I'm in Diamond and after the rocket buffs I've noticed quite an uptick in mid-range set-ups. Tarancilot is still relevant, but it seems to be DB, RDB, and TT Furies with a smattering of everything else including Tulu packing Docs and Fujins. My poor plasmahad is getting murdered by Tulu/Pins and I'm going to try a RDB Rhino because the short range Hellfire isn't cutting it anymore.
Do you guys see an uptick in midrange and if so what are you doing to adjust to the new metagame?

I see an uptake of midrange, but I can't tell you my counter to it. Hahahaha, good one, you almost got me. I almost spilled all my secrets.
No body tell him!

Well, since publishers got a 10 percent bump it's like you could say they got a free level up today. Orkans got a level and a half. If you're thinking of spending 12 million on a taran upgrade, you might just save up for that Orkan at 14 mil instead. Also has this move given enough incentive to upgrade those chain guns when that silver can be spent on proven killers?

Definitely rocket rules today! Seems like until everyone is done trying things out the knifer is dead. You are either a mid ranger or a beacon capper ( good luck lol). Want to counter those 500m rockets, break out the zues gekkos Leo and beam away from 600+. Or a Molot gunship from 700+. Trident carnage, zues carnage works too. And if all else fails, get a good book, a cup of coffee, and the zenit nori Natasha! ?

Good counter to all the mid range, especially RDB, is using a taran rogatka. I run two now because they are good at dodging the rockets (jump and speed) and still have decent health. The tarans have reasonable range. Orkans don't work as well since closer range and can be outran or jumped from. Basically just charge them if you can, jumping (a bit to either side works) when they shoot and then taking them down or at least forcing them to retreat.

Also has this move given enough incentive to upgrade those chain guns when that silver can be spent on proven killers? Punishers rate of fire went from 11 per second to 8.3 per second (approximately 25% decrease) so their DPS was REDUCED outside of accelerated fire. At this point, Molots are better because 90% of their bullets hit at ranges 50% of Punisher bullets would hit (unless firing at ancile) Orkans and Pinatas received a 15% RoF nerf, giving the Orkan the same DPS as pre-update with a longer unload time. Pinatas lost damage in exchange for a few extra rockets in clip size, decreasing damage per rocket by a bit (approx 15% less than before) with their "buff" coming in as 8% additional damage of the entire clip connects. Pix announced and promotes all of their changes as buffs, but does not include ALL of the changes made to each weapon in their patch notes.

I personally find that a well upgraded Griffin with Molots fired from 700-550 range is extremely annoying, and if used properly, deadly... And when I say, 'personally', I mean that from experience. Leos are finding their place with the Pinatas/Gekkos. A highly upgraded set of Gekkos make Carnage Capping completely unbearable.
But I am actually happy with this last update. Finally Griffins can stand up to Lances, and a group of Griffins can own the battlefield. Yet, has been stated, If you want to avoid those rockets, then learn how; it only takes skill.

The math is correct but math means almost nothing on the battlefield , now all these weapons can be used with much efficiencies because you can decide how many missile you will fire and when to keep pressure or not, just some examples my tulumbas Doc is raised from 300k dmg per game to above 500k ( when i use it for entire battle usually on yama on canyon) without upgrades same for my pinata stalker now able to solo bots in 3/4 of previous time or for my punisher leos and lance now able to do at least 30% more dmg at 300/400 m and still lethal under 100m

Great thread title, it's got this drama to it, like a movie title... or a game title... but yes dig out your rockets, and mid-range deterrents! Honestly though, have you come back off a few months hiatus; because mid-range has been the rule for a while now.

Honestly though, have you come back off a few months hiatus; because mid-range has been the rule for a while now. I've been playing steadily and with an all knifer hangar for the past 2 months. I found Plasmahad to be the beast before the 2.9 update. Now my RDB Rhino is pretty awesome (...and I've never used that combination until 2 days ago)! So I guess playstyle not withstanding, that is a pretty big shift (at least for me) from a premier knife fighter running plasma to a flanker with mid-range rockets...
