Thanks, Dredd, I wish the other players would realize that instead of fighting each other trying to get snowflakes the way they rack up AU, It's driving me insane.
I know, right! Especially in bronze. I can't even count the number of times I've lost an otherwise dominated battle becasue the zippy light bots are ignoring beacons and running into DB pattons and griffins like a samurai last stand charge. Maybe it's time to move up to silver and finally find a good clan.

Maybe it's time to move up to silver and finally find a good clan. Preach! I always open with a Cossack for capping, and used to just open by running to the closest beacon. I've since learned the wiser play is to actually take a few seconds and see where the herd is going first, then commit to whatever beacon(s) are being ignored. All I can do is chuckle when I see Lights spawn on one side of the pack, then run THROUGH the pack to get to a farther-away beacon rather than the one they're closest to. I love new players and all, we were all there once, but man it feels like being dropped into a pack of housecats sometimes.

I usually open with a knifefighter then wait to whip out the Gepard when my team is losing beacons and the enemy gets cocky, then run their flanks and annoy the snot out of them to grab back beacons and give my fighters an extra edge. I've fought against you, btw. Not an experience I care to repeat! You're a beast out there. lol My full screen name is AirSick Ocelot, you've likely seen me around. I'm usually whooping on the seal clubbers and ignoring the newbs.

The hardest part is being on the losing side with a bunch of hopeless randoms, getting meched out (because my iOS account is still has that new account stench), and having to watch the remainder of my teammates continue to fail. All so that I can at least get my 5 snowflakes for trying to carry the team.

All so that I can at least get my 5 snowflakes for trying to carry the team. Too funny. I will say that while it doesn't happen often, the times where I carry my teammates on my back and win a match destined for loss feels like a million bucks. Gotta take more where it doesn't work out to make it feel special, though.

That seems ridiculously unnecessary. Hard to believe Pix puts thought and effort into that crap when there are real things that could use their attention.

I kind of doubt those are fake winners. But, the way it was implemented certainly implies it's happening in real time, which it may not be, based on the video. It could be just a loop of actual past winners that gets loaded when the app loads. And nowhere does it say they won from a golden chest. You can win those items from regular chests, too. I suspect it's probably part of the psychological game - they put the winners of the "good" items on a loop and play it continuously to make you think people are constantly getting top stuff. I bet those are real winners, they're just not winning as frequently as it appears. If you watched it long enough, you'd probably see the same names repeated.

Remember the complaints from Halloween - accusations that no one was winning anything good. So Pix addressed that by sharing the big winners to show pilots are winning desirable gold items and keep you in the hunt. I hope it isn't a real feed as we have enough lag and other issues with the game now.
Cheers.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Questionable_causeThe video author has fallen victim to a series of logical fallacies, and does not offer any concrete proof of anything except that he can successfully turn off his wifi connection. Based on my own theories of game development, my immediate assumption was that Pixonic is simply using another gambler's/freemium trick by showing you a list of past winners, in order to create a greater FOMO effect. Likely this list is 'rolling' and only the last 20 or so winners are loaded and shown by this mechanism after you've launched the game. This is the same psych trick used by arcade games (high score list) and slot-machine pits (Jane Doe won 2 Million Dollars last week!) The winners are real. The prizes shown are for any Au/WSP prize from a loot box (wait, what? This isn't Overwatch)-I mean, Snowflake Chest, not just the Super Chest. I have chatted with and seen hangers of clan-mates that confirmed the prize winner alert that made me ask them in the first place. Pixonic may be in it for the money, but come on, do you really think they would be this stupid? When dealing with corporations, always keep in mind that the logic really only follows profitability. Ergo, it doesn't make sense for them to fake it, they would have spent more time and wages making the fake system rather than just using the data that's already there. Don't fear the chance of missing out, instead be afraid of living your life in the shadow of other's chaotic anomalies. What will be, will be.

I wasn't sure what turning off WiFi had to do with anything. I've played often with the regular iPhone wireless network connection.

Part of the false causality, he made the incorrect assumption that the pop-ups are somehow "live" or showing up in near real time, thus turning off his wifi should have meant that the pop-ups would stop. What he did not prove first, as is proper, is his assumption that the pop-ups are real time in the first place. I realized quickly on my own that it was a pre-loaded list when I saw some of the same names/prizes show up more than once during the same session.

What a bunch of lies! Guranteed gold item? The only thing I've gotten with snowflakes is 40k ag, which is useless, or an ac molot. Way to get more activity while lying to your players Pixonic! I think the constant messages showing people winning lancelots and furys every 2 seconds are fake as well. Are you trying to upset people??? Because you've genuinely succeeded. Additionally, this entire Holiday Event has brought out the worst in everyone. Every single battle I'm in people follow me around and steal kills and push me out of the way fighting for beacons. Congratulations! The game I so loved and worked hard to get level 30 in is officially ruined! I cant play this game anymore or I won't have any holiday spirit left! Wake me when this nightmare is over, I want my game back without a bunch of lies to get more activity for Pixonic to brag about. I was also getting junk when opening a chest as soon as i was able. So I have been waiting until I get 50 snowflakes, then opening 5 at a time. I have been getting a good amount of gold, and 4 bots, one of which was a Lancelot! If you haven't tried that, definitely do. It did wonders for me!
