As a hint to map skippers, who want to avoid the LQ: learn to like all the maps. Some maps have only a few sensible things you can do. Find and do them. They'll never be as fun as the better maps, but they can still be quite ok. And when you get the same map many times in a row, think what you did wrong last time, and try to consciously improve. That makes the repetition a bit more bearable. Also, consider adjusting your hangar to have more mid rangers or fast cappers. The game isn't "pick any hangar you want, game has to adapt", no. It's "game is what it is, build your hangar accordingly". I don't think people can learn to like something they hate. This is a recreational activity not a job. If Pix cannot detect a single map someone clearly hates then they need to reevaluate what data they are collecting on people. Some people seem to be excelling in the Leavers Que. If the original poster is there he may well want to consider seeing if he can win the meta game. Yeah, same map many times in a row sucks, no argument there. Also Pix should work pn improving the worse maps more than they did. That being said, people don't hate the maps, they hate their gaming experience on those maps. That experience can change by learning to play the maps better, learning neat tricks, which can be pulled off in those maps, and trying to enjoy them instead of trying to hate them. These are things which are 100% under player control. I just had a lovely game on Springfield. It was lovely, because even though at 4 mins it looked gloomy with 1-4 beacon disadvantage, we won it, thanks to me owning the farm side beacons on my Cossack and Stalker (with some critical help in disposing 2 Gareths and one Golem, full credit to those midrangers across the riverbed, and of course rest of the blues did their job on the factory side to keep me safe). Least damage but still quite a bit, so Ag reward was ok, and Medal of Capture of course, just the way I like it (note, I don't try to get least damage, I just usually get it because of all the lights I field). Also, I need to learn so much more about Stalker piloting and Cossack tactics, but what I did was enough. This is just an example of adapting my play to enjoy the map I ha...ike only a little

You can no longer skip maps more than occasionally unless you're OK with being in the leaver's queue. There are many posts on this forum from people who are in the leaver's queue whose only admitted sin is map skipping. But there are also players who skip maps and are not in the leaver queue. I always skipped Canyon until a few days ago, and sometimes other maps when running changeup hangars, and I'm not in the LQ. (I admit that the discussions here have convinced me not to skip maps anymore, unless I have a very specific task like "liberate 3 hostile beacons with a light robot in 1 battle", where I'll go all-light and skip unsuitable maps.)

Same question, different scenario. I had 00:00 on the clock for way over a minute (2 minutes by screenshot times) and I'm not even sure what triggered the win because it certainly wasn't my Trident/Pin Leo going for center beacon. Also I feel there have been a couple of games that ended early, as in I know exactly everything about the beacon bar and timer at all times and suddenly the game was over way too soon... not remembering if I should have won or lost and whether I did or not but no doubt sometimes strangeness occurs.

It may be, but so does leaving matches which aren't preferable to you. So I will not apologize if I come off as rude I will say that it would be amazing to choose the map, but it just isn't that plausible in such a game. They could, however, possibly implement a sort of voting system before the match starts so that the players would vote between two choices maybe? You've got to tough it out in the maps you don't like so that the ones who do like them are able to enjoy them. Challenge yourself to find new techniques for each map in order to find your way to victory. (I've also gotten pissed off dropping into the same map over and over and maps that often aren't enjoyable due to what often fills the match. I know the pain but also have amazing matches in all maps too.) I was under the impression, particularly after pix released the 'you're ok to skip maps you don't like' statement, that so long as you bailed instantly and gave the gap chance to be filled by someone who does like to be there, that it was ok and no one gets stiffed. As I said previously, I've played this a good while and like to think I'm a fair and supportive player. I've dutifully played all the maps and unwillingly been the 'light brigade'. Your comment was, imho, unnecessarily rude. You could have easily conveyed your meaning and opinion without resorting to that. I do however share your hopes of choice in the future. Pixonic made a point of stating that map skippers would not be penalized if they did so before the countdown finished. They also stated that the matches wouldn't be shorted because we do so either but I'm not too sure about that. Been experiencing quite a few matches where the numbers are awfully lopsided. But if that is occurring that's entirely on Pixonic. I skip the new moon map with one of my profiles consistently. I carry only the bots in my slots and all are lights and 1 medium with no jump ability. You need medium or heavy preferably jump capable bots on the moon map unless you want to spend all your time near your own spawn so you have room to maneuver. You're just a target once you get into the canyons and get caught by a jumper. I usually skip Shenzhen too with all my profiles because too many times I get shunted in in direct line of sight of the enemy and get blasted immediately with no way to respond(shorter ranged weaponry). Not fun if I drop in with a light bot and someone hits me with Tridents or Trebs right away. One second you're there, the next you're not. That recent map change was not a welcome one for me. But that being said I've not experienced any changes in my gameplay or opponents that I've noticed. I do take about 25-30 seconds before trying to drop into another battle though. I've noticed a tendency for the game to try and push the same map onto me if I immediately try to start another battle after skipping. That might create a "too many times" effect. By taking a bit longer to start another battle I might be allowing that map to fill its quota without me, not sure though. I just know it works pretty well for me. Try allowing a bit more time between skipping and starting another match and see how that works for you. I make no guarantees though, I didn't program the game.
