What does your hangar look like currently?

It depends on what you have in your hanger right now, and what purpose you want the bot for (mid range, long or close).

As others have stated, your current hangar is important for us to give the proper advice. However, after 2.9, physical shield bots (like Rhino) is in a disadvantage because of all the RDBs around, compared to ancile bots like Carnage. Plus, Zeus Carnages are currently really effective with all the Griffins jumping about.

Carnage. You're welcome. Previously I would have agreed, being the proud owner of five Carnages myself...however the Rhino has been making a strong comeback lately. So I just bought my third Rhino. Unless it's Thunders, or Trebs, I'd run a Rhino.

If you have neither, then Carnage. More versatile and has a built-in Ancile to soak up rockets. But be wary of Reds packing Zeus's and plasma.

I'd go for carnage for versatility--thunders for KF and zeus or tridents for mid range. Rhinos have a pretty tough shield but it doesn't fair well against tridents--not to mention the newly buffed rockets. If you do get a rhino, I wouldn't deploy it too early in the match (as with Galahads it seems) since that's when most play their mid range loadouts. It also depends on how you play. Carnages are lone bots lurking behind cover with thunders or flanking with zeus/tridents. Rhinos need to pair up with other bots to provide additional firepower. This is can do easily since it has decent speed.

The rhino is worth getting, but carnage should be first. So should fujin and rijin.

Carnage. You're welcome. I was going to say exactly the same thing, word for word.

Zues carnage or thunder carnage wreck face at different ranges. I've always felt trident carnage to be a little underwhelming. With the rocket update the rhino seems at a disadvantage, although I do seem to see a slight uptick in their use. All hail the thunder carnage! ? Good luck and good hunting.

Both are great bots. Carnage has more advantages.

Well, when I was new rhinos scared me and I thought carnages were kinda goofy.
But after 1200 ish battles I think rhinos are kinda cute for trying to be tough while I flank em and kill em and I'm terrified of Carnages, lol
So my vote is obviously a carnage but with each robot it's a different play style so that's important to consider.

Depends on your hanger and your style within the game.. Personally I had a Rhino and it just wasn't my style so i got rid of it.. I like the versatility of the Carnage .. I have Tridents, Zeus lvl8 and Thunder lvl9 load-outs for it, depending on how I feel that day .. With the Rhino, you are very limited.. AND now with the missile buff.. Rogs have been taking down Rhino's quite frequently with Orks.. the Rhino just cannot respond to the attack quick enough and with the Buff to the Orks, they are very much a difference maker on an Rog.

If you dont own either, I would highly recommend signing up for the test server and trying them both. The Rhino is a bit tricky to "drive" as when the shield is up, it can not turn very well. Rhinos take more skill to drive than most bots. You might want to see if that works for you before you fork over the WSP.

Why not both?
I'm currently running 2 Thunder Carnage's and one Tulu/Pun Rhino. Honestly, the Rhino is my anti PDB Griff bot mainly. Great at beacon defense but tricky to use more offensively when facing rockets. Epic VS Plasma. It's kinda like a really slow Griff punch wise, but there is no escape, no jump to get out of a sticky situation... I just try to take people with me if I get into something like that.
The Carnage's. You should get one. Little squishy in general but especially vs plasma. But super effective for Brit Bots or side stepping a Lance that just finished it's rush.
I use the Carnage's as power runners for beacons and early match mixing it up then finish off with the Thun/Mag Leo or Rhino. Different strokes though.

As first i would go for Carnage: 1) It's easy to equip (put 2 thunders, silver weapon, will work from the very start) 2) It's a bot that is really versatile, it can go cap or decap, it can ambush, it can soak some damage, and if the situation demands it, you can change location in the map really fast. 3) it's a bot that can totally change role whenever you equip it with different weapons, so it' even more versatile. - 2x Thunders = Short Range Ambusher
- 2x Tridents = Mid Range anti Shield / Anti groups
- 2x Zeus = Area control, whenever you shoot with Zeuses every 5 seconds people WILL take cover, forcing whole sides of the map on the defence, letting your team mates to advance.
About the Rhino:
It has the same Firepower of a Griffin, but the recent Rocket buff seriously hurted his role as a Damage Soaker. Personally i don't like it much but just because it lacks agility in reaching covers. For fast runs it's very good, and the new rocket meta seems to have brought rockets into rhinos as well.
Personally i would qualify the Rhino as an Harder bot to drive, hence my choice would fall for the Carnage Flexibility.

Buy one, then buy the other. They're both good bots to use.

Go for the Carnage first, it's a bit that has stood the test of time for those that have learned how to really use it.
It doesn't need any additional weapons as it comes with two thunders. If anything, after using it awhile, if you decide thunder ambushing isn't your style, you can re-tool it with tridents or Zeus depending on your resources, it's the most mobile bot with two heavy hard points, and it can soak up a lot of damage from mid-range rockets, making it uniqe, and one of the best bots for the roles it can take.
Rhino has a very, very large learning curve, so unless you're willing to take a spanking until you learn to use it effectively, Carnage is definitely the safer choice.
