I would have thought that leagues were used for matchmaking purposes. It would make sense that a Recruit level player would be up against low level players and the top leagues would be matched with and against higher league players.
So why is that not the case?

it might just be the update happening. platform split. but yes, matchmaking will normally try to match you against similar leagues, with no consideration of your hangar setup

I understand this is not a major gaming company but it is still disappointing that something as important as this is allowed to break even for a few days. I am used to playing games made by some of the top gaming developers so I suppose my standards are to high.

I would have thought that leagues were used for matchmaking purposes. It would make sense that a Recruit level player would be up against low level players and the top leagues would be matched with and against higher league players. So why is that not the case? While you may have noticed some unusual anomalies, matchmaking deliberately mixes players from different leagues. Say you are in low Masters, one match you will get masters and experts and in the next match you will get champs and masters. Same distribution applies to all leagues. From a monetisation perspective, mixing leagues and creating unfair competition is a good thing. What incentive would you have to purchase new OP gear if you are in a league without such items. Also, a large percentage of the paying customers in this game want to get their moneys worth and seal club lesser opponents. They even buy 5 condors and a mauler to make sure they can beat a guy with 2 condors and a lucha and that they have a decent chance against someone with a fully maxed hanger. The unfortunate situation, judging by Pixonic's intent to bring in the modules rework, it seems like these customers are willing to pay even more.
