Fellow pilots: I'll be putting together charts showing the difference between the "old economy" equipment upgrade costs compared to the "new." The charts below are the Ag and Time required to upgrade something to level 12 Mk1. That's great and at the same time very depressing work. Have bookmarked this page and will follow with interest.
Seems like when they said "some things like the Rogatka will get cheaper" they actually meant "one thing".
What a totally unnecessary and idiotic cluster... rock.
EDIT: Haha Pix seriously blew a fanfare over the fact that the Rogatka will get cheaper? It's less than 500k cheaper ffs!!!!!! Meanwhile many other bots and weapons get a doubling or tripling in cost! Unbelievable!

Good work kreb, So it looks like some bots will actually be cheaper in the longer run with the new version, It seems like the most desirable stuff will get a hike while the older stuff might be getting a reduction.
I noticed this on the Rajin as it was cheaper to upgrade in sliver but longer to upgrade (lv2)
We need the full picture so we can plan our acquisitions.

Special note, the upgrade time increases for legacy gear is all backloaded. They're all similar/easier to get to level 8 now, but the upgrades from 9-12 still make up more than 1/2 the total time/cost

Seems like most stuff will take 1500h to lvl 12 That means 2 months, and 4 for MK2 20 months for a full MK2 Spectre...  |

Great chart, thanks. I’m glad I kept the Natasha I won in BM! Most people were probably like me and only grinded 2 Dragoon’s. That would explain the Rajin & Natty increases.

I like the new regularity of the system...all items of a certain class now have the same cost/time to upgrade. Too bad there's no hard data on the change on cost/time to acquire. That would allow us to calculate the "breakeven" point where old and new costs to buy/upgrade an item from scratch are equal.
As I've stated before, it took me about 10 weeks to get a Spectre through WSP deals...if that time dropped to 4 weeks, it might be faster/cheaper to get a new one up to say level 6 or 7 compared to before.

Glad to know about Aphid - now I can safely sell all of level 5 Aphids accumulated over time.
Looking forwards to charts for medium (Scourge etc.) and heavy weapons (Dragoon etc),

Great work but so depressing to see the figures. I just cannot see myself completing upgrades when they take like 3 months and 170m silver. It’s just not worth it. Better things to do in life than grind worthless virtual currency. I suppose this change is the enabler for me to depart when I get bored with the grandfathered hanger.

Thanks for this. So i might be getting a spectre in a week. Ill have to play at least 500 games to get the ag resources! Assuming i get 200,000 AG/game. Hahah! We aren’t even talking weapons yet. Now we know why AU was nerfed everywhere. Seems this new economy will be AU heavy. For non premium players like myself, seems the only way will be to buy AG from AU. I can also see many using AU resources with whatever scraps they have to speed upgrade. People buying negligible amounts of AU to compete. Smart pix but im not falling for that trap anymore.

Do realize guys, Pix fully intended the upgrade times to be what they were at 3.9, but the tidal wave of "nopes" is why the gear from 3.8-4.0 still dwarfs the times/costs of everything else.

Huge THX man. I really don't get the Natasha change... Ironically Natasha allowed for pretty versatile build options... such as the light noricum bomblets. Allowing you to snipe with your heavy and forcing them out of cover. It’s a decent platform that I despise . Simply because it is the most effective sniper / support bot vs raijin |
