 So I unlocked my 5th hanger bay a few days ago and immediately put my old Cossack back into rotation. Unfortunately I'm finding him barely usable in my latest games, usually he'll disintegrated before capping any beacons or simply 1/2 shot if seen. So I want to replace him but the question is with what? As you can see my hanger has *1 capper *Mid ranger *2 knifers So I would like another capper or something that has the ability to move fast but defend a beacon. Current thoughts sit with a Plasma Golem or something with an ecu on it. Thoughts? |

Thunder taran magnum golem is very effective, I run on myself in my silver hanger (4/8). Depends on your resources, although a second capper is a good idea imo. I decided to stay in silver and upgrade my (hopefully)gold hanger in the background, so I splurged on two orkins early on and eventually a rog. LOVE the rog with dual orkins, can't wait to try it with dual tarans ? It's like a beacon capping boa that can jump lmao (also at 4/8). I am enjoying the medium bots and considering leveling them up for gold tier instead of heavies.

I would say more knifers. Knifers should be your staple in every hangar.
In fact, forget about dedicated cappers, as knifers are usually cappers as well, as you march in, you are fighting for beacons as well.

Yep. I've done quite well with 4 boas and a patton at that level before. Knifers will get beacons no problem.

Even if you are superb with them and keep them alive longer than anyone else, the damage potential is just lower than with most heavies. More weapons = more damage. NOT saying that you shouldn't use them, as there are some good roles for a Boa and Patton and, IMO even the Golem... buuut... You won't be in the top 3 if you are teamed up with other players at your same skill level that have DB Griffs and Rhinos, and Lancelots, etc. And the ones that have similar output (like the Leo vs the Golum) have higher HP. And, while I have talked to 1 person who was still using the Rog in Au and loved it, they are the only one. I didn't like mine in gold. I hate that I upgraded it past 4 now. Oh well. |
