So you have a bot with a special ability you don't use...... Your argument is getting worse and worse. Why not use a good bot then like a carnage? No, I do use its special ability - the one to climb. I can avoid plasma and rockets, that's why I prefer it to bastion. I do use a Carnage, usually a Thunder one.

If I am packing missiles and see a Rajin.... it becomes priority one. It's worth about 60k silver all on it's own!
Same firepower as a Carnage, with no ability to get into fire positions quickly and no ability to get out of fire quickly.

OT, but sorta related -- funny scene at the end of a really close game today. Blue was up 4 beacons to 1, but we'd been behind most of the game so we were catching up. If we could just manage to stay alive, we'd have won. It was down to one bot each -- both Raijins, both equipped with two Thunders, about 50m apart just blasting at each other doing zero damage until the blue team guy's shield finally failed. Funny as hell to watch up to that point, and then it was sad watching our victory get blasted down the drain.

I think that rajins have a place on a few maps. A treb Rajin on Yam is a terror. (Faced one this morning - killed two of my bots - we barely won).
But with the current trend of not being able to skip maps (not that I ever did) I just can't see having a slow sniper with limited ability on a small map.

Raijin does better than other bots like Trident Fury or Carnage Trident on small maps. The elevated position allows it to see more of the map, so it doesn't need its speed as much. Still faster than a Fury to boot. Overall, give me a Trident Raijin on small maps instead of Fury or Carnage.

My playstyle is different, and this mini guide tries to explain my way of playing that I haven't seen anyone else use. I think if people use its special ability more (the climbing one), then the reputation of the Raijin will change.

I don't like fury much on small maps either.

how exactly are u supposed to practice climbing without ruining a match? That's what test server is for I cant believe this, but climbing was nerfed. Since the update, I can't climb some buildings anymore. I guess someone must have thought it was OP if they had to nerf it. Or maybe Pix saw my matches, and how much damage I was doing while staying alive the entire time. Nah, just would just be tin foil theory crafting.

That's what test server is for oh You can climb on the test server. I just do trial by fire, and I'll put unleveled bots and weapons from the event and start using them. Not only do you need to learn how to climb, you need to learn how to fight Champions and Masters. I played a bunch of games against them today and yesterday, and learned quite a bit about fighting with the Raijin that I would not get from playing in Diamond or Expert players. In case you didn't know, Expert tier gets lumped with Champion guys sometimes. Overall my poor 8/10 Trident Raijin held his own against max level RDB and Fury Champion players. I'm still developing my skills and tactics against them.
