Hi all. I am not sure what role my rhino should play. What do you use yours for?

Hi all. I am not sure what role my rhino should play. What do you use yours for? Fantastic topic/question. Still trying to figure that one out myself as I wanted one for the longest time, and have enough to buy one right now, but arrived at the same problem. Mid range is covered by a dual zeus carnage and fun tulumbas punisher griffin. Knifers are a plasmahad, aphid taran griffin and bizarre leo build. I don't do long range anymore. I keep coming to the same conclusion, replace the leo with it as a knifer. Just need to decide on a knifer build for it that suits me. And somehow give up on my Leo, which gets beaten like a mule but always seems to keep killing bots no matter what.

I am playing mine as a hellfire - orkans + mags. Takes a lot of practice. I got one just to try something new and for the challenge.

Mines on mothballs and only comes out for heavy bot tasks, I run it as a RDB to keep away from as much splash as possible. Unless you didicate yourself to learning it, it is the hardest bot to maneuver

It's one of the hardest bots to learn. I use it occasionally when I want to switch things up. Mainly knife fighter.

The problem I find with close in fighting is it can't walk back or sideways at its strongest. The challenge of it is fun, though.

When you need to get all the way over *there*, get there with some HP left, and bring some serious firepower with you, then Rhino is the bot to use.
"There" can be a beacon (especially a guarded one) or the red spawn (especially when reds are beaten and the final spawn raid is in progress, and you want a piece of the action).
The shield gets destroyed very rarely (with my playstyle at least), so I treat it mostly as invulnerable.
I prefer Hellfire Rhino. One fun use is running into the Ancile bubble of Fujin or Ancilot (Carnages are usually too fast/smart to not fall for it) with shield up, then lowering the shield and letting loose with the Orkan. In general, when you're running to firing position, the difference between Orkan and Magnum ranges doesn't mean much, which makes this IMO the best and unique Rhino setup. And Punisher-Orkan probably works quite well too.
PDB Rhino is more of a flanker, I suppose, played very differently from the Hellfire version. Haven't played it much, I prefer PDB on a Griffin, YMMV.
Above two setups work. Then things that don't work (for me):
Tulumbas-Magnum version of Hellfire is ok for experimenting and learning, but it has too little firepower (both midrange and up close) to be actually a good setup.
RDB Rhino seems just inferior compared to RDB Griffin. The jump is just so important with the RDB, that Rhino's assault speed and shield do not make up for it. Enemy RDBs and Tridents are just so common, that shield is useless, so Rhino can't just sit there either tanking damage (this also makes Molot-Tulu a bad Rhino setup).
I haven't played with a DB Rhino, but I suspect it has a lot of the same problems as RDB setup: a Griffin can get out when weapons are depleted, a Rhino can just sit there, so it needs a high DPM weapon (Magnum or Punisher) for sustained fire, not Pinatas (or Aphids, which have further issue with Rhino light hardpoints being so low).

I've just purchased one and I am currently leveling it to be a hellfire version. I am going to use it as a heavy capper and flanker

One good location for Rhino seems to be under the center beacon of the Moon map. As long as you have other blues covering your back, and move sideways a bit to limit number of reds shooting at you simultaneously, nothing can shoot at you without getting its face full of Orkans or plasma. And if all reds die and you're still standing, there's a red beacon right in front of you, ripe for capture.
I kinda feel, this is what Rhino is all about. Face2face, taking the beating, tanking the damage, using the shield well (watch those Tarans, there's a 5 second window to dump the Orkans), holding the choke point, ready and able to move forward once all enemies lie smoldering on the ground.

On paper the rhino is good, but when playing with it, i get destroyed too easily. Maybe people like killing rhinos because the shield means that the enemy can score high points and the return fire is just 2 light weapons. it gets destroyed as soon as the shield goes down too.
Im not sure what to replace mine with, a Galahad, a Lancelot or an aphids Leo which i dont want since three leos in my setup will be boring.
Edit: I will replace mine with the rogatka i might win in the event. Capture 85 beacons in 2 weeks when the event starts.

Rhino is for front line taking fire holding beacons. But is weak against flank. so it's good to hold choke points where fires are all coming in one direction, such as the two beacons passage way in Power plant, centre beacon in Yamantau, Facing the enemy under the centre beacon in the moon map etc.

I uses my rhino to liberate becon and hold it as long as possible. I m using 2ork/2mag setup. It perform well against other rhino, shield bots and ancile
It's weak against db Griffin(with full charged weapon) and furry.if u ran into these u r dead for sure.
