Hey, I won a butch but i don't know what to put on it. I'm a close rage guy so any suggestions would help.

You may be a close-range pilot, but Boootch is not a close-range mech. Does poorly at medium ranges as well, in my experience. You're welcome to try different load-outs, but all I can really recommend is slapping trebuchets on it and using it as a designated marksman.

yep, trebs about al that work. Only other option is to put 2 trebs and 2 tridents so you have a range / scenario option That's what I go with. Still one of the last choices to pull out in a fight though.

Try quad thunder butch, you can play it as a "just for fun" bot.I've heard others are having fun with a triple thunder fury and the butch is not much so different. The butch is faster and basically have the same hp as a fury, use the quick draw to unleash another set of hell when your other set is loading if you didn't killed that red yet.Or you can go thunder zues, the zues for some reach at 600m,and thunders for some hell under 200m.

Thunder Zeus sounds interesting, since I have a surplus on Thunders. I have been considering purchasing either a pair of Tridents or a pair of Trebs for my Butch, but hasn't made any decision yet.

I also won one and as I only have one treb (recently won and not upgraded) I opted for zeus's and tridents. It's not the best performer, but it's fun to hit those pesky reds with the tri's then switch to zeus for an immediate zapping (it locks on even when holstered), followed to two or three more zaps then a switch back to the tri's.
I've found a few times that Red's trying to hide behind cover from the tridents will then pop out once they've been fired, thinking they're in the clear, only to take the lighting right in the face - good times...
The setup also obviously gives the means to hit and hurt pretty much anything other than an face-on ancilot. I think ultimately though, 4 x treb is probably the most effective set-up and I can't see it working with thunders - too slow and with no shield, too squishy in close quarters.

I did the Zeus/Trident combo while I was waiting for a forth trident to get up to a respectable level.
I found it useful as well. I did consider the Zeus/Thunder combo but figured if anyone got within 200m it'd be all over anyway.

4 trebs for me. Same damage as a fury over 30 seconds but with better mobility.

Park him in the garage and take him out for a once a month drive, that's what I've done with all 3 or my more or less useless wild bunch bots. Got them for novelty, and learned that's all they ever really could be..... OK, thats where you are wrong. all three of them are beasts if they are piloted right

Not having enough weapons levelled to do four of anything. I've tried tri/zues, tri thunder (NO), Treb trident.
Best results I've had are treb zues. Shoot with treb until they get within 600 m then start with zues. Retreat as you go.
My butch is very low level and the weapons are only 7-8 (my hangar is 9-10) so results are less than ideal.

I have ran into several butches, i find the quad treb butch and hybrid (trident/zeus) butch to be the most effective of all. One offers great damage per salvo and the latter offer versatility.
Just now i met a quad zenit one, that son of a butch is annoying as hell. He kept lobbing lvl 8 zenits from spawn nonstop, not moving at all, and racked almost 350k dmg.
And during event i met a zeus/trident butch in yam. He mainly used zeus, and switched to trident to kill shield bots. Smart guy, and his damage was great too.

Still saving gold for 1 more Zeus for the Zeus/Trdent combo.

Good news! Tridents go boom even at close range.
Better news! Tridents allow you to spread love to reds 250m earlier than with e.g. Tarans.
Conclusion: get 4, upgrade the and start giving warm hugs.
PS: you could also try to mix in a pair of thunders, but Butch'ies life expectations would be rather shorter than "live long and prosper".

Consider the internet may not be the right place for you if you get set off so easy. Butch is the Mech's name. Easy leap to crack wise about it. Actually... disregard my last. Lets petition Pixonic to change the name of the Butch to something less offensive and terrible. We'll go with that. File the paperwork and get back to me, if you would be so kind.

Can't tell if joking or serious.
Instructions unclear... Got No-No parts caught in ceiling fan.
(I don't care what name is proposed. Just trying to occupy the time of others so they ideally have less time to post drivel)
Edit: Done derailing. Won't be participating again.

