Like the title says, I moved up a bit:  But now what? I could buy a heavy WSP-weapon. Maybe a Trident for my Boa. Another thing, I always wanted to do, but never had the guts, is changing one of the Pattons Pinatas to a ECU. Oh, I collect gold for a Gareth. Think, I got to mention that, too. Got about 700 AU, already. After that, it's the MEEEGAh-grind for my fifth slot. At least, that's my plan. I'm always open for suggestions. Gehe, if they make sense, that is. Edit: This isn't Bronze anymore, is it? |

I've never piloted one, but I've not heard great things about the Gareth, nor have they impressed me as opponents. I would say save up for 5th slot before any gold bots or weapons. With a 72% win rate, that can't really seem like a grind. It hasn't seemed grindish to me at all. I'm at 3,200 gold so far with only about 60% win rate (partially because I keep experimenting with new setups that I'm absolutely terrible with).
Dunno about the WSP. I myself am sitting on 3X Mags and 3X Tarans so far. I'm considering getting a Trident next myself, but I'm leaning 4th Magnum to try out a quad-Mag Patton first. You already have 4, so that doesn't apply to you.
Eh, I think it takes more guts to change an Ecu to a weapon than the other way around.

Yeah, I agree. There are threads elsewhere that say all the BritBots, Gareth included, face a pretty severe MM penalty.
And hey, shields are cool. That's a key part of the reason the BritBots look so cool.

Yeah, fifth slot should be your priority as it will allow you to hang in games longer plus run different set ups. Then after that, the world is your oyster.
1. I like to max out my weps in tier....so you could bring your light weps to 12 and med to 9. Don't move your bots up any more right now unless you want to go up to high silver/low gold
2. The Gareth has some fans...with a taran and pins it has some decent fighting power up close and good speed to nab beacons and get into/out of trouble. look up more of the threads on Gareths...many of the opinions are to go with the Galahad because of the greater firepower and you get the wsp penalty anyhow.

Gareth is not viable in higher tiers (past bronze) because near everyone uses physical shields there, so to counter, people use rockets/AoE weaps
Your shield will either break off before your bot breaks or your bot will break before the shield

The Gareth just looks so cool. It's more a "style over substance" thing for me. And the thing with the guts, well, it's about not to look like a complete fool. Hm, first fifth slot sounds logical. I go with that. Gareth is cool, but you won't be able to use it. It's gonna push you up so high that your other bots will be useless, so you end up shelving it. I think that's the consensus. Also, it only really becomes good at level 8-9 where it's speed it topped. I'm really having trouble fitting it into a hangar even at that. It's fun to play around with new bots though, so do what you have fun doing. I'd definitely save up for the 5th slot and keep ranking your guns, though. |

What med hardpoint weap are you using? I heard some people suggesting trident+tulums on boa, which i myself have not tried, but I am a bit biased and think boa shines most as a close combat guy (i.e. thunder combo). Makes the most use of boa's durability and agility. For tridents, think they are more effecting in groups (2 on carny, 3 on fury). Let us know how it goes. If it works for you maybe I'll also give it a go too! If not, you can always have it upgrading in the back and whip them out when you're able to stick them on bigger bots.

Boa is not suited for mid-range combat, lacking the firepower to make a difference.
They are built for close range combat, ie. Orkans/Thunder, Taran/Thunder.
If you're going mid-range, better to put the Tulu+Trident on Golem, which you can slap it with another CRV Pin to make a difference.

Ok. But since I got that Trident already, I will change the Golem. If you want to speed up your WSP production, you can invest 5g a day for extra WSP, it might seem a little, but it does help getting your weapons earlier when accumulated. |

Because they're probably wearing weak weapons. Remember that weapon level is also a thing, and many non-wiki players don't know how to balance their weapons. These bots will usually be easy kills, nothing to complain or worry about.

I'm not complaining. Just wondering. To kill a Boa, or a Griffin? Makes no difference to me.
Scrap metal is just that. But killing a heavy is more satisfying.

I like the Taran on Boa way better than the Orkan for some reason. Probably because plasma is really effective in lower tiers. I seldom need the ork's splash. |
