So we got a note from Pix. It is decided. I hope they would remove horrid fonts and make crosshair useable again.

I played the test server this weekend. I couldnt even make it through two games. That interface is HORRIBLE! Not only does targeting suck, The jump drive button on Griffs and Rogs worked less than half the time. Bots felt like they were stuck in quicksand much of the time. In over 6 months of playing the test server this weekend by far was the worst experience ive ever had there.
I left feedback pleading with them to not take this live till they get it to actually be "better" than what we have now because honestly, If its like it was this weekend, I would quit playing. Its That bad!

They're gonna have to tweak it. I can't imagine they'd go live with what we just tested. I'll be looking forward to next weekend to see if they followed up on any of what seem to be our common 'suggestions'.

Is that a map on the pause/menu screen??? That is going to be awesome, if they're adding that! I often have to go to the wiki to figure out which beacon is which.

I never realised how those beacons are marked. Sometimes it's clockwise, sometimes it's not. Sometimes C is a Center, sometimes not.

Russel , any word on if/when they're gonna bring the Tempest live? Have no official info on Tempest exactly, but I know that they are planning "big release" by the end of the summer, most probably every newly described thing would be there: ui, Bots, new modes, new weapons. Now they are in debugging/rebalance state. And most probably new stuff will cost IP, so you either need to stack it up, or farm, or spend some real money.

Summer roadmap says July, together with the scourge.

That test server wasn't totally complete but rather then holding out and having nothing for us to test on the weekend, they sent it out of the gates.
I, for one, couldn't even get it to install on Android but managed a few matches on iOS. Many of the issues people had should be taken in stride with the fact that the server was released with them knowing it wasn't completely finished.
With that said, I will give my input on the new user interface.
1. I REALLY like that they have moved the action reports to bottom center. This removes the clutter from the battle screen and although many may not yet be used to it, the change is better overall. Seeing who got the last kill is less important to me then seeing players currently IN THE BATTLE to my right without adjusting my aim towards them.
2. While they are at it, if the game engine allows, I would really push for getting customizable UI options. Being a mobile game, the variety of devices played on is huge. One positioning or size may not be best for everyone all around.
3. Although I like the hit marker for better visibility on accuracy reports, I do not like the cluttered up reticle. Again, they should provide a few selections which users can choose from to use. My smaller phone screen makes the aiming reticle a critical aspect when targeting those smaller or more distant robots.
4. I like that they are trying to make the enemy player ranges more visible. This is highly important for the decision making process involved with playing the game.
5. I would rather the beacon bar have some sort of tick marks in order to better judge which side has the lead. In the old system I was able to do this by comparing the beacon bar length to the player icons above it. Again, being aware of this is a critical aspect in my decision making process of what is more important to shift focus on in battle. Beacons or bots?
All of the rest of the fancy stuff like design visuals are not a matter of importance to me. Although I prefer them to look pretty, I do not have much opinion on them one way or the other.
