Ok, here where I'm at... I'm almost to 2500 gold and its burning a hole in my pocket. I've been saving for Galahad for a while. I already have my 5th slot and a pair of Orkans, so I feel justified in getting that bot. My hangar isnt great, but somehow I managed to just get outta Silver and into Gold level the other day. I could get the Galahad, but then its in the upgrade mix. Or do I push on through this spending urge, get the Ancilot? By the time I can get 6200 for the bot and shield, I'll have upgraded a lot in my hangar, and then I can move on to the upgrading my new purchases. With those of you that have both bots, is the Ancilot a better buy in the long run? Is there any time in which you removed your Galahad for any reason? I have a lot to upgrade and spending the gold and time on a bot that will get replaced isnt something I wanna do. If the Ancilot is the better long play, then so be it and I'll keep the hangar where its at and just upgrade and save gold.

You need 2 more Orkans, but I would say Galahad if you want to get it first.

Agreed... 2 more Orkans are a better investment in most cases, but a Gala is one of the mainstays of my hangar and more than likely one of the ones I will max. It comes out when I get bored... so not really applicable to your question of at what time and what the replacement would be for doing so. I do not always have a Lance in my hangar, but I almost always have a Galahad.
IMO, YMMV

Galahad is something that will take you into Diamond/Expert.
I had the same issue, my hanger was Carnage, 2xGriff, Leo, Rhino. Bought a Galahad to replace the Leo. Really looking forward to more speed on my team

To answer solely to your question: I don't have any clue. That really depends on your playstyle.

Well, I mean, with skills, anything can be good. I pushed into gold one with a four slot hangar of one rdb, one plasma death button, an molot griffin, and a thunder magnum Leo...

1) Wait for the event, you never know what u could get for free, be it a new Gold/wsp Bot, be it some spare weapons and u will need some gold to make a full usable set.
2) I'd Get a Galahad, i got one myself before getting orkans, and i'm fking loving it.
3) Lancelot and Galahad are two totally different styles. The Galahad is an extremely fast re-deployable weapon station, which will let you both get beacons and do tons of damage. Be sure of using terrain, the MAIN advantage of Galahad is not only the shield, but having ALL the weapons on one side, so you can shoot next to building and be unhittable.
4) Have always in mind that u need to farm lots of more gold, your main choice should be something that will earn you more gold toward that direction. Lancelot is too slow for capping, and you would need to switch to another bot if you ever need to cap something far.

I would also add that the Ancilot is not nearly as powerful as you might expect. They are super slow, the damage output is lower than all other close range setups, and the 5 second reload is an eternity when you are getting blasted straight to the face. The territory control and durability are undeniable but only if your team can complement your tankiness (not always guaranteed). The galahad, on the other hand, is a very solid bot in nearly all situations except mid-range splash.

Orkans first as they would provide an immediate return on investment as well as being usable on different bots.
That being said the Galahd and Ancilot depends on playstyle, league and skill
The Galahad is very versatile and should serve you well for a long time.
The Lance is not as powerful on lower league as you might think. This is because it requires teamwork for it to work. But with teamwork area control and defense is unparalleled. Ancilot rushes (2-3 Ancilots or 2 Ancilots and support)are very difficult to stop.

Ok, great info, thx guys. I already have 2 Orkans on my DB Griff, so after the event I'll buy that Galahad if I dont win it, which I prob wont, which is ok any way.

I have won a Gala, Gary, 2 Rogs, a Raijin, 2 Jesses, and tons of Ag bots, not to mention some good weapons, across all 3 events. Then again, some folks in my clan didn't win jack. Worth waiting and seeing!

You can keep using a Galahad all the way to 12/12. The big debate at that point seems to be whether you can justify a second Galahad that high. But one? You're set.
If you plan on continuing to high level play you will eventually want an Ancilot, but it's both much more expensive and more specialized. Definitely Galahad first.
