I use all 5 hangar slots and plan on finding a few MagGeps in each game. Once seen, I make sure I make them a priority. Too often they are more focused on killing or capping to notice me except in the Dead City.
For use in the Dead City or Close Quarters Golem 4/8 Trident, Tulumbas, Crv
Golem 4/8 Thunder, Orkan, Pin
Boa 4/8 Thunder, Orkan
General Use Vityaz 4/8 Thunder, Aphid
Open Terrain Golem 4/8 Zeus, Molots
What do you like to use at around that level to counter the MagGeps?

I used to have one but maybe it was my aim but I always seemed to do better with the Orkan on a Boa.

Plasma golems shred mag geps. Switching up a thunder with the Zeus works too.

I've had my best results with a Mini DB patton.
Anything else you have to stand in front of a Gepard firing level 12 magnums into you for 10 seconds.
However I don't recommend it for any other purpose. Boa Taren does the job and many others.

I like Taran Boa. Having the little extra range of the Taran instead of an Orkan makes a more flexable fighter. I also like Mags and Thunder on a Vityaz. The key is still the Thunder and introducing them to it up close (200m or less)

Pick one person (preferably a clubber) and constantly pelt them with missiles from behind cover while Treb is charging. With good positioning, they'll turn the corner to finally attack, only to meet the Kamehameha of War Robots

I reckon that would be funnier, they finally turn the corner furiously ready to mow that annoying homing missile bot down, only to be mowed down instead ;p.

I reckon that would be funnier, they finally turn the corner furiously ready to mow that annoying homing missile bot down, only to be mowed down instead ;p. A fully charged Treb (at the same level) does about the same damage as a single round of thunder buckshot (at >100M), but unlike the thunder, it can be used as an effective mid-range and long range poke when positioning for your missile spam, and if you're shooting something, it's going to hit for full damage. Even if clubbers aren't available, a little bit of map knowledge will give you a pretty good guess when something will be/is in your line-of-sight if you peep from your own cover. This way you can lob missiles, and poke at anything you can get a line o' sight on. Edit: As a personal preference, I always preferred treb or Zues on Plasma Golem for the same reason. Thunder is a marvelous weapon, but it's only doing 60-80% of it's damage at the max range of rockets/plasma. I dislike using plasma at <300M if possible, so thunder tends to be little more than consistant nusance in comparison to the damage the Mag/Taran is doing at that range. Zues and Treb do their full damage at 350, and have fair reload times. Zues is overall better for Close-mid, but having a single 10k laser accurate treb shot, then lol pecks to add to the other weapon's dps at near max range isnt all bad. Especially at 325-350M, where all but the largest targets are only taking 10-30% of the thunder's damage. Treb also has the bonus of hearing that satisfying hum as you're looking for your next target.

I used to have one but maybe it was my aim but I always seemed to do better with the Orkan on a Boa. Wow you must have good aim on orkan. Think for most people taran is the easier variation, especially for fast tarets like geps. It was mentioned elsewere but feels like orkans have been nerfed lately, missing targets a lot... or my aim is just getting worse? LOL

LOL Well I've learned to lead with an Orkan and it seems to do more burst damage than the Taran which can be key. I've gotten to where I can take out 2 or even 3 MagGeps in the Dead City if I'm very careful. I can kill 2 pretty often. I love it when I get one of them pissed and he feels like he has to hunt me down. About the time he finds me again my Orkan is recharged and ready for round 2. The weakness is fighting Geps with Aphids using a Boa......I get smashed pretty often. Just can't close and wind up playing cat and mouse hiding behind things and advancing between Aphid volleys.
