This message is in English. Para la versión en español (a través de Google Translate), por favor vea esta publicación. Hello, this is perfectlyGoodInk, one of DOOM’s officers. I think we should start off just introducing ourselves, perhaps mention where you’re from, how/why you joined Clan DOOM, your favorite role(s) in the game, any opinions or thoughts on directions/goals/policies for the clan, and anything else you'd like us to know. Me, I was invited, saw that players here weren’t running hangars to get easy dominating wins (i.e., seal clubbing), and I have greatly enjoyed squadding with folks here. I definitely find it satisfying to be smashing things up with my Thunder/Taran Boas, but I do very much enjoy beacon capturing in the Cossack and mid-range support in the quad-CRV Pin Patton. I must also admit I enjoyed sniping but don’t believe it to important enough to regularly do when I only have 4 slots. I guess all that really means that I love variety. I usually play in the Low Silver Tier with 4/7 medium/light bots but occasionally play High Silver to learn how to pilot Griffins. I met my wife during volunteer cleanup at the Burning Man festival (we have both been there several times), and she's now in graduate school studying music composition. I work in educational technology in Austin, TX, reviewing the content accuracy of homework questions for college introductory statistics. We're raising two boys: a 1-year-old and 5-year-old. I used to be a software engineer in the San Jose, CA area for many years, spent a little time teaching college economics, and also spent a summer as an intern to a think-tank in Washington, D.C. (I will not mention which one because there's a ban on talking about politics on this forum). I’m also a huge science-fiction and comic book nerd ( The Uncanny X-Men & The Avengers). If you are interested in the Wiki's hangar advice, please see the Upgrading Guide and other resources here (I also swear by Strayed’s Gold and WSP purchase guides). I think we can improve our clan’s standing and enjoy matches more if we follow some of these recommendations, such as prioritizing getting the 4th robot slot, leveling weapons at least 2 higher than robots, and only using light and medium robots until you have level 8 weapons. Thank you, and I'll see y'all out on the battlefield!

This is the Spanish version of this post. También soy un gran nerd de ciencia ficción y cómic (The Uncanny X-Men & The Avengers).

Sure thing, thanks for checking in!
It's fine to do long-range sniping, but I suggest having only one robot in your hangar doing that with the other bots doing closer-range combat. You will help your team out a lot more that way. Mid-range is somewhat similar, where you use weapons with about 500-600 m (e.g. CRV Pins, Tulumbas, and Tridents) to help your teammates fighting closer to the enemy, and due to the higher damage from these rockets, it's a lot more helpful than sniping.
Just a suggestion. Thanks again!

Hey fellow DOOMers. This is Trogon Z. I live in Maryland, USA. I think I mostly run in low silver, with 4/8 mediums. I'm soon going to try to start leveling up a hangar of heavies. After going solo for a while now, I'm getting tired of always losing games because my team runs out of bots. So I decided to give this clan thing a try. I liked the approach to the game that I saw in this clan. I hope we can get some good squads going.

Hey, welcome aboard! I'd seen you around on the forums and recognized you in the list of pending invites, so I invited you again when that invite expired or whatever (helped that you have a solid hangar). There are a few of us that run 4/6-8, including myself, zenno (Gamma Burst in the game), and Rafazor. You'll want to signal to myself or Rafazor which tier you want to play, as we both usually play in High Silver (I also dip into Bronze with Ecu or Punisher Cossacks). There are a couple of others I can't remember. Most of the rest run 6/6-8, but squadding with them is usually alright as well, albeit a bit rougher. It's pretty active. There's almost always someone online at any given time, but I've only been in a full 6-member squad once. Most of the time, they're 2-4 folks. Everyone's pretty friendly, and from all over. Rafazor and Leandro are from Brazil, Cobalter from Canada, I'm from Texas. We also seem to have quite a few Spanish-speakers. And we all seem to dislike seal-clubbing. The only time I saw one in the clan, they got kicked out before I even had a chance to complain about them. Anyway, please spread the word about this thread whenever you squad with clanmates. All the 3-slot 6/6 folks would definitely benefit from the advice on the wiki, and I think it'll be much easier to communicate with the Spanish-speaking contingent via web posts than mobile chat. Thanks, and be seeing you out there!

I'd just like to give a shout out to DOOM for not accepting members who blatantly club. DOOM will always have a friend in ?I?ITT€??, who has a strong anti-clubbing philosophy. In fact, we take a certain degree of pleasure in hunting them down and destroying them utterly.
Fire true, DOOM.

