on you [slaps your wrist with a wooden ruler]

I posted this result on another thread, but it deserves its rightful place here. After a few clanmates softened up a 3-ares train, and a 4th was on his way. I got strider into a Carrier tunnel with them. I cleared my mind and let strider do his thing. Just like The Force, SuckerPunch took control AND obeyed my commands. It was all a blur of dash-spasms, shotgun blasts and shrieking death cries as ares after ares met its doom. When the smoke cleared and strider was finally taken down, I don’t even know what killed me. But I will never forget my first all-ares WRampage!

It's been a while since I've ran my Strider, I mk2'd it a few months, then got distracted with other stuff... So what's the ideal (according to the Sucker Punch Foundation's committees, board of directors, technical study guides, training manuals, research, surveys, focus groups, writing on the bathroom stall walls etc.) Strider capper for BR, I'm thinking ECU/Glory/Halo? I know Ember rocks it too, but Strider ends up being up close and in person a lot, and Glory/Halo pack a punch up close. I do have a level 12 Glory, level 12 ECU, and level 10 Halo Thanks

I never really used ECU much before this and it is surprisingly effective for grabbing certain beacons in a way non-ECU runners cant. All the energy and bullets and lock down stuff that might prevent you from getting there hits the shield instead. 99% of the time it is my big FU to all the Ares and lock down attempts. It is so effective that I am keeping it, building a second Strider for all weapons play, and building a second ECU for the Hellburner in my other hangar! I dont even feel the need to take up a skill slot for the ECU because it already performs plenty well enough. It does pretty good at max Mk1, and is absolutely excellent at max Mk2. I run Battle Borne & Anti Control passive mods, and Quantum Radar mainly to assist in chasing those dang little green gremlins

Hey Strider Fans, I’ve now got three of these, by far my favorite bot. I’ve got two at lvl 9, one with 10 Glory Spark and one with Viper (11) Shredder (10). Since Gusts got nerfed, I’m thinking of replacing my Gust (12) Pursuer (and my #1 Ares killer) with the third Strider that I’m currently leveling up. Any recommendations on what I should run given all the new updates? My other bots are a Mercury and then whatever else I pick for fifth slot depending on mood, right now a Falcon. I’m thinking either Exodus Halo or Ember Blaze with Lockdown Ammo. Thoughts?

Thoughts? if I were you I would try out another midrange build or the exodus build, gusts will work quite well with exo now since they got more bursty so they would probably work well. A spark calamity build is a great idea since calamity is getting a buff and you already have the sparks, maybe all dragoons or flames because those type of builds give you some crazy and weird play that is very, interesting. Also if you want to make a beacon capper use glory shredder or halo (your choice) and an ecu, it helps insanely. Maybe you could try put something like aphid and theremite or deathstar disco ball if you want some variety in your play or hanger. BTW, what do you have on your mercury? I am a huge fan of him so I love to talk with other stomper players, I swear I'm not a fanatic for strider or mercury. Hehehe. Seriously though, it depends on what you want to use on strider, he is a swiss army knife because of his speed so you should try some odd setups, saw some like lasers, chimera/spyral, zenit noris (we don't speak of this one much if at all), dragoons, aphid/thermite and many others.

I have pretty much all those weapons except for Dragoon (which I’ve never liked much) and Thermite (which sounds fun, maybe I’ll build it in WS) so I’ll probably try out some crazy builds. Strider and Mercury are my two favorite bots. I’m not even trying to build any Greeks or Dragons, I’d rather have more of these. On my Mercury I tried various things before settling on Avenger Halo. Glory Halo and Ember Halo were also great, but I really like the range you get with the Avenger. You can support from a distance in between hell dives ( just don’t forget to reload!) Once I rolled the shot grouping skill for Avenger it pretty much locked it in.

I run that build and from all the skirmishs and everything I have settled on that because it is SO. DAMN. FUN. I would try it out because if you like the distance then you will love that distance especially since together 2 shredders can pump out 96k damage at max level without any bonuses to their damage! That is insane since the time it takes to deal the damage is a mere 3-4sec and they have lockdown so it makes them extremely strong weapons to have on the sides. Oh and having those halos on your glory strider and the sparks with the viper would probably be fairly fun so you would still have a strong hanger setup if you did change them around. I did recently collect the mercury pilot, plus I learned that the nuclear reactor modules (both kinds) help the damage of your helldive for a maximum of 92,655 damage per landing with just the pilot and 3 maxed TNRs, so um, ouch. Happy to find someone on the same page as me, I love mercury the most and strider only a bit less, IDK what I would do without them, lol. Oh and adding deathmark pumps the damage up to 105,435 damage.

