After seeing the new map on a few videos I got to play it today in the PvE thing. What do I think of it? The only way I knew where to shoot the spiders was because of the orange circles. I couldn't see them. Maybe it's just me, maybe it is because I use a mobile device and don't have the brightness turned up to 11 (battery life) ... who knows. For me it is the worst map since Shenzen Night (when I also couldn't see the red's robots.)

Personally, I don't really like it. For me the spiders just kept running into the walls and getting stuck. The colour theme is just weird - and yeah it's too dark

Too early to say how it's going to play, but yeah, it's very dark, and convoluted. interesting defensive trenches at the back though. could be a fun setting?

It is hard to make out where the enemy is. Other than that, looks cool. Lots of cover. Elevation changes. Change up the colors and it will be good.

It's made PVE such a chore with all the randomly placed blocks everywhere which I think will affect normal play as well.
Fast bots like the Curie and dagon will probably excel on this map.
Much harder to get to the Zenit chucking bots around the perimeter and good luck chasing down the plasma raykers bots that retreat if you advance towards them.

I have since amended my stance. It seems pretty cool. After I played the first round of extermination many times, I now get the hang of it. Gonna be fun for sabotage type robots for sure.
Ps. For all you FTP peeps. Play the first round a bunch and get that golden dorito! 14,000 points does the trick. Yes, a bit of a grind, but not too bad.

You can AFK the first couple rounds by using a whiteout drone if you have one. Just stand in the middle of the map and the AOE explosion from the drone kills all spiders in the blast radius every few seconds. Easy way to get the free Dorito on the leaderboard task and possibly even win the lot if you have the patience.

I wonder how Loki would do. When a robot is in stealth, the spiders won't shoot at it but they will move towards it still. Loki+Needle seems to work ok. Need to move around a bit. The spiders still fire (hence Needle) but with minimal effort, I got platinum result for lvl 1 in 2 minutes with lvl 1 whiteout. Need higher level whiteout to get gold/platinum for lvl 2.

I think a bot with high health or high resistance will do, Fenrir, Falcon, even a Khepri will easily survive as the spiders at those early levels don't do much damage as it is. Maybe add a repair amp if you have one. I used a 2.10 Shell and just park it up near that centre beacon light and watch TV whilst it does its thing.

The layout could be OK. Will need to wait an see in proper games. Its a good map for a Loki.
However, way too dark and hence a big fail. Pix needs to turn the lights on or schedule combat when the sun is high.

Why are some of the rocks so wet and the map colors budget crayon shades?
I feel like it’s a colonoscopy…

I'm still trying to make up my mind about it. In extermination it was a bit of an issue because different elevations added problems of hits not registering for some weapons.
Only had that map once in beacon rush and it was just one big pileup at one of the beacons for entire, short lasting game. The problem might be that since map is so small everybody will join the main fight and it will be the same experience every single game. But we'll see.
Other than that I also think it's too dark and too futuristic and abstract for me. But you get used to all that, after all you are not there to admire the scenery.

In PVE it is very annoying. I think it is made for that new teleporting robot. In domination, Loki can do well because there aren't a lot of line of site paths for people to notice it is Loki in stealth. The colors for the map are terrible.

It's weird in BR games. There are 3 centre beacons 「whiskey tango foxtrot」...

I don't know why they insist on having those small elevation changes everywhere, just causes aggravation when bots like Fenrir still skip over obstacles as small as a grain of sand or fast bots launch all over the place.

It's weird in BR games. There are 3 centre beacons 「whiskey tango foxtrot」... It is trying to promote more close range fighitng?
It is also tactically interesting because I've seen players forget about the outer beacon(s) and focus on the inner ones. The opposite to something like Springfield where a BR match makes many of the closer range weapons not the best choice.

It's definitely a brawler map. No way you're able to snipe there. At least on smaller maps like Rome or Valley you can still run snipers. Thanks to the really unnecessary hilly terrain it's pretty much impossible on the new map.

Map seemed bigger in extermination? I run a ghost typhon as a beacon/ surprise mother humper bot but when i played a dom match i capped 14 bacon and thought this map may be better than moon for beacons.

finally got a taste of the new map, not too bad, brawler paradise for sure. Is a bit dark and gloomy, funny how they took forever redesigning Yam and then this thing creeps out. Could use a little better rendering and color palette design wise, but it has a lot of potential.

I reminds me of one of their awful old arena maps. It’s just not good. Too dark, doesn’t reward good tactical play, I quit out as soon as I drop on it. I recommend everyone else does the same.

I love it, especially since it doesn't seem like anyone's gotten a handle on the best way to play it yet. It's made for sneaking around and ambushing, and it's total mayhem.
If you're quitting every time you drop on it, you just suck and don't deserve to play with the big boys.

I've noticed people ditching instantly on it, same as Yamantau. Guess it's just not popular.

I've noticed people ditching instantly on it, same as Yamantau. Guess it's just not popular. the thing that also annoys me too is the fact they say it's a brawler map with lots of hidey holes ......in essence it supports tons of teleporting bots with lots of places for them to hide and as we all know by now the new one is annoying as hell

The new Yamantau sucks balls... the old Yamantau was much better, much more interesting tactically.