I'm solidly silver at the moment, although based on what I've read here and the wiki, I thought 4/8 mediums is Last Stand, not HS. Not that the label matters that much. I actually squadded with leandro and cobalter and someone else (can't remember) last night. Matches were a lot of fun, a little more challenging than I usually face running solo, but I did fine and enjoyed it a lot. The next thing I want to try for is some 6/7 or 6/8 heavies, although it will be a while before I have that hangar ready. Pretty sure 6/8 heavy is HS. Also, sent you a PM

Hey guys! Can I join? Ok, the Clan Name isn't so funny, but Ink is. I really enjoy bis posts. I usually play in high Bronze, or low silver. I run a four slot Hangar, with 3 meds and a light. All bots are 4\6. Yes, the light is a Gepard, but I dont club, I think. Normally, I play every match to the very end, I dont eject, when my opponent is better and I try to support the blues, even if could get more damage, or advance my beacon count. Mostly, I prefer plasma weapons, mixed with missiles. Oh, and I'm building some Griffins to 6\8.
Edit: my ID is CGZBB5, i hope...

Aw, thanks, [AurN]Zenotaph ! Yeah, I enjoy your posts, too, and we could certainly use more players who know how MM works. We're full at the moment, but slots usually free up within a couple of days. I see your profile, and I'll shoot you an invite when I can. That you have four slots puts you a leg up on a lot of our guys. I personally don't mind a Gepard as part of a balanced lineup, and I wouldn't call a 70% winrate as a typical seal-clubber rate. However, as we haven't gotten all the officers to this thread yet to get on the same page for requirements, there might be some who might kick a player out based on that (the guy who invited me ran a tri-Noricum Gepard, and he's no longer in the clan for some reason). That being said, Trogon Z has a Gep, and nobody's kicked him out. But in terms of honing your own skills, you are probably better off switching to something that gets more use in the higher tiers anyway. Up to you, though. I'll invite you either way. Shoot, I mix up high bronze and low silver all the time. I need to go back and study that Wiki some more! Anyway, there are a handful of us that have 4/6-8 hangars (see above), but you'll probably be able to pull your weight in the silver matches. Most folks are pretty easy-going (well, except HENRY ZAPATA, who yells at campers... can't say I really blame him too much for that, though). And well, I do have the power to kick out anyone who's mean. >

I was definitely thinking of submitting a request to join the Kittens when I got invited here, and then I figured I could probably help these guys a lot more than I could help y'all (I know y'all could do tons to help me learn, but I'm not dissatisfied with my progress so far). Keep on keeping on!

The gep is my beacon capper. I dont like the idea of using just the same weapons in one bot, So its armed with two mags and a pinata. Same as my Patton. Two mags, two pinatas...
Almost every day, I play one, or two matches with my two Griffins, to get a hang of it. But only one of them is fully 6\8. The other one is, well, developing... I plan to add a WSP-bot, for a full silver-hangar.
Full, right now? My luck. I got one Clan invite in all my time. But that was a clubber Clan, so I declined.

My Griffins are 6/7, and my Griffin skills are... um... rather lower than that (except the Russian DB, as I seem to be getting the hang of that one), and that's enough for me to hold my own when I squad with the High Silver folks. I'm guessing your Gep will probably be fine. Matcam is a long-time member, and he has one as well. But I can't yet tell what the other officers are running on when they kick someone out. Yeah, I'm around where you are, and I'm still not sure what to do for beacon capper in High Silver, as it seems Stalker is the most effective but not nearly that useful in Gold, so I'm a bit leery of spending WSP on it. For the moment, I've been using my TT L4 Boas, which seem to work alright (and it amuses me to no end to use them as beacon runners). I've just tried out a dual-Pinata Destrier for the first time today. It works great in Low Silver or High Bronze, but I don't think it'll hold up in High Silver. Maybe with an Ecu? Anyway, just hang in there, and a spot will probably open up in a day or two. This game's all about patience, y'know.

Well, I've got a tri-pin gep, and I've never considered that to be clubbing since the rest of my hangar is mediums that are balanced with it. Now if I ran a full hangar of 1/5 (bronze) or 4/11 (silver) mag geps, THAT would be clubbing. If some of the officers want to kick me out because of my gep, oh well

Hello. I've been running solo for a while now and have been looking to change that. Been looking through the forums and your clan seems pretty cool. Thr most fun I've had playing here was the rare times I ran around with some random playing wrecking havoc together. My hangar usually consists of mediums that average around 500 points (+20% for WS mechs), though I have a couple heavies that I'm fond of. I prefer ambushing and working together with others. I don't run any long range snipers and I don't seal club. I tried attaching a pic of my hangar. No idea if it will work. But thanks for the time, and I'd look forward to being on your waiting list if possible. Attachment Deleted

I mean, I have no idea what would work well, and for some reason, haven't yet tried the Cossack, assuming it wouldn't have enough armor to be usable. Yes, I was being sarcastic (and am frequently so) about the 2 Ecu Destrier, although I think I'll try it at some point. Maybe now...
