When dash bots become popular, the popularity of rockets will probably die down a bit. Harder to target than plasma.

They have been around a while. I just think the new update caused everyone to start using them more. I do dislike how many more there are now.

While I agree their popularity will somewhat wane when the dash bots are finally introduced, it'll be difficult to give up on all that damage potential; instead people will get good at timing their shots as they've learn to do when targeting griffs, cossacks, and Rogs.

This new buff made them a fad for this moment/period in time because you do not have to have as much skill to use them.. I have found that using ROG's with Plasma or Punishers a great counter to DB's and RDB's Every time.. You jump when the shoot their initial load and can jump all around their position while firing at them.. They cannot reload fast enough and I have been alternating my fire on the Punishers so the pain never stops for them..  DOC with Molots has also been pretty successful cleaning up RDB and DB's.. There are solutions.. y'all just have to experiment a bit to find it and not fall into the DB RDB low talent trap/rut that is easy to fall into.. |

Once the next anti-physical shied ballistics update (and the new Tempest heavy MG) drops there's bound to be another increase in Punisher and Molot usage in battles. Those will be the next trend.

Yep, it is a fad, caused by the buff rockets received. Its a britbot hunting season.  But until the trend ends, grab your ancile and pray you can get around without getting blasted from half a kilometer away. |

Doubt that will be a fad. There would be no solid shields left around by that time. Who's going to want to use solid shields with the double assault of rockets and armor-piercing bullets? For some reason Pixonic wants to make Britbots extinct. |

For some reason Pixonic wants to make Britbots extinct. Pixo want Brit bots to die so they can more easily sell the new Dash bots. Its called planned obsolescence, lots of different products use it as a sales tactic (hello apple). They hard nerfing of the brits is necessary so the new gear doesn't have to use power creep to generate sales. If the brits didn't get a nerf there would be no reason to by the new bots (other than catch 'em all) because the brits would still be better, and they are entrenched in the meta. I think its a pretty good shake-up despite making my gals and garrys a bit less terminatorish. |

Rhino and all Brit bots have physical shields. Also the new dash heavy bot has a physical shield. I am not happy with the recent buff to orkans and fire while reloading rockets. They should of nerfed the rockets a little that fire while reloading, because they can fire more frequently now.

Rockets are much harder to use than plasma, especially against fast moving bots. Are they a Fad? lol.. No. Rockets were around BEFORE plasma. Everything old is new again in War Robots. And just stop with the " it doesnt take any skill to run X". People said magnums took no skill to run. Now its rockets.. SMH. |

No it's not a fad. I have been a rocketeer since I started playing (about 1 year in five or take). Favor them over plasma most every time. Plasma has its place but it's a matter of play style. I like to play ambush hide and seek, so rockets work better for me. Once everyone is done experimenting, things will settle down into the next meta, at least until the next round of "tweaks and balances". Until then, good luck and good hunting.

Nope not a fad. Why stop using it when it's easy to take down bots with RDB?
The reason why people say it takes less skill to use is because of the large splash range of tulu/pins. You can be off by quite a bit and still land the hits. Bots can't run away from your incoming rockets and have to stand substantially away from corner to avoid the splash. This fully suppresses the opponents and any move they make coming out of cover will take time and you can shoot at them before they even round the bend.
Orks take skill to use due to their small splash. Tulu/pin are as nasty as tridents. Even my brand new lvl 5 tulu/pin on lvl6 grif have opponents cowering in fear. I run 3 RDBs in my hangar now blasting everything in range, and a trident fury to counter red RDBs. Like it or not the game is a mid-long range fest now.

The new update is a zig-zag.
Before you had Ancilots to counter explosives, now they hurt Ancilots Ancile alot harder and Lancelots WITHOUT Ancile are pretty much dead because of the explosive spam (again), so people should buy more of them, and then they will release the new stuff wich will make explosives kinda obsolate.
Think ahead when playing this game otherwise you will lose alot of free resources.

