A new user interface this weekend. Hopefully better then the one they previewed. No mention of new bots or weapons but you can't use the Galahad for some reason. Wonder why?

I believe little old Gala is not feeling well this weekend. I heard he and his pal Rhino trapped into convenience store sale this week

Yeah I hoped for that descend robot to get tested, and the flamethrower oh my I hope it's still in ! Actually to me the preview ui looked cool, but my problem is that I'm a sucker for new things...it will be a fun session though that's for sure

First time on the test server, having a blast trying out everything. Only like a 36% win pct, but still having fun figuring out what works and what's useless. There are some damn good players in there.
Not too fond of the new UI. Colors of the bot location indicators, targeting frame and damage bars are too pale and difficult to see. Targeting was very jumpy and inconsistent. Also, the targeting frame doesn't show distance or damage of the targeted bot until it was very close. I thought at first that only happened when it was out if weapon range, but I had a couple of Trebs on a Carnage, and that info still wasn't showing. From that standpoint, I couldn't wait to get back to the current game.
And there were a LOT of freeze-ups. Several times when I was spawning a new bot it just froze there until it got killed or I replaced it. I also saw several other bots frozen as well, one even hanging in mid-air. Hopefully it's just a test server glitch, because it was far worse than anything I've seen on the prod servers.
But I did get to try the Tempest on the Carny. Carny has a bit more of a glass jaw than I expected -- its built-in ancile is pretty weak and it was very easy to take down. Of course it didn't help that just about everybody was rocking Trebs. But I definitely want that Tempest. Gonna try three of them on a Fury next time the server is open.

At first sight seems confusing as they overlap the red mark of enemies. To those who have tested, is it so? Or spotting reds is the same that now?

The UI is good in many ways, but the color palette is wrong and the brightness/contrast of the reticle needs work

What the h3ll are these "orange spots" in the screen? Kind of thermal prints of map radiators? At first sight seems confusing as they overlap the red mark of enemies. To those who have tested, is it so? Or spotting reds is the same that now? Funny, I didn't notice those spots until you pointed them out. But I found spotting and tracking red bots, generally seeing what's going on all around the battlefield, to be very difficult with the new UI. The things that need to stand out the most don't -- namely red bots, their status and distance away. I was also getting used to all new bots and weapons, so that could also have something to do with it. We'll try again in a couple of hours here and see if it's just a matter of getting used to it, but I think it's going to need a bit of tweaking before it's ready to go live.

The color palette sucks for those of us that are color blind! I had problems enough before, but that all blurs together ?

Pixonic is experimenting with new dynamic lighting every time test server is released. It is just lampposts from the map that are overglown. You can see it on 0:33. It would be fixed on live server.

You can see strange flickering on 0:33 too, on pre-2.9 test server. It never made into production. And also stupid Xenon projector glow of Tulumbas here:

colors were too light for me, and the touchpad wasn't too accurate. Maybe target locking was off, or the lag was bad. I didn't like it at all. Yes it's clean and modern, but i game play sucked.

Did anyone else have issues with sound? The only sound effects I heard were the ambient background sounds, like sirens on Shenzhen. I didn't hear weapons discharging (friendly or enemy) and could not figure out when I was getting hit. The intermittent lack of range info sucked too. I don't care if a red is out of my range, I wanna see how far the bot is, period. Also, not a fan of the new targeting reticle. I strongly prefer the current hit box. I also had issues getting the special ability button to work, esp. for jumping, like the object mapping on the screen was off. All in all I thought test server game performance was a buggy mess.

I experienced all of these things, and I agree, there's still a lot of bugs to work out. As it is, it's definitely more difficult to play and a lot less fun. The pale red on the target and all the enemy indicators needs more contrast -- it's very difficult to see those details. The new targeting reticle could be usable if they can figure a way to make it slightly more visible without obstructing your forward view. But the big 'X' that flashes up when you hit a target has to go.
