i run a dragoon and three magnums you can start shooting at a distance and just close in for the kill with the magnums while never letting up on the fire button. zeus dont work as well since they are quick burst shoot and hide weapon best suited for someithing with speed. thunder and tripple gust also work really well at taking down ancil sheilds as well as anyone with a physical shield.

On my random team, I saw an Mk2 Dragoon Marquess Leo wrecking the deck on Canyon. I stood by watching:

Having fun with my Thunder Gust Leo. It's weak sauce when I get a bunch of champs on the field, but still fun with expert-master randoms.

My friend runs a laser leo, it is so good in all of masters and even champs that he only puts it in for squad play because HE WAS MOVING UP RANKS FAR TOO FAST. He finally dropped his win ratio below 75% after it came out of his hanger, I still can't believe what 3 mk2 lv12 gekkos and a mk1 lv10 flux can do to an ares in a couple of seconds... I was on the receiving end if it once as well and, dear lord my falcon died to it and my butch trebs. Finally killed it with strider but still, holy *

I occasionally run an Exodus/Gust Leo for brick fighting. DPS is crazy at point blank.

Having fun with my Thunder Gust Leo. It's weak sauce when I get a bunch of champs on the field, but still fun with expert-master randoms. I've got a L11 Thunder with a L9 Gust sidesaddle and two L10 Magnums on the outboards, and inside 350m and closing, it's lots of fun to wade through scrums just chopping away at health.

The Leo is just SOOOO SLOOOOW that close-range setups can be difficult to bring to bear.
Anyone ever tried Viper + 3 x Shredders?

Save up for an Avenger and pair it with punishers. The Avenger is something you can use all the way to the highest league and has amazing damage. The leo is so slow that you want something that can hit hard, but can also reach far.
If you want to get fancy you can replace 1 punisher with a Halo or Shredder. These will also last you a long time.

I run a Mk1 L12 Leo with a Mk1 L12 Avenger and three Mk1 L 12 Punishers. There are times when the Reds melt before my awsome lead spewing machine. Good for a few kills for sure.

I finally got a Glory to replace the neutered Thunder. The 3x gusts hit hard, but the Leo is - as it always has been - a slow silver mine. So I shuffled weapons and put the Avenger/Punishers on my Leo for little more range. So far I like it well enough. I'm a fan of shot and bullets. I do miss the punch of the gusts on it but this build makes more sense if I'm going to keep the Leo in service.
Might look at leveling up some gekkos for one long range build (though a Natty makes sense for that). I hate long range almost as much as I hate the Ares.

Having trouble finding a decent setup that works, Haven't got the most extensive armoury in the world (due to being fairly rookie) but I really want to make use of the Leo. Any suggestions? Thanks There are so many setups for Leo, I can't even name them all. Gusts and a Thunder or an Avenger and Punishers works well. So does Thunder and Pinatas as well as Thunder Gust and two Magnums

I love reading through these old posts to see how the advice changes through time.
Overall, Leo is obsolete (raw durability just doesn't cut it anymore) although a good Drone could give it new life.
I'm running Viper/Shredders on my low level account...max level Leo with level 9 weapons. Currently OP for my League, as the recent "adjustment" dropped me from Expert I to Diamond III and I haven't played enough matches yet to climb back to my proper spot (the rest of my hangas is level 6-8 weapons and Bots). Definitely a weapon set that should NOT be underestimated.

Have'nt played in a long time, but I would say taht some old setups still work. I Still run the pinata/thunder leo, at lv 4, and destroyed some bots. yes, it might be outdated, but it is still not one to be messed with. did some sweet damage to titan with that setup. basically, DB setups are good, but in higher leges, I would not recommend these setups for a lot of reasons. if you are just starting out, then this is a good setup powerful, and cheap.

I’m partial to a venom build: Mk3 Leo, L11 Viper, mk2 Stings, Midea in the cockpit, The Eye as wingman (wingthing?).
Only thing(s) wrong with it are, it’s SLOW, and…it simply isn’t durable *enough* to survive long these days.

Honestly, it pains me to say it, Leo in my opinion is basically obsolete, even for a budget bot. Sure it has a bunch of health, but it is just so slow and so big it is just a walking bag a silver. Right now, Natasha outclasses it in essentially every regard, dropping a little bit of health in exchange for better firepower and 4 kph more speed, a trade more than worth it. Unless you really like the extra health over both speed and firepower, or are nostalgic for the bot, I advise to stay away from Leo.

Mine's literally maxed out to Mk3, has all the best pilot skills, but I had to equip 600m weapons and a shield drone to have any chance of persisting for a couple of minutes in games recently. It's depressing, really.

I used to run either Tempest / Molot for mid range / short range biggest problem is the reload time of 10 seconds or Redeemer / Magnum for short range. Magnum's never run out of ammo it's just the Redeemer you need to reload after 8 shots but at 5 seconds it's not bad. T/M is good against physical shields R/M passes through energy shields.

I still enjoy the Deathstar with lock down ammo, and have good games with Hel/Snaer/2x Scald build, a surprising build.