Honestly, rockets have always been useful, they're one of my most recommended investments, to the point where I originally put orkans above the fifth slot in my gold purchase list. If you want a safe gold investment, the orkan has always been a good one, in addition to slots of course.
The only time where it fell out of widespread use was for a short while before Rhino domination where un-nerfed tarans and magnums ?firetruck?ed anything and everything. Their usage has only increased with the advent of shield bots.

I think I'm over the Fujin Tulumbas. It was nice and nostalgic for a few days, but now I think I'm gonna take it out and leave my Fury. I never really took out my Fury, ok, maybe for 1 week with the rise of Ancilots. Then I put it back in and had free reign as nobody paid attention to me, and there were no snipers to take me out, plus no blues to steal my damage. So not much has changed for me in a sense, now I have to fight with other blues for damage, everyone is watching out for you, and long range is being used again. The biggest difference is everyone is focus firing on Ancilots so their shield will drain fast. So it isn't that the weapons (Tulumbas + Pins) got a buff, it's that everyone is using them so it becomes more useful. OK, let me explain the future if that doesn't make sense. Even with the buff, if everyone stops using the RDB Griffin in a week, then you will stop using it too. The RDB Griffin will become useless again despite the buff. 1 RDB is not going to penetrate an Ancile no matter how much they fire at it. |

The double damage to shields on guns might come at some other cost, don't cross your fingers. Mail.ru and old Pix have been nerfing Punishers and Molots for the better part of two years. The only hopes the bullet weapons have is the Tempest, which looks like it'll have the original DPS of Molot 2(perspective is everything)
Rockets have become more flexible, and they're introducing(at a presumed artificial scarcity) bots that can Dodge all rockets but a skilled Trident pilot(with the most widely used one likely to be Zeus bait), as well as 600M medium class Plasma weapons.
The meta will likely become more diverse, as more bots get more counters.
Mail.Ru is taking some huge steps in the right direction for game balance, which is long overdue after they shoved this hamfisted MM down our throats.
All in all, will rocket use decrease? Depends on the player and their level of play. Some folks still run 4 lances and a fury, some folks still run 2 galas and lances, Zeus is coming back with a vengeance, and some folks have been using Griffins since the heavy bot speed boost. It's all relative.

If I'm not mistaken, the reason for the RDB's original reason for not being able to take out an ancile was because it couldn't do enough damage to offset the regen. Now that it no longer needs to reload completely, it should be able to deplete an ancile with some maneuvering, considering that the ancile is usually used by knife fighters. Even then, the RDB is supposed to be used against shield bots, not ancilots, if everyone stopped using midrange rockets again, shield bots would come back, meaning that the rdb would be useful again. |

Mid-range rockets (Tulus/PINs) have always been around and they are now permanent fixtures in Master's and above hangars.
No setup that can destroy all light bots in under 10 seconds is a fad ---- and that's exactly what an L12 RDB Griffin, RDB Rhino, Tulu Doc, or Tulu Fujin can do.
Even when the Dash bots get here, the RDB can handle the Mk1 and Mk3 (the Mk2 would be a bad choice to fight against). Ancilots are coming out of the woodwork as the Thunders are being retired on the hordes of Lancelots out there that easy converts to Ancilot format, which is in response to the RDBs and Tulu Docs rising in usage. However, from what I'm seeing in squad play, multiple RDBs are being used in crossfire positions to trap Ancilots and easily kill them by overwhelming the Ancile first in a crossfire. This strategy works and I've had my Ancilot crushed by a multi RDB crossfire quickly - even with my shield at L12 at 100% capacity.
I'm going to level up my 2nd Ancil to at least L11 and make a 2nd Ancilotfo combat the huge numbers of RDBs and BDs I now see every match. My other 3 bots are an RDB Griffin, a DB Griffin, and a Quad Tulu Doc.