I don't have one, I don't want one, and if I get one, I'll most likely sell it for silver.
However...
The most devastating Butch build I've encountered was the Trident/Trebuchet combo. It fired Tridents while the Trebs charged, and switched weapons depending on what it was shooting at.
If it's trebs only, I'll charge that thing with my Galahad. Tridents only? Here comes my Carnage.
2 of each... now I'm screwed. Best to just stay on the other side of the map where he can't get me.

Love that build, I can move between 600 and 1100m and smack everyone in the face. I'm usually well protected by my clan mates, and they can expect that reds only arrive with 50% Health. And I still capture beacons. When solo I am looking for ever threat at the horizon, plasmaheads get the first treebuchet blow when they charge with shield rised, and then get crippled by the trident. And before I die someone still has to eat the meanwhile fully charged treebuchets. And with 35kmh he is quite a good platform to position itself, or move into cover.

One thing to "crack wise", another to advocate, however in a joking way physical violence to conform someone to dual view of genders. Which, is a pretty big issue in rest of the world right now. I don't know what you consider "set off", but just as that person deserves their right to crack sexist jokes, so do I deserve to feel annoyed at them. And , just to point this out, in reference to your next post about how this is "drivel" and the petition idea is to keep me busy, people do change names of stuff that is insensitive to others.

I'm going to have to disagree. 4x Trident butch is deadly. That's 12 missiles each dealing splash damage around 6-10k damage? The strategy against carnages is to use the first six to melt the ancile, and the next six to intimidate, if the carnage is not put off, just hope ut doesn't reach you when you don't have support. As Far as my knowledge, Carnages possess some supremely low health, and a salvo that deals 36,000 damage is off-putting. Great against all BritBots due to the splash damage, and is hyper effective against Gareth and Galahads (The more dangerous to the rest of the team). Works well against Rhino, Gareth, Galahad, Lancelot, and Beacon Runners. People often make the mistake of thinking Tridents are harmless. 4 tridents, which is ((3 x 4) x 6000) = 72,000 when accurately placed. Downside to this is that 4 tridents are 7500 x 4 WSP, 30k WSP and that may not be worth it. IMHO I don't like butch at all due to slow switch time, slow speed. No amount of firepower replaces such terrible efficiency to me.

Like martial arts, the effectiveness of a mech depends on the pilot, not the mech. There are of course some obvious pro's and con's, but what I've found during the recent event is the significant increase in the intensity of battles forced us to refine our skills more quickly. With respect to Butch, it depends really on if you wanna focus on LR or a combo of LR/MR, and it doesn't have to be one or the other, obviously you can change it to suit mood. What I have found as the most effective use of Butch is to stay near cover, keep moving, and have a load out of 2 trebs/2 zeus, 2 thunder/2zeus. It is inevitable in the majority of battles that a MR-SR knife fight will start, so having the shorter ranged zeus or thunder is excellent, particularly due to low countdowns. I see people complaining here and there about Butch. Rather than complaining and blaming the supposed inadequacies of a mech, we need to examine the inadequacies of our piloting the particular mech we're complaining about, seriously. There is a lot to be said about the many subtle nuances of piloting - knowing your ranges well, how to use each weapon effectively, knowing timing, positioning, countdowns, effective use of terrain for cover and mobility and so on. I know I'm singing to the choir, but why complain about the coolest looking mech in the hangar gathering dust when you can enjoy refining the skills to pilot such a beast to great effect. Your team needs your skillful piloting of Butch. Same goes for all the mechs including Jesse and Doc. Time ta git er done. Boooom Boooom, Boooom Boooom!

Well, this QuadZenit Butch on Powerplant just got reds wiped from the map. I've said that somewhere else, and I repeat that - the secret was to aim at beacons, not at bots.
1) you can't hit bot with Zenit on purpose, except for Bastioned Raijin or lazy Fury. So aim where they are GOING to be, not where they are now. 2) usually it's the light bots that capture beacons, and bombarding beacon with constant Zenit fire makes it absolutely impossible to stand there for ~10 second (we've had 3 to 2 beacon advantage). 3) Butch is VERY fragile, but on such small map it could safely be positioned on our base and still be hitting entire field.
