On occasion near the start of a match, I have trouble with my bots not wanting to walk. They will start then stop all the sudden, sometimes repeatedly. I have been shot to death over this too. But then on into the game they are fine with no issues. It seems to have gotten worse since the last update for me. So Im curious if anyone else is experiencing this?

Like it will walk a step the stop, step then stop. The joystick moves back to center also. I have no issues turning, just walking.

I thought that was my device or maybe my thumbprint was being seared off from how hot my screen was and it wasn't registering my touch anymore... now I see that it may be a bug/glitch. Hmmm... will watch this thread. Except it doesn't happen at the beginning for me.

Not the same as the OP, but I find that sometimes my 'controller' gets stuck strafing left. I assume it's my device (Samsung Galaxy S7 Active running Android 7) but do not know for sure.

Yes. Happen to me multiple times when moving backwards. The joystick will just jump back to neutral
Together with random tarrans that will make your bot stuck, sometimes I have very frustrating moments trying to move

And i thought was the only one having this problem. I returned a tablet, because i thought the screen was defective and was having ghost touch issues...Or developers fking with me..

Yes for me, and yes it has become worse since the recent update. Bots sliding more, freezing, getting stuck on terrain, etc.
Game seems to be more laggy as well - a LOT more freezing and drops. Still wondering if it's my internet connection, but I'm starting to think it isn't...

Only of those 「neat-o」 grates on PP. Is that on purpose Pix? To slow that spawn position down?

Only of those 「neat-o」 grates on PP. Is that on purpose Pix? To slow that spawn position down? I've had my feet snag on these too! I've also had the random "I won't walk right now" stutters-steps with my bot during fire-fights on other maps. I also learned the hard way that there is a little space on the center beacon on Yamantu between the platforms and the shield walls.

do you stop walking when you are being shot? ... that happens a lot to me Don't have the same problem as OP, but this happens to me all the time! Usually preceded by massive burst damage on my bot; thought it was my device, but now it might be the game itself. When it happens I've gotten into the habit of lifting my fingers off the screen for about 2 seconds - frustrating. Is it a glitch, or is it Pixonic's way to simulate pilot panic? If it's the latter, pretty crappy way to foist some superficial drama into gameplay. EDIT: Happens when turning or walking!

Once in a great while I get the stop from being shot. More often (about once or twice a day) I'll be just walking and it will stop and the "stick" goes back to center. It usually only happens when I've been playing for a while, my theory is that it's the screen heating up and getting less sensitive to my touch. When I flip my tablet and use the other side, it works just fine right away. I've also noticed that one side of my tablet is more sensitive to it than the other side. (Kind of an older tablet.)

My robots get stuck on the drain in Powerplant. That's about it.

My robots get stuck on the drain in Powerplant. That's about it. Can't stand that. Don't know how many times I've used my rush out of the spawn in a Carnage or Lance and gotten stuck on the grate and wasted the ability.

Once, I was in cover and took my hands off the screen so I won't accidentally touch it and move. Then all of a sudden, my bot moved to the right by itself out in the open, and I freaked out. I looked down, and had to move it back the other way. I blame it on the ghost in the machine.

Everytime. Gets me killed most of it. But I do also get to kill reds who were "stucked" before.

Yes, I hate those "SNAGS" -- the vents by the hills on the Power Plant!!!
There used to be a stack of objects (not sure if it's still there since the update) in Yamantau, where my bots would get snagged on the Beacon A side of the map when turning the corner from behind cover towards the collapsed bridge. I would routinely round the corner with sufficient distance between me and any objects only to be snagged in mid air.
Occasionally on Canyon and Springfield, usually at the beginning of the battle, as OP described, but often in the thick of battle, I will be snagged on thin air for no apparent reason. At times these appear to be due to game lag, as the joystick resets to the central position, despite my thumb having not moved, but other times my bot is still walking with the joystick in forward position, but it is being denied forward movement, as in the case with the Power Plant vents. I figured that these were either merely bugs in the game, or troll moves made by Pixonic to screw with us, or some combination of the two.
The best resolution that I've found is to simply turn in the left or right direction then turn back center forward, and that usually overcomes the "snag".
In addition, there are a host of small protrusions on every map, especially in Dead City and Springfield, where robots will get snagged on small objects and regions jutting from the walls that only serve to make the Art of War more challenging to the pilot.
There are two ways to look at the glass...half empty or half full. On the one hand, these snags can be mind-blowingly annoying and a true pain for any pilot, novice or expert. Or on the other hand one can look at them as micro-challenges that allow one to learn the maps, and to grow and excel as a pilot, once mastered. They provide a substantive but outwardly undetectable competitive advantage to the pilot that learns and overcomes said "snags". So they can be used to one's benefit if the enemy has surrendered to his frustration and determined to become annoyed by these aberrations.
It's worth noting that the glass half full perspective can be a beneficial worldview to maintain in life in general.
With that being said I f*#%ing hate those f*#%ing snags!!! But it is probably best if we learn to overcome them.

This is exactly what I do too,I'm right handed so my phone has its home button by my right hand side. But for some odd reason,I have much more joystick problems when my phone is at my right hand position. So from then on,I flip my phone whenever I play War Robots.I really hate it when I'm backpedaling/strafe then I suddenly stop and get blasted by a DB salvo. This helped me alot,so maybe you guys try it too.And remember, they are adding more content to the game nearly every update,I wouldn't be too surprised if lag/bugs intensifies bit by bit. BTW,does anyone have that sliding problem when your at the ramp in the moon map?

This has begun happening pretty often for me, post the latest update. I'll suddenly stop moving and have to lift my thumb then retouch the screen to start again. It sucks when I go to jump for cover and instead jump straight up :/

Had this happen multiple times today for the first time ever. Happened regardless of taking fire or not.
On the other hand, I haven't experienced my left 'controller' getting stuck strafing hard left since I posted last in this thread.

I have had this happen, before... and then again today.
Dry skin or dirty screen are the root causes in most cases.
Go find your wifes most expensive lotion (or your moms, or both) and use 1/2 the tiny jar on your hands.... not only will your gaming experience improve but after you used up all her expensive product she will leave you alone to play War Robots.
Im kidding about a portion of this... dirt or dry skin are a big part of the cause.

Ehh.. yeah, partly true, should also point out screen protectors as well i guess.
But no. Screen's clean and callus hasn't been a problem before.

happens to me a lot too. especially lately. bots don't walk at the start and at times during the battle they do not go forward even tho they are walking. and no they are not stuck.
also, my level 9 gareth cannot run faster than a gepard. gets left in the dust by a dashing carnage (by a lot). raced the gareth against the gepard with a clan mate and their speeds were identical on 3 differenrt maps(gareth should be 6kmph faster)
