I used to rely on Plasma Galahad to counter Ancilot when going solo. But after the buff on the rockets (tulumbas, pin , orkan), my Galahad has become an easy target as there are so many rockets firing at the Galahad from 500M range.
So, what do you guys suggest the best bot to counter Ancilot, apart from Plasma Galahad?

Rdb and db builds both do the trick. Thunder ork lance, but that suffers the same drawback as the Galahad.

The problem with your question is that there's no such thing as solo. You have to worry about other bots on the field. And as far as Ancilots go, certain bots will be better than others, but your bot isn't the most important part. Teamwork is. Two RDB with combined fire can work an Ancile down and kill it. Same with two DB.
If you're talking about a true 1v1, then a Stalker, Gary, and Jesse can all do the job without taking much if any damage. If you're running solo and have to depend on randoms and want to fill a slot in your hangar with a specific Ancilot counter that you don't need to depend on your team for, I think it's a lost cause. That's a very specific thing to use up a valuable space in your hangar. Many things can kill an Ancilot, but most need teamwork. And the things that can do the job solo are too vulnerable to the reality of a match that doesn't include any true solo situations.

I use DB griffin to go head to head with ancilot too, but usually leave with 30% health if i manage to kill it ( giffin 8lv, DB lv 7to8, expert lv) |

Used to run a thunder carnage to shred the ancile for teammates to launch their rockets on the naked lancelot. But there are many occasions that the team fails to cooperate to gang up on an ancilot (im only in Expert 3, and honestly players somewhat avoid ancilot imo). Plasma Galahad therefore was very useful in my hangar. |

I suppose in a pure 1vs1 you would run out of map. But once you drop his shield, guys come flying in from everywhere to scoop up the free damage and finish him, like bees drawn to honey. |

If it's pure 1on1 then Plasmahad can do just ok and so can few mentioned light bots. I busted numerous ancilots in plasmahad especially if opponent had orks. I'm not relying on backpedalling, but it was one of factors involved before 2.9.1 - now can be a bit tougher if ancilot goes on rush to close the 50m gap.
In case Ancilot has Orks, I guess RogOrk or DB Griff could do quite well, assuming pilot can doge the initial salvo and get under the bubble.
Since pure 1on1 encounters are rather seldom, the easiest way is if it's team - 3-4 dual Thuder slugs from carny to trim down ancile, followed by RDB or even better, the DB can do the thing in an instant.

Oh yeahhhhhhhhh, the part where once ancile drops, SPARTAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!  Nevertheless, some people do not attack ancilots with priority, I'll always look out for shield bots or long range bots and make them a priority to attack (if it's within my attacking range). |

So, what do you guys suggest the best bot to counter Ancilot, apart from Plasma Galahad? I use my plasma Gary and my ork Rog to kill ancilots solo all the time. Clearly I only engage plasma ancilots with my Gary. I start drooling a little when I see one, lol. If they have tulus/orks then I wait for help or try to get them to chase me towards my waiting teammates hoping he gets tunnel vision. That said with my Gary it's about patience and cover. Corner shooting is most helpful, step back while reloading, corner shoot, rinse repeat. Another thing I'll do if situationally appropriate is just running around them in circles firing away till they are dead. That happens most often when they think it's wise to go for a far beacon alone or try to assist someone else by a far beacon that dies just around the time they get within range, hehe. With my Rog it takes sneaking up on the ancilot and then baiting him. Act like youre scared & avoiding him using cover to hide your ID to draw him in and then pounce. Jump to land within his shield and unload those Orks. If I have to run in a bit I make sure to time my jump for when they fire their missiles. Regardless of their loadout I'll still go for it with my Rog. Even if I don't completely kill him a crippled ancilot is better than a full powered ancilot any day of the week. Those two are my favorite but like you I used to use my plasmahad a lot. I still use it but because it's slightly less speedy than the lights I have the same tulu problem you have. For this reason I usually drop him when I see an ancile bot coming near spawn point or I know my path to a ancile target is fairly clear and I always try to keep my target between me and the other reds. |

While the Stuka griff is different and has its uses versus the standard DB griff, I'm not sure it's better- just different. The only thing you really need is that 5th slot and possibly 4 Orkans. My favorite potential top tier hangar is: 2 DB Griffs 2 PDB Griffs 1 RDB Griff. that's all you need. That is a no frills meat and potatoes top tier hangar. Everything else after this is, in my opinion, gravy. Fun, but not needed. And given time and that 60 Au per day and 100 Au per month, you'll get the shiny toys eventually! Happy Hunting!! Dejnov. |

Ancilot is foolish to take on Thunder orkan Lance on its own.
DB Griffin will go down but will inflict pretty significant damage.
As far as RDB goes, it will take 2 of them and the lance will be hopeless against them. But almost nothing can take on two RDB homing in on you, so this is nothing special.
The fact that a double team is needed with almost every bot other than a few makes the Ancilot one the strongest bots in the game still.

