I have been getting much closer league matching lately on iOS - anyone else experiencing this too?
For example, I (8/8 hanger) tried to push into Diamond 1 last week and my qualifying matches were all Expert 1-3 level players. I didn't make it, but this week I pushed D1 again and saw only Diamond players during the challenge. I made it into D1 and still am only seeing Diamond players - maybe an expert every 10 matches.
This is quite different than previous weeks when I would see Expert and up fairly often in D2 and even D3. Could be related to available players, times played or just a general league population thing. Curious to know if I'm the only lucky one seeing this.
EDIT: still seeing a range of 7-12 bot and weapon levels, just not hangers from other leagues.

I mostly see the same league if there are lots of folks playing... but if a solo match takes 20+ seconds to match, I see a wide range. (Android, btw)

Thanks - I've noticed a longer wait time recently. Made it to 30 seconds in at least 20%-30% of matches the last week, which was rare before. But still a very tight matching even after a long wait.

Based on my data and observations there may be some server side tweaking going on in terms of finding better matches. This will make the MM take longer to find suitable match candidates but those candidates may be better suited for the match player pool. WARNING: This is just my observations, I have not insider knowledge about "official" changes.

Either its been tweaked for tight matches, or there are considerably less players at any given moment. |

Yes, I've had great battles. Some of which came down to last 2 Mecha. I lucked out with Spirals and got 'em rounding a corner at Canyon - I had 785 armour left. A lot of similar Matches - both "Bars" almost gone.
MM is becoming intense, now .. love it.

Was literally thinking same thing. Taking longer to MM and matches are epically close and well fought. ZERO tankers lol

I've seen tighter, more white-knuckle matches as of late too. No real problem with leavers at this point, and the games often come down to which team has folks 'meching out" first. (I used to kind of turn up my nose at the idea of needing the 5th slot, but I will admit that as of late, it seems to increase your team's odds of winning pretty significantly.)

I also noticed ANOTHER issue - most of my chaps (iOS Diamond 2 and, sadly, more recent Diamond 3) are only 4 slots.
That is disappointing.

I've seen tighter, more white-knuckle matches as of late too. No real problem with leavers at this point, and the games often come down to which team has folks 'meching out" first. (I used to kind of turn up my nose at the idea of needing the 5th slot, but I will admit that as of late, it seems to increase your team's odds of winning pretty significantly.) 85% of the time.... |

Haven't seen any leavers on the scoreboard since emerging from Tanker Hell into Diamond II, but the top slot on both sides keeps coming up Expert or Master meaning that who ever has the higher player on their team wins, the other four players are just support or fodder. When we're all about the same level the matches are great but the seal club from a significantly higher player just filling an empty slot on a team makes for a feeble battle. You either stomp the opposition or more often than not, you are the one getting stomped as the two high levels duke it out.  |

Whenever I am in solo and the timer exceeds one minute starting a battle, I always know the MM is waiting for Iron Smiles to get their 6th squad member online so that the bum-bum-kicking of me and my silver teammates can be as complete as possible.
Joking aside, on Android, I am getting very difficult matchups the past 2-3 days. Lots of guys with double my league points wearing red. Sometimes we're the hammer, sometimes we're the nail.

I too keep seeing an empty spot in pretty much every game, though I believe many of the missing players are actually experiencing connection problems (as I've had teammates "tank" matches recently when that was in no way intended). There are some changes: games are slow to start and there are some very late arrivals being added in as well... teams that were down a player for the first few minutes are suddenly full. Overall, it does feel like there is something different going on under the hood. |

I'm on Android myself. Can't say that I've noticed a lot of what other folks are reporting in terms of leavers or bad matches, but I do find myself dropping late into the match a lot. I'm Silver I, if that makes any difference.

For me, I certainly think there is some ELO matchmaking being used and its been refined since then. I tend to hover around plus minus 50% win rates, though around 58% as of the time of this writing. It used to swing wildly between 60% plus then dropping to 40% less.

Handsome Jimmy likes this! Please tell me that is the name of one of your bots. Anything else would... be... disturbing... lol. On the MM subject, I find my matches are fairly good. Get the odd hammer passing through but it isn't that often. But anytime the counter takes a while to match up I get a little concerned about how many hammers will be in play and how many are dressed in blue. |

I just got out of a match with expert, master & champion..Im diamond 3..On android..so not really that fair id say..BUt hey we won & I didnt bot out or place lowest in damage & beacons haha
.... And again.. So that's twice now in the last hour....

No, I'm 8/9/9 on iOS e3, just today, I played with a team of champions against random reds who had a couple of champions. Most of my games were up against masters and higher experts. Played against a full squad of masters with a random team. My average game sees a champion, a couple of masters and experts. This means I'm usually the lowest denomination as e3. Even the diamonds I see are suppressing their hangars, it's a tell tale sign when a 10/10 hangar is in Diamond 2.
I'm already thinking to tank some losses by doing only damage no beacons so I drop into diamonds and won't have to deal with this messed up MM on average. Sure, plenty of overgrown hangars in diamonds too, but can't be as bad as playing masters and champions. I'm getting sick of the MM using me to pad the team for higher leagues.

I'm almost at a 10/10 hangar in diamomd..but I started with nothing & new to the game 2 months ago. So it's been countless hours playing this game every day & some $ spent for extra gold to speed upgrades....you could say I'm addicted..
