yes, it's late, but I feel like as soon as I started to be able to clobber clubbers, a new breed of them, the hated Aphid gepards, emerged.
what do you guys do to combat them?

Ironically, they're actually easy to kill with a taran cossack; especially if you get really close.

Side strafe in a light bot and you won't take even a single bit of damage. How to deal with them in gold tier? Spiral bots or midrange. Catching them with a knife fighter is impossible without the help of a teammate.

i wish there wasn't, but yeah unfortunately there are many spiral bots in gold. Hydra/spiral griff really annoying, and they actually do a lot of damage if they're leveled enough. Watch acethunder 's latest video to see him get bombarded by them lol |

TEACH ME SENPAI just side strafe, if they fire their entire salvo at you then jump to the side, if they fire individually do not jump or you will likely die, as they will fire their remaining aphids when you are at your weakest: in your jump delay frames. |

This. If you jump, you die. Also I noticed aphids have a hard time locking on when target's too close. |

Keep moving and use cover, even the slowest bot can avoid some damage if they keep moving.
