Seems like they're trying to snag cash from noobs before they "know better". The question I pose to Pix is... "How do you think those players are going to react when they find out what the 'real' cost of 2x Mags is..." If it was me (once I hit level 20 and wsp unlocks) I'm uninstalling because I'm gonna feel taken advantage of. But hey, you Hoodwinked them early on didn't you Pix... *Golf clap*

I swear there's some guy at Pix whose only job is to make up these ridiculous prices.

The thing that gets me is that they did some legitimate sales before. I remember picking up Orkans last year when it was $5 or $6 (normal $10). It was a good deal and was completely inline with the IAP prices.
Don't know why they suddenly went off the deep end with these new prices...

Remember when 1 Taran + 1 Magnum = $75 ? Turn out with this 2 Magnum deal we know that the Taran worth $1 more than the Magnum, meaning $1 = 5625 - 3750 = 1875 WsP. So it mean 2 Magnums = 7500 WsP = $4.

Totally agree with thread starter, if Pix want to retain player, this is not the way. On the other hand if pix want to grab money when newbie player start the game and the interest is still high, maybe, but War Robots will not last that way.

IAPs target the 1% that don't care. What's $75 to say a Chinese kid whose parents could blow $250k on baccarat that weekend?
Easier making money from a few where money is no object than to worry about correct pricing from the masses. That said if Pix doesn't make what they project they can always adjust.

Got to agree I found the sale price just down offensive 100 bucks for a stalker and aphids. Please post here if you bought that. That pricing policy can only lead to ruin. At least if the prices are that ludicrous it can't be pay to win.....

Shameful. Sends a message about the direction this game is heading.

I would agree with OP and comment that any gamer that would buy it doesn't need the money and doesn't care. With that said, players that are new and dont think that it is: *reasonable *affordable *would ever spend that money on a game or for a game *would ever spend that money in a game purchase
What impression is left on those players. I could see some players just bailing out seeing those prices. New to a FTP game and seeing a couple weapons for $70..... I'm outta here could be their next move.

Consider offers may be tailored to audience. My lower level Android account was instead pitched a bundle deal on Leo/Grif/Nat.

I have a Stalker with a paintjob you can buy off me for $40 ;-) ... a couple of Mags Lvl 7/8 $50

Having CVed for mobile games I do get briefed on pricing decisions. Analytics show 1-2% of players contribute to 85-95% of revenue. Look at it this way, one kid who gets his hands on parents passcode could spend thousands, that would equal a thousand players spend a reasonable $1 each. Having exorbitant proves just means this hypothetical kid has to make fewer purchases before his parents clues in. Then look at Game of War where a dude spent $1M defrauding his employer, to Pix it doesn't matter where the money came from only that it got there. The pricing is pretty smart for targeting the rich/young/dumb/fraudulent.

Also this game attracts all walks of life. Among the friends I play with we have bankers, docs, lawyers etc. say Pix gets lucky and gets a hedge manager who loves the game...$75 is pretty much invisible to guys earning 4-500K BONUSES.

Not only that, but the customer service department has access to the contributions (I've been told there is a rating involved) and will absolutely do whatever they can to keep the "whales" happy. This is also true of social media players who keep the buzz about a game positive.

This is also true of social media players who keep the buzz about a game positive. I don't see anything wrong with it personally. It keeps the pay to win problems away from 95% of the player base and the small minority affects the overall game meta a lot less. Whales are a funny lot. I've seen requests for a security detail for literally unknown people facing absolutely zero threat. They acquire the services simply to be seen having them. It was pretty ironic to see said person pass away 2 weeks later trying to burrow his vehicle through a sand dune at...200+ km/h

I think there is logic to this. It's completely idiotic. But here goes: You can buy Gold for real money. You can buy AG for Gold. You can buy WSP for AG. You do the exchange rate, you get these stupid prices.
basically the logic is WSP is incredibly expensive (when we all know it isn't). The AG and Gold offers are much more reasonable because they don't have to do these barmy exchange rates.

So...in Pixo's mind, during the events, they are giving us thousands of dollars worth of swag?

During the last event I received a free stalker, skinned as an alligator, as well as an aphid, a magnum, and a gekko. And a taran. So that's like...400 dollars at least, right?

Ooooo, where do I find the gullible noobs who will be taken in by these ridiculous offers? I've got whole hangers of silver bots with upgrades already on them and their weapons I'll sell them for $99.99 each or two hangers for $209.99.

So...in Pixo's mind, during the events, they are giving us thousands of dollars worth of swag? No they are creating demand for higher priced gear as players that didn't get them will want them now that larger numbers are around. It's creating demand.

I actually think it's GOOD they are priced so high.
Why? Because if it were lower people would have legitimate arguments that the game was turning into pay to win. With these prices, the percentage of players who buy them will remain small and it won't have a massive effect on the general playing experience of a new player who can not afford to buy a Magnum with real money (seriously guys, it doesn't take that long to save up the workshop points for a magnum).
If you just accept that these sales are only purposed for the very small percentage of players who pay such a sum, I don't see why you should have such a problem with it. These sales aren't intended for you - move on.

All of Pixo's price conversions from Ag and especially WSP are ludicrous. They seem to be based on the cost to buy them outright, immediately using Au and then translating the cost into how much that gold would cost.

No, they're just trying to sell to casual players who don't have much time to play as much as hardcore players. How long does it take casual players to reach level 20 and to collect enough workshop points to buy two magnums? They're selling to players who want stuff instantly. Everyone doesn't want to nor have to work to get what you waited weeks to get.

These terrible sale prices really annoy me. I would spend money if there was an actual deal, but mostly it's just insultingly high prices.
