 Hey fellow Walking War Robots's.I appreciate the responses from my first thread, how basically the devs. fked over anyone who had geps.. (thanks dev for making me waste 50+$) Anyway I really need some help.. I just started playing again, maybe 3 weeks ago(max). I am so lost.. I havent played in well over a year until recent. This new stupid league system.. its so dumb, it was a way for the devs to make 「dookie」 tons of money and borderline forces everyone to buy gold to compete.. Anyway. I am done ranting and I am really lost, I need help.. I was using just Geps and a cossack before, now I found out the geps are freaking useless.. so I replaced em with bots I was using before I got the geps. So all of these are kinda bad and have bad setups. I tried to setup what I had to the best of my ability.. I just bought a gareth and 5th slot last week, and i love it. I was recommended by someone to get the Gareth if I enjoyed Geps... He was damn right, Gareth is seriously my favorite bot. anyway. I need a... goal guide/waypoint guide if you know what I mean.. I need help decideding what bots to replace all but the gareth with. I need help with setups.. I just dont know what to do, I am so lost and debate quitting often.. Cany yall please help me? I need help with bot setups/what to get.. I have 35m silver 2,200gold almost and im going to put 30more$ in so I can buy 50$ gold pack. I need a longrange bot and a good med range.. My golem is only one even remotely close, and its bad.. Anyway besides whats in the pic off the top of my head, this is what I have other than whats equipped: lvl9 kang/3+ lvl8mags/2 lvl9 molot/2+lvl9 spirals/lvl6 taran/lvl7-9 Pinatas(3-4+ I believe) forgot the rest.. but these are the only ones above stock level or atleast useful. Also the only bot above stock is a patton (lvl2-3?) and a lvl5 vitz TL;DR: I neex bot setup help. i need a guideline. I need to know what to aim for. What bots to replace all but Gareth with? What weapons should I be upgrading/replacing with? Whats a good longrange bot& setup? Whats a good med range bot & setup? What should i spend gold on?(2.2k + Im buying atleast one50$ pack this week) Anyway thanks I appreciate all help! |

Mid range options that I use the most to replace Golum: RDB (Pins and Tulumbus) Griff and Zeus Carny. One is all Ag and one is Au and WSP.
The Griff with Plasma is a fine build, but the new game is more geared towards having your bots leveled up to your weapons instead of the way it used to be done.... so get him to 8 or 9, asap. You can take those weapons off and make it an RDB and put those weapons on something else, (Galahad, Lance, etc) but you WILL need at least one good Plasma bot... if not 2.
I'll let others continue from here as I need to go right now.

The gep era is definitely over. Heavies and Damage are king. Like tricky said RDB for mid range is a good option. A DB is still viable as it was before. If you have any AU left try for a Galahad. If you have WSP a Carnage and tridents are a good option.

Top tier set-up includes only one medium to long range setup... so I will help you work towards that.
Current meta is:
1 Ancilot (Lancelot, Tarans, Ancile)
1 DB Griffin (Orkans, Pinatas)
1 Plasmahad (Taran and Magnums) OR Plasma Gareth
1 Stuka Griffin (Aphids and Orkans)
and either 1 TT Fury or Zeus Carnage.
You currently have 1 Orkan and 2 Aphids. You also have 1 premium bot (Gareth).
You're about 11k Au from where you want to be.
I think a good transitional hangar would be:
1 Stuka Griffin (Aphids, Orkans)
1 Plasma Griffin
1 Plasma Gareth
1 Thunder Carnage OR Triple Taran Fujin
1 Trident/Zeus Carnage OR 1 RDB Griffin (Pins and Tulumbas)
Total expenditure would be 1 Orkan and 1 Zeus (3,700 Au). I would try a two Trident Carnage first and see if you're going to be happy with this gameplay. The other option is an RDB (Pins and Tulumbas Griffin) for med range splash.
I think, at the very least, you need to buy that second Orkan and run either a Stuka or a DB Griff in your line-up. Then think of the other options depending on how much gold you want to spend. At this current point medium weapons are the most flexible in the meta so you want to stack up Tarans and Orkans.

You can aim for different things:
- Going up in leagues. This means combination of high damage (equals more league points gained on wins, less lost on losses) and win% (you gain points on wins, lose then on losses). This is fun as long as you go up, but once you hit the ceiling for your bot and weapon levels, it gets old fast, same problem as with going for damage gold below.
- Getting gold for high damage. This is tough without morally dubious tanking periods, because high damage (required for getting those damage medals, duh) means you go up in leagues, which means tougher other players, until you no longer get much gold, because other blues are just higher level and you can't really compete with them in damage. This conflict remains until you get full 12/12 hangar, after that's it is only your skill which matters.
- Getting gold for beacons. This means you want fast bots, so you want them to L9 as a high priority. 2-3 best lights (Gareth, Stalker and Cossack are best, Gep is ok and has max speed from the start), 1-2 fastest mediums (Carny, Gala, Rog are best), 1-2 assault heavies (Rhino, Lancelot, Leo) for getting center beacons.
- Just fooling around. For this you might want to get into the Leavers Queue for some wild matches. Just beware, some people here have apparently had some trouble getting out of there.
One thing to note is, there's no need for "balanced" hangar any more. So while you figure this out, upgrade your Gary to 9/12. Another safe bot to upgrade is the Griffin. Others you have currently... I wouldn't spend time upgrading them above that level 6.
Another thing to note is, the Anniversary Event is coming. Don't invest Au on anything until after it, you never know what you'll win then. If you want to spend real money now, consider premium, or consider using it on the "event currency".

I dunno, I do alright with my midrange Gep. I've been playing for about 6 months, have about a 6/6 hangar with 4 bots, 50% win rate and a 2.1 kill average. I spent a total of $10. I think this is the least money grubbing FPS-MMORPG I've plaved in a while. Want to see a money grubber dev? Install Galaxy on Fire 3...5h!7...

just my preference
1. Replace the Patton with Griffin, Orkan/Aphid Griffin. (Griffin has more hp, with jump, Orkan > Piñata)
2. PDB Griffin is good
3. Taran/Magnum Gareth (Orkan/Magnum is fine, but you can give your Orkan to Griffin)
4. Thunder/Magnum Leo is fine.
5. A mid range is handy in some maps, RBD Griffin is the easiest to obtain, Tridents Naty, Tridents Carnage, Zeus Carnage or even Fury are pretty good for mid range.
