Hi guys, I was just playing 5 matches- in all of them my team lost! In all of them I ranked as top player except in one match where I was 2nd place. How is it possible?? It is a little against the statistics, isn't it? (I'm in silver league btw)

What is your win % ... maybe matchmaking is giving you a smackdown for being too successful

As for you being #1 or 2, that just means you did the most damage. You could do a million points as a sniper each and still lose easily. This is why people get frustrated by snipers who sit back and just cause damage. Yes it may help but without beacons all the damage in the world won't matter. So ranking only reflects damage not actual contribution to victory.

Most of the time when I'm top damage it's because my team lost badly and I'm forced to fight just to get out of the home. The trick is to find a balance and to play to win not for damage or beacons specifically.
My typical match I'm in the middle somewhere on damage and top 2 on beacons. Though I have games where in near the top on damage with maybe one beacon or games where I'm bottom damage with 6 beacons (really great considering how heavy my hanger is). The point is sometimes you need to cap beacons, sometimes you need to press forward and attack, and sometimes you need to defend. Most games you need to do all of these at different points during the match but sometimes you get stuck doing one the whole match. Look for what your team needs for the next 30-60 seconds and do that every 30 seconds or so look for what they need again. Just don't fall for the trap where you and 3 team mates ALL go after one guy who snuck around and capped your side beacon. If you see 2-3 team mates headed that way look and see what other beacon needs you to defend it

It is a little against the statistics, isn't it? (I'm in silver league btw) Were there 6 players on Blue? How many total bots were on Blue from all contributing players? If Blue teammates aren't in it to win it then you are gonna have to carry the water up a pretty steep hill.

thanks guys for sharing your opinions and thoughts. I do understand that beign ranked at top just means I did most damage, but in most of the games I play for beacons and don't put damage as top priority, I just end up with good damage because I suceeded to defend my beacons. However, other team mates loose the beacons and that is why I was frustrated how could I be matched randomly 5 times in a row with weak mates. But what the hack, I may be just having a bad day

Doing damage does not equal winning. Getting and keeping beacons wins. Period. That's it.
If you didn't help get beacons, you didn't help to win. You just did damage.
Dejnov.
P.S. This comes from a Diamond I player who can oscillate between 250k to 750k in damage... which doesn't matter as I play to win. And that's what my hangar does or tries to every time on the field of battle.

I think I wasn't clear enough about what I meant that I ranked as top player, I didn't mean that all I did is maximum damage. My final stats were something like this: imgur.com/QW5S1yCthis is why I was surprised that I had 5 matches like this in a row.

It happens.
Just this last Sunday night, everyone went to bed early, I stayed up and decided to play for awhile. I played for about 2 hours straight. Why? Because I got my arse HANDED to me. I only got one or two wins, couldn't even complete the three daily silver bonus wins. I dropped over a hundred league points and went from a 66% win rats to a flat 50%. I was miserable, absolutely miserable about it.
Since then I have fought on, changed one of my bots for a fun experiment (Punisher/Tulumbas Griffin) and played on as I always have, just going for the win.
I have now fought my way out of the slump, get great balanced hard fought matches and am on my way back up.
Chalk it up to just paying your dues, and sometimes they all collect at once. /shrug
