I was trying to explain my min/max metagaming strategy to my tournament team on the 6pack Discord server, and thought others on the Walking War Robots Forum could possibly benefit as well…FYI: “min/max” means minimum effort or expenditure for maximum results or returns and “metagaming” means pre-gaming the game before actually playing the game.
Here is an example.
- there is a website that gives out 100 free Thorium / day… they also have a special offer of 500 Dgems + 500 more free for $5.00 (1 Dgem is basically = $1) so that’s .50¢ on the dollar off
- I can see is a special “shopping cart” offer of 250 Microchips for only 199 Dgems (this is basically 60-70% off their normal rate)
- finally, there is a global LEADERBOARD in-progress that rewards upgrading Drones (uses Microchips) that coincides with my individual -25% off Drone upgrades (the best discount I’ve ever seen on Drones)
All said and done, I figured I min/max the entire process for only five-bucks… I get some more powerful Drones, two+ free LEADERBOARD benchmark rewards (1000 power cells + 15 Defense Boosters), all at less than 1/4 the actual charge on my credit card. And I still have over 800 Dgems when the next min/max cycle comes around.
PS. I spent ZERO dollars in July on this game (multiple hours of play time), but did take the family to see a single 2hr. movie in the theater for +/- $50. __A Quiet Place, Day One__
