Hi all..
I go by Critical[]Mass in the game.. I am a solo player.. I have tried Clans, I have yet to see any benefit by being in one..
I have been playing the game for about 3-4 Months..
I was a heavy player in "Alpha-Wars" for 3 years.. Just left that game resetting all my 8 accounts there, as the game got boring, while investing every spare minute and it was costing 400-700 a month to play real competitive .. and I like to win, I am a very competitive person..
I work in Management in the Transportation Industry and I am also a Professional Photographer in the Music Industry and shoot for several magazines.. So my life is full..
I got into War Robots because I could log in, play a few matches and get out.. My play time is about 90-mins per day
I have been hating the new changes to the scoring system, as it doesn't allow you to get ahead.. the penalty for losing is VERY VERY VERY Punitive over something I have no control over in game play..
I like to keep myself balanced.. I am a brawler and also like to go after Beacons... As those are what wins the day..
But with the new current system.. You get punished for chasing beacons..
So I am getting kind of tired with the current game play that rewards snipers for sitting on the hillsides racking up points and not doing anything to enhance the game play of a battle.. they could care less if the game is won or loss, it seems like they only care about their points..
Earlier today I was in a match, where their was 4 people sniping from the hills and only two of us fighting for beacons to win the game.. We got crushed..
So.. whats the point.. I have dumped about 400-bucks into the game so far.. most everything is level 7, some to level 8, I am at level 30 ..
I-LOVE- the game... but I hate this scoring system..
So I may just bag the game.. I am looking for a game LIKE this that is fair.. But this one to hit me for 12-18 points on losing a match, when I was killing myself trying to win the game by capturing beacons while others just camp out on the sidelines with the long range weapons racking up points..
So whats the use of Beacons then??
Well... Sorry I got off the topic f introducing myself and mixing in a mini rant..
I will stick around for another week or so and see if things get fixed.. if not, I am probably going to move on to another game.. I am not going to drop more money into a game that punishes me for trying to win.. And if winning is not the goal. then what is..

You make some good points.
In my opinion, the loss of points isn't, "VERY VERY VERY Punitive", because it exactly balances the points awarded for winning.
Yes, too many snipers on a team sucks, but fortunately there aren't many great maps for snipers, really just Yamantau and Springfield, and if you use cover, you can mitigate most of their shots.

I don't care about snipers on the red team, as I can usually sneak around them and take them out.. But to me the loss of points IS "VERY VERY VERY Punitive" because when you are on a team with 4 people sniping.. you have no chance of winning... Unless the rare chance that they kill off the other teams players.. there is no one to grab beacons.. I just feel that the game at this moment is very unbalanced.. LOTS of rewards to kill, none for Beacons.. 5au for grabbing beacons.. aint much to bring home to mama.. And thanks.. I am hoping this game can fill my gaming needs.. lol.. Alpha Wars did for 3 years.. I dig the community and everything about gaming.. Kind of wish the world leaders would take to online gaming instead of the crazy 「dookie」 that they do.. BTW.. TOO bad there is no "HEAD to HEAD" grudge match to this game... I think it would be cool to do a 5-minute head to head, capture the flag type of game play..
Just a side thought..

I expect Pix makes more money from people trying to do more DPS (upgrading weapons and bots to lvl 12) than from trying to capture more beacons (speed caps at lvl 9).
They seem to care less about beacons... so there must be a reason...

Knowing the members on my squad will do what they are supposed to makes it easier to do what my part without worrying about it. Sounds like you are a player that Pix should try to keep... I hope they listen to us... I think the round-table proves that they might hear us, but no indication of whether or not they listen. Time will tell... but will you and players like you still be here to find out?

On the face value, they seem to be valuable.. But once in them, there is too much "Hey can you buy me some gold" ect.. goofy stuff.. then any real value.. There is no points for your "Clan" Squadding together .. no benefit for being in a clan.. Random thought, maybe there should be some type of payout for being in a Clan.. Or maybe I have not hit on the right Clan as of this moment.. But After trying 3 clans out.. I feel it is just as beneficial for me to be on my own and "squad" with others when you hit upon a good chemistry while playing solo.. I think what PIX has to worry about is if people are going to keep buying Gold for no real game play value.. And right now, to charge 1500-2500 or even 500 for a skin is dumb.. It is a greed thing from the developers.. They should give "Skins" as weekly awards to players who perform well.. Maybe (to promote "Clans" award skins to top players in Clans on a weekly basis.. (Just a thought) But first, they have to address their scoring with Beacons.. IMHO Anyway.. good chatting.. time to go to work.. (I always find a way to do a few matches at work)  |

And chat and joke and all that. It's not a random group... It's a small game community within the larger one. Most good clans are like that... Some are more social, some are more competitive... But they have legit folk who know what's up. ??. Squadding with clan mates can be more rewarding than randoms.. . Bc we learn each other's patterns and how to mesh those patterns to an effective whole. I dig it. |

I have been in 3, the first one, no one spoke english, I had no idea what was going on, so I bailed.. 2nd one had strict requirements on how much you had to play, since I work for a living and have 2 jobs.. I get on when i could, but cannot be on at specific times.. So they weren't happy with me and tossed me after 12-hours The 3rd one, two players kept asking anyone, any time they were on, if they could "gift" them some gold so they could play.. it was annoying, and also no one squadded all that much.. so I bailed on that.. :/ Maybe 5 times is the magic number.. lol.. I do appreciate the info and experience points you all bring up.. All good stuff and noted..  |
