I currently have a maxed Glider as my only Gold Tier drone, which rides along with my Hover.
Besides that, I have:
Wasp (Level 4)
Nebula (Level 5)
Nebula (Level 5)
The Eye (Level 4)
Are these worth upgrading, or am I better off holding out until I score more Gold Tier drones? I have very limited Microchip earnings, currently have 300 in stock.
Master I, just challenging for Champs again. I expect to be rocking back and forth on that threshold for a while.
Thoughts?

Watch the ad’s for 300+50 keys everyday for Golden chests and get good f2p drones.

I'm afraid I don't know all the drones very well. I mainly use Beak (for stealth) and Kestrel (for deathmark), but just because those are the best I have. I also have a Glider, but it's only good with phase shift. I run it on a Phantom because it's levelled.

Good on you for saving up so many Microchips… I NEVER spend mine until the -25% discount is offered (better yet when -25% coincides with a LEADERBOARD event).
That being said, I run both a lvl. 9 Wasp and a lvl. 9 Whiteout (eye) in low Champs and play DOM and BR. The eye Whiteout is better! It’s on my Skyros (EMP then unfold and attack + speed and repair). I run the Wasp on my outdated Orochi, but it really shines in PVE on my Seraph with Sumatas (Stage 1 & 2 purple with one bot every time).
edit 1 / PS. Try the Glider on an Angler bot for 2x healing and even more speed.
edit 2 / D'oh … Whiteout is not the Eye, but is has one… my bad.

Do Purple Drones require Upgrade Tokens to hit max level? If so, I definitely think waiting for Gold Drones is probably worth it for me. |

Oh right, my bad, sry. about that… they are both sub-par (but do shoot independent of the robot = fun, but not that much damage) in comparison to gold drones. I run a lvl. 9 Eye on my Loki, so there’s that. No, only Gold drones require the dorito for max level. -I’ll shut up now, and go sit in the corner… alone.-

No, only Gold drones require the dorito for max level. That's good to bear at least. I have an old Blue-Tier Bot in my hangar at 2.12. When I checked, it wants 3 Tokens to upgrade to Mk3, I was worried Drones would be the same. The Eye might actually be worth upgrading then, that Death Mark is a nice boost, particularly for my Strider build, and even more so if I can get enough Memorium to level up the proper Pilot. Nebula and Wasp I'll definitely be replacing rather than upgrading. |

I would consider upgrading the ones you have, Pixonic made age old tier 4 drones like Glider and Beak marked as “exclusive content” when the bug rebalance hit, and in over a year has not made they buyable with gold. Even if you have money I am not entirely sure how you get them after their initial release. Unless you want to keep spinning chests, I would just take what you have rather than wait in vain.