Hey everyone, I just was playing with my strider, as usual and noticed someone using phase shift. I decided to give it a try and when that battle was over I slapped one on strider and started the next match.
4 people on the enemy team bunched up on the opposite side of the raised city on springfield, I played my falc and mercury then when I lost them I hopped into strider, we weren't getting anywhere since the other team was staying put so I got into the mini trench (killed a nemesis because he ignored me) and walked around the side of the enemy team.
None of them paid attention to me and I got over to the ramp for free, then when I got up the ramp I looked over to see that still nobody was even looking at me, I pick the nearest guy who was snipeing and I killed him really quick (he was low health already) and still nobody was attacking me, 2 more snipers fell and then they were finally getting brawlers to fight me with.
I go surrounded by all 4 of them and was thinking "nice knowing ya strider" when I remembered my phase shift. I activated it as at least 500k damage was sent my way and I dashed back to the edge of the trench using the buildings as cover. No one was able to kill me (teammates gave me covering fire) and I was able to kill 3 more people with strider.
Moral of the story there, USE PHASE SHIFT! Strider is the perfect robot to wield it since he can escape REALLY easy with that on, also helped me kill at least 3 ares in another game. That module wont come off him for the rest of my life, lol

BB you know you should use a phantom in your in your light bot hanger. It is a very powerful bot if you play it right (hey, doesn't that sound like strider?) And could be an extremely powerful asset to a person like you since you are a pro hands down. I would love to see people running both phantom and strider in the same hanger, simply because of how awesome these bots are. So are you gonna try for phantom? I sure as HELL will, I can't wait till he comes to workshop myself so...

Honor points - I don’t know what the formula is but killstreak plays a big roll. Here’re the results of a double Godlike and 4 beacon caps in Rome. Strider of course... (Strider 12m1, Exo 12m1, dual Gust 12m2, AC lvl1 and Last Stand lvl6). I bet zzkk is trying to figure out how I beat him in HPs. Kills were: strider, pursuer, Ao Jun, weakened Ares x2, and something else I didn’t see in the crowd.

In light of the general feeling re: missiles, this was likely sacrilege … but … it was hella fun and hella productive! I put Aphids on Scooter and roamed about killing other reds who were lobbing missiles. Most fun was being able daaaasssh out of the way when they tried to lob stuff back at me. Scooter was on the field almost the entire time. Tough lil bugger!

Suggestion - on lower level bots in Champ League, load more armor kits, which you can max out quickly and very cheaply. These are a temporary boost to hp until you can get the bot levels higher. Also, an ECU is used on Strider and Mercury in Champ League as an excellent counter to Ares and energy weapons, and they are cheap to buy and level

Took your advice on the Shredder Avenger Mercury. Sold! Switched my Halos to a Strider with Ember. Both build are kicking ?bum-bum?! great to hear! People have told me that the halo works far better with avenger but I was more interested in this loadout, turns out that I kill far more halo mercurys with this thing than I can count. I knew right away that this would be at least a decent combo (both machine guns with 500m range and the shredders have the lockdown and constant fire down while the avenger has all the damage you could need) happy to see yet another fall prey to this build but in a good way, lol. Make sure you stay back as much as possible until you see an opening AND you have lots of ammo in the avenger, also constantly unloading the avenger into cover when under 1/3 ammo keeps you ready for an engagement at anytime so make sure you do so. You seem to be a very sensible player so you should know all that by now so IDK why I even said it, lol. Always remember to STEP ON DEM REDS!!!

Back on topic, anyone have a good idea for another strider trick? Cause I just found one, I use phase shift as I walk right into the enemy teams line of fire when we are at a stand off and I dash all the way up to the reds with usually 2-3 dashes after saving as many as I can.
I then am between them and usually confuse the reds enough for 1. My team to get in and kill 2+ of them, 2. I can kill at least 1 of them before I go down and damage several others. Not to mention how entertaining it is to cause a instant brawl where the enemy team is losing half their bots with no chance to fight back because they are all attacking me (or trying too)
It kinda just makes a clusterfu*k that I can sometimes start AND survive all the way through, I wonder if I could survive if I got all the way in between them and out the otherside and still cause the same amount of confusion... ahh well it is fun none the less as long as your teammates take the chance.
