Intro:The Hover is an underrated bot. Have you ever liked the Griffin? Take one light weapon off. Give it much better speed, better health, a jump reload faster than a rogatka that allows you to adjust your jump, and you have the Hover. The Good: It is fast. At max speed it is 60kmph, and that's not counting the initial jump and the glide. It can beat a Kumiho to the center beacon. The ability. Once you master it, you can glide along the ground even, making you as fast as a rushing Pursuer. You can even fly from spawn to over the coliseum on Rome. (I have video evidence) You can even avoid Hellburner explosions! The OK: Health. It has medium health, and can still do relatively well under heavy fire (Excepting some things like, well Spectres.) Firepower. It makes up for its firepower with health and speed, but is still strong and when paired with the right weapons can take out many bots easily. The Bad: The ability. Wait, what? You just said it was good! That is still true, but when you jump, you are exposed to snipers and other damage. The ability is also not easy to master and can be hard at first. You can also get stuck on some things that won't let you move without your jump, so you have to wait until the fuel recharges. Important Things To Remember: You don't have to use the ability. You could just be a sturdier, faster Griffin! The ability takes time to master. Practice makes you not as bad! You also need to know when to use it and when not to. You're not invincible. You can be defeated. The Hover is not OP.
Thank you for letting me waste your time by educating you on the Hover.

Good points. Might I add as well...
The hover is great from a tactical standpoint because it can cover a lot of ground quickly and reach points high enough to use building tops as cover for nearby reds. Its long range means its awesome at reinforcing blue forces in the middle of battle and allows you to create an instant mismatch. It also allows you to quickly separate from a main attacking force to exploit another vector for attack, or grab a flag, forcing the enemy to divide its attention.
For a mech its size it has great foot speed which allows for superior hit and run tactics in favourable terrain. In shenzhen I usually fire off a salvo to kite a big red. Then duck behind a building. As soon as red gets close enough I take the express elevator up and out of his sight picture and finish him off while dropping behind him from the roof.
This bot ( like the Rog and Raven) comes with an attitude.

Hands down my favourite bot in this game, even more than the Rog! Ever since the buff, it's gotten even better. Just wanted to reiterate: you don't have to use the ability! At 60kph, it can get anywhere it really needs to go on the ground!

Practice makes you not as bad.... I totally agree. When I first started using my Hover I was bouncing off of buildings and ledges like a flying pinball. Now I can make pin point landings on some of the tallest structures (Okay...I still bounce off of stuff now and then). But with the Scourge/Spark set up I run, it makes it possible to lock on to a target, fly past with a slight turn in the general direction of the Red that is in my sights and keep Zappin till they die. I also like it when a red gets close, jumping straight up... then a little push forward and a 180 spin of the torso, dropping in behind them and finishing them off before they can turn around. The Hover is one of the bots I most enjoy playing. it's a rare thing when I take it out of my hanger.

One of my favs too. I too use the Scourge/Spark set up.

One of my favourites as well.
Great as a spydra and I'm finding it great as a Tesla Rooter. Just need to get a bit more of a level on the Spark and Corona but I can already see the positives since the buff.
Two Scourges and a Pulsar would be pretty damaging.

Whats going on here! A hover lover convention?
I am out of here. PULL! schrotter posted the 10 Hover Commandments here.
My Hover commandment I'm meditating on today:
"9) For six days shall you hover, but on the 7th you shall 「female dog」 and whine about Pixo, whom they call the Antihover, on this forum"

i've been a Proponent of the Hover since it's release, in my Opinion one of the Top5 Bots in the game due to the sheer versatilty of what can be done with certain loadouts that no other Bot can do.
like many i have mostly all the Newer Bots excluding the Suppression Bots, the Hellburner,Mender, and Bulwark, but the Hover was the only one i ever wanted to have a Second of.
as such the Hover is a Constant in my Hangar and in my Heart.
once you get the hang of Gliding off the ground it is a thing of Beauty.