I forgot. Since we are talking about one on one with the Ancilot, the Galahad can pretty much toy with it. Emphasis on one-on-one situation with no RDB around.

Basically ANY bot will do against single, not very well piloted Ancilot. Even Aphid Jesse I also were able to take out Ancilots with Magnum Jesse and Pin Jesse. It just takes time. And with good team support it is 1000 times easier; here I suggest all-silver tricks: 1) Molot Griffin. You will shred Ancile in no time, and then keep your distance. 2) Thunder\Pinata Leo. Again, shred the Ancile, then close in for a kill. But you will take severe beating in the process. 3) Two Thunder Carnages, one distracts, other move in from the back for the kill. 4) Anything longrange with a splash, obviously - RDB, Tridents, etc 5) Punisher Griffin, surprisingly. Start shooting from 530m, while backpedaling. If he rushes suddenly and close in for a kill - jump back. |

No Au required - it is the best silver-only option available. It requires some fiddling about, but you can usually take out an Ancilot 1 on 1 every time. Here are some tips: 1.Keep cover close if you can. 2.Make sure you strip the Ancile shield with the Thunder only in the 350 - 500m. 3. Once it's stripped (or close) and you are almost at 350m, try to approach into the range of your Pinatas behind cover. 4. Once in range, finish of the rest of the Ancile with the Thunder and only then should you unleash the Pinatas. 5. Retreat to cover and repeat. Of course you can't always find cover on open maps, but the Leo has enough HP to go the distance against Ancilot, especially if you don't waste them unnecessarily. Furthermore, if you keep some teammates close, many of the smart ones will engage the Lancelot once it is distracted and the Ancile is down. The Leo is the best silver bot to lead this charge. And Pinata's not enough to take down his main HP, so you need to rely on Thunder to break the shield. 3 Pinatas would deal about 70K of damage to Lance's HP with splash. And 2 fully loaded Tarans would lay down 140K worth of damage in less than 10 seconds; Now you might say - what's the big deal? By that time Lance will got no shield, and Leo would be at ~40% health, so they are virtually in the same situation. Well, yes and no. It is true that in terms of raw HP Leo would be at a slight advantage. BUT (there's always but) Leo would be with Fire-on-reload Pinatas, doing tiny damage, and Thunder would be dealing 1 shot per 2 seconds, too. Tarans, meanwhile, would be eager to deliver whopping 14,000 per second damage, combined. Wait, there's more! While Leo were stripping the shield, mostly, dealing damage to a piece of scrap metal, Tarans were digging deep into a Leo's core, most probably blowing off some weapons by that moment. So Thunder\Pinata Leo is not made for long standoff, and Tarancilot just LOVES it. That's why I say it's impossible to beat Ancilot with a Leo, if everything else is on par (same skill, same levels, and no ambush). However, if you were able to catch unsuspecting Lance with a Leo, and get first salvo at his back (NOT at the Ancile, mind you) - then you stand a chance. But I won't recommend this. with tarancilots, i will use my little Gareth and go into their shield and offload orcan lvl 9 and pinanta lvl 10. That alone take their health down to about a half and by that time I have support from other team mates.
Don't always survive but a good feeling taking them down.
If I encounter orcan lance ancile/thunder, my RDB usually does the the job.... but you cannot fight orcan thunder/ancile lance head on. I used to use molots and molots mk2, but I realize these are not good for a moon map or dead city. Good for Shenzen to degree to shoot a snipers from distance but stopped using them
maybe I will got back to them and try them again, but with all RDB Griffins, I don't think I will last long on moon map or dead city I'm afraid

Weapon ignore Ancile- plasma
Weapon to kill Ancile- Thunder, Punisher
Weapon ignore physical shield- splash
There are many bots can kill it solo, like Plasmahad, any Thunder Lancelot or even...... I have killed an Ancilelot solo with a thunder Tridents Carnage (take a long time thought)

Destrier with Molotov (new Hungarian weapon due in July/aug) and spiral. Sneak up behind the ancilot and shoot it in the rush jet. Will go up in smoke.
