I watched 30 seconds of the new video where some girl with a Russian accent tried to tell me that specializations would make things easier.
I must confess I don't know how replacing something simple (modules) with something complex (specializations) makes anything easier. Either in terms of the UI or the backend. What I can say is that anyone who thinks these specializations makes the game easier doesn't actually play it. Forcing armor upgrades? 「whiskey tango foxtrot」 are they a specialization when it is forced as part of the "basic" set? Do the designers at Putonic think we've all had a lobotomy or similar and will blindly accept this decision making? Maybe they're all good little smurfs in the Putin Empire and can't understand the way people think when their mind isn't controlled by the government.
Look at the starbase - if the recent trend is anything to go by, a very very very small minority of people are using them and/or care about them. They're a complex mechanism that needs constant TLC. Did you earn some thorium today? Well it is useless unless you go and donate it to your clan and even then it does nothing unless the senior clan people wish it so. Oh, they're on vacation for 3 weeks? Too bad.
Modules work. As they are, they're simple and player friendly.
What modules don't do is provide a constant income stream to the game owners/manufacturers. Specializations will fix that income earning bug.
And just in case you were enjoying playing some of the older robots/titans with modules that make them actually competant when well played, those old toys you like playing with are getting nerf'd too (less specializations) so that you are forced to spend on new toys to get back the capability you currently have with modules. No more Schutz
Drones got reworked, what was it, twice?
Wake me when modules have been reworked again to undo the 「fluffernutter」ery that this "update" is doing.

Haven't played in weeks, but still log in and collect free stuff, or just fart around in my garages from time to time. Don't really have the itch to play anymore right now. But I did see on the reddit about the 10.5 update and the shenanigans coming up. I guess it's time to face the fire and see if this update is really going to upset as many people as it seems. I watched a little of the video about the update. Made my head hurt so I turned it off. $$$ makes px happy so they will continue to go for it anyways they can. best of luck to all you still grinding. |

Pigsonic is entirely about monetization, nothing else matters. The only thing they need to worry about is how to keep fooling and screwing the player base to keep them spending.
Its much like dumping money into a gas station slot-machine just outside of Las Vegas.

For all the reasons stated for the drone rework, they added those features back on new drones... Also, the "compensation" for the old drones was not even enough to max back out to full functionality the old drones they "reworked" (nerfed/changed)*. In conclusion, there is money for PigSonic in there somewhere or else they would leave it alone. It has nothing to do with "game balance" or "community request" period! |

Thats pretty bad, definitely outright theft by Pigsonic. I honestly dont understand how people keep playing this god-awful game. This really sticks it to F2P/grinders in a big way, all that effort vaporized in an instant.

The Jump version of Active Modules has been discontinued and is no longer going to be available. That is a big hit to my play style -- i had that selected on 90% of the robots i field. That is probably the tippy-top screw job I've gotten from Pigsonic over the years and that's just super. To top it off, i just purchased a bunch of green crack I'll probably not use so much anymore.

While a minority opinion, I didn’t care about modules to begin with. Never leveled a single one. Got 6500mods and 6 Doritos. That let me finish this project!  So far only one assist but the goal is titan kills. |

Now that everyone has the mod rework update, the platforms are together again and guess what? Tons of people STILL don't understand Pixonics "simplified" version of mods and how it effects their bots. I look at the Loki progression for modules and I don't understand what Pixonic are/were thinking. I used to team up "anticontrol" with "nitro" (if you know, you know) but now if I choose sabeteur to get "nitro" I can't get "anticontrol" and if I choose defence to get "anticontrol" then I can't get "nitro".
What Pixonic are forcing people to do is to waste 1 passive module slot on their "armor" or "nuclear" option. If I had my druthers, I wouldn't even upgrade "armor" because it is not a worthwhile upgrade.
And what's the point of the "unlock + unlock + unlock"? Did they need some way to fill up the screen to fake some sort of "reveal" or "progression" in return for nothing?
Not only have Pixonic 「fluffernutter」ed us over in conversion, they've actually made modules less desirable to max out.

A simpler solution is what many games do & Pixonic already does but that would be too much like right! Simply block certain bots from using certain mods like they block bots from using Anciles... Ye, just checked my KID titan to see what specializations did to it...It is dead with only the basic tree. Junkmale has been testing to see how things have changed and our beloved Lancelot is finally being put to rest as well now sadly.
EDIT: You can now add AoMing and Authur to that list... At this rate you will be adding more bots and titans to that list as well. If you recall all bots & titans start at tier4, as new content come into the game the older gear gets a drop in tier. With that and the new specialization removing functionality from bots/titans, it's a forced nerf into oblivion and no we don't want you to have what you paid / grinded for, you WILL buy our new crapola & we WILL remove functionality from what you already have...

With everything so OP and tier 4, as well as the new rework of mods ensuring the slow death of older gear, one has to think is this a sort of forced growing pains? It feels like they are really gearing up to take this game in a new direction in the next few yrs. By that I mean Pix making a possibly new tier system or adding the next level 5 tier, and possibly new leagues. ALLL THE WHILE, it will be introduced under the guise of WE HEARD YOU AFTER ALL THESE YRS, we will add new tiers and new leagues to separate the whales, which they won't call them by, and the f2p grinders, what I am sure they refer to as the cheapskates. MM still will be offed up, but at least there will be a little more of a divide. still so sad how this amazing game has really gone to 「dookie」. I read it hear, and since this place is not as active as it used to be I been trolling the reddit as well. EVEN THERE its all loans and groans. |

Just stop playing or do as Manni says, and just play on the test server. Don't spend money on game things, don't watch ads.
This re-work is beyond ridiculous. In some ways it is petty, in others greedy, but most definitely authoritarian. But that's the Russian culture - where the people that think they're at the top run everything and make decisions for you because they know what's best.
For me this rework by Pixonic is about as smart as the Chernobyl test in 1986 that led to disaster.