My all time favorite bot hands down is my Scourge Spark Hover. Leveling a second one at the moment, trying my luck with an aphex setup. It turns out I am terrible at hurling missiles though, and I wonder if I should bite the bullet and level a bunch of root guns. Care to advise me? Shall I keep practicing my aphex skills, or build a flanker that behaves more like my taser build?

You generally know when you've carried your weight, although it doesn't always come across accurately in the "damage registered" screen at the end. One of my Hover's has a Halo to compliment the Scourges. Great synergy for 1st drop.
Vortex/Aphid is very much a legit build (including C league) but you've seen my Hovering in action, I'm probably frustrating the reds by pestering them with Scourges than I would with Vortex. My Vortexs are sitting at level 1, and I don't think I've leveled any of my many aphids either. Vortex/Aphid are cool, just not me, I'm a Scourge troll.
I've ran into a few Japanese or Chinese or Korean? (I'm not conversant with those scripts) in C league. When we see each other, its like nothing else matters in the game, the Hover duel is ON...there's a showdown at high noon. And yes, they're wicked-awesome pilots...fun stuff. I've seen a few Tulu/Pin Champ pilots too, a great build to consider as well....turbocharged RBD Griff/Raven.

I've killed all of them with Mk1 Lvl 12 (bot and weapons) Scourge/Halo Hover, many times over.
It's not whether or not it is Spark or Gust or Halo.
It's the pilot.
See my signature, click the link, and see how I do it.
I've got north of 15,000 games piloting Hover and no regrets..

Currently using scourge and gust setup. It is worse than the taran magnum so far. Hope ihere a spark before the end of the event Gust is REALLY hard to use on the Hover. I think it's because the shots go vertical, and the Halo, whose shots go horizontal, fits better with the Hover's flight ability. I suck with Tarans on ANY bot, so I wouldn't recommend Tarans on the Hover especially. Scourge/Spark Hover rocks, but you really have to play smart, especially with all the stealth bots running around. My 3rd Hover just got changed from DB to Pulsar/Shredder (really need to come up with a nickname). Haven't played many games with it yet, but as a support bot so far, it's pretty good. High, and I mean HIGH chance of root, even way out at 500 - 600m range, and respectable damage just outside Taran range.

I mean the tarans on it were level 8 ... and the scourges level 7. And we cannot forget about the matchmaker making people face higher leveled hangars. I face level 9-10 all the time. And it isnt a pleasant experience. the hover level 7 and the gust was only leveled to lv 4.

You miss the point completely.
Please allow me to illustrate.
Did you click on the link in my sig?
If not, please do so next insomnia night....and note that most of the bots I'm killing are "more meta", higher leveled, etc.
Any guess as to how I make up for the deficit?

For example this BR match on Springfield just now. Started on the "good side" the one close to CB. Flew over to take CB, saw the the nearest beacon to our home was being over-run, so I ditched to help. Respawned into Quiz. Not long after, the original beacon I captured initially was being over-run, so ditched and spawn there, into Haechi. Once that bot was toast, respawned to Bulgi and attacked their home beacon area. Mechout out Bulgi and hunted the remaining reds in Scourge Hover.
All the other 11 pilots have more "meta builds", better leveling, etc. Just play, and learn what works for your play style. It isn't the bot. It isn't even level or whether Mark 2, etc. Pilot.

Thank you for letting me waste your time by educating you on the Hover. The Hover is an improved bot since the update. I don't have one, but a bunch of people in my clan have them to good effect. Especially if they can get almost above their target. I think the biggest mistake people make with it is they keep going airborne when they're less than 50-30% health.

Back from some travel, and finally finding time to say thank you for the advice. You spoke my mind mentioning that you use the hover as a scourge troll. I therefore decided to try and build a shredder pulsar scourge setup for hover #2. Ugly critter, but I hope a wonderful troll!

I look forward to experimenting. We’ll see where I end up

Currently using scourge and gust setup. It is worse than the taran magnum so far. Hope ihere a spark before the end of the event I use scourge spark and got Godlike with it. But before that, I used Taran-Gust-Scourge and got two Godlikes. And no, there will not be spark components for the event. Just Inquisitor and Redeemer.
