I seem to have reached a plateau in the 1600's. Whenever I make gold, which has happened several times, I get slammed around by the upgraded competition and slip back into silver. I am not married to any particular playing style or bot, though I tend toward playing too aggressively. Please note that I do not buy gold, so saving up for a large gold purchase is time consuming. My current hangar (upgrading the level 7 Zeus on the Carnage) is as follows:
To complete the information:
I have 534 Gold, 106 million Silver (it just keeps piling up!), and 12,350 workshop points.
Other bots include
Stalker, Level 1 (x2) (got both in the recent contest) Fujin, Level 5 Natasha, Level 6 Leo, Level 8
Other weapons include:
Light: Punisher, Level 8 Molot, Level 8 (x2) Gekko , Level 8 Aphid, Level 7 (x2) Gekko, Level 1 (got it in the recent contest) Assorted lower level Pins, Pinatas, Punishers and Molots
Medium: Punisher Mk2, Level 5 Hydra, Level 7 Tulumbas, Level 5 Hydra, Level 1 (got it in the recent contest) Assorted lower level Punisher Mk2s and Molot Mk2s
Heavy: Trebuchet, Level 8 Kang Dae, Level 6 Thunder, Level 8 Assorted lower level Thunders and Kang Daes
So, what should I be purchasing/saving for? Should I switch anything out immediately, based upon my current bot/weapon inventory?

Keep upgrading Zeus taran mag carnage Griff aphid. Save gold and buy galahad and replace ur stalker with it. Try aphid on stalker it work well.
In heigher league people use following weapon and bot so keep these in mind purchase it and upgrade only these. Taran mag aphid orkan thunder trident Zeus pinata ancile. Lance fury galahad Griff carnage gareth

Looking good Anon, +1 to the aphids on the stalker. And like stated above, a Galahad would do your playstyle and hangar good.

I think the pdb Griff might be better as a stuka taran aphid. The stalker gets the magnums off it. Pick up a trident in wsp, then a second carnage possibly and mount them both on it. The weakest bot I'm seeing is the trident punisher Leo, which would be better as either a carnage or converted to thunder punisher. I think Save gold for now and look at either a Galahad or two orkans after the dash bots get released. I have a sneaking suspicion that Galahad is about to take a small step back when the missile update goes live.
Gold matches tend to favor strong midrange since there are so many Griff's, Gareth's, and Galahads in it that get eaten by trident. If it winds up being too much midrange, could also pop thunders on carnage and go to town.

That Stalker needs to go. You can't get any damage with it, and it might get you 1 contested centre beacon before getting destroyed or severely crippled. Instead, start with the Carnage or Griffin if you want to grab an early beacon, and go for the MoC gold. So put 2 Magnums or 2 Aphids on the Stalker if you want to keep it, otherwise you'll need to buy a new bot.
Your second Leo, I would change to either 3x Punishers, 1x Thunder. Or change to 3x Pins, 1x Trident. Latter is prolly better, and it gives you long range. Punishers+Thunder do a lot of damage < 150m, but 150m - 350m is no man's land.
Your first Leo, I think it's ok. But the weapons don't match. Meaning the effective range of Thunder is < 150, while Magnum is < 350. Depending on what you do with your other Leo, look to replace one of them soon.
Your Griffin and Carnage can stay.
If you replace your Stalker first, go with either Gareth or Galahad. If you replace a Leo first, go with a Galahad.

Next gold purchases for you should be 4x Orkans and a Galahad to replace one of the Leos. As for now, replace the Pinata Magnum Leo with a Thunder Pinata Leo and the other Leo with a Thunder Magnums one. Keep the Griffin until you get 2x Orkans, where you should place Orkan Pinatas on it (until you get Orkans). Remove the Ecu from the Stalker and put 2x Aphids instead of one.

First off, you did say you tend to play too aggressively. That's the first thing that needs to be changed if you want to move up the leagues. Be more patient, pick your spots, play to your bots' strengths and find ways to mask their weaknesses (e.g. your Zeus Carnage - I hope you don't stand out in the open too long, just because you wanna wear down the shield on the britbot you're zapping).
Second, it would be better if you matched weapons on your bots, because it then allows you to play a certain style on that bot. For example, your first Leo - it has a Pinata, which is ideally a pop-and-hide weapon, and Magnums, which is a long exposure kind of weapon. A third Magnum would maximize the effect better. Your Punishers too - although they're marked with a 500m max range, they're ideally used below 350m.
Recommendations - RDB Griffin is probably one of the cheapest solid builds you can get. Griffin + 2 PINs + 2 Tulumbas. This can replace your Trident Leo. Keep the PDB Griffin. Stalker - lose the eCU. Either 2 aphids or 2 Pinatas. 2 magnums would also work to an extent, but I prefer Aphids, since it's not dependent on stealth ability to use. For now you can keep the Leo, but make it a Thunder with all Pinatas or all Magnums.
Lastly, what to save up for - if you really like the Stalker, I suggest Gareth. But personally, I prefer plasma Galahads - they're a really good balance of speed, toughness and firepower. They can be a bit boring, though. Orkans, too. If you do put together a RDB Griffin, best to eventually convert that to a DB Griffin. Very good hit-and-run bot. That should keep you busy for a while.

From left to right:
Leo: Pinata=>Magnum. IMO utilizing Thunder will be more and more complicated (Leo is slow) => as a long term goal I'd think about another knifefighter, e.g. Rhino Orkan/Taran + Magnum or Plasmahad. Leo: if this slot shall be midranger, I'd pick Natasha Trident + Molot or Gekko. Almost all items on stock. In any case, I'd change Punishers for something else (Pin/Molot/Gekko). However, if you want to play aggressively, this should be another knifefighter (see above). Griffin: OK Carnage: OK Stalker: Ecu => Aphid. If you fail to hide, Ecu won't save you.
