There are numerous youtube videos about "oh wow, look at how good my max'd out legacy thing is with OP pilot skills and OP drone." Which is just a sales pitch for non-weapon/robot OP goodies.
What's got me curious is what non-OP builds (excluding Loki - he gets enough attention already!) are worth toying with? i noticed recently that I never built more than 1 Glory, so I'm building another one of those (or two or three?) but what to put them on? Does the Ares-Corona build still pack a punch when it immobilizes teleporters/okiedokie? Can competitive builds with spiders compete well without OPness attached? What do ppl recommend?
I suppose the War Robots classic mode got me interested because when all of those fancy things don't work, what have you got left to work with?

blights, hazards, and decays are deadly at 1.8(at least for me)...i can only imagine how much more dangerous it will be at mk2. you should try them if you haven't already. you can even built them in the workshop

Mender. It's been in my main line up for years now and still cuts it in Champions League with the Chocolate Leclair pilot.
2 x immune amps, 1 x repair amp makes it a tough little nut to crack if you can survive the first onslaught of Ochos/Curies/Dagons. Very minimal chance that it will get a nerf anytime soon, unlike the others I mentioned. Just about any weapons will work on it.
The Ravana is also a staple in my number 1 hangar. Sonics and whiteout drone have caught out many an overconfident Curie and Ocho pilot when they can't use their magic tricks to overpower everything.
I've been having some decent fun in an Orochi with kestrel drone recently, squishy but fun none the less and Redeemers still pack a punch against current offerings, still charge up the mothership/titan bar better than most weapons, even after they reckon they "balanced all weapons" in regards to mothership charge.
I'd say the Typhon too but it's a bit squishy in the current meta.

Ghost typhon with blast shotguns is doing well in champs.
Lynx with deemers is good too. But you better be on your game skill wise.
Ghost prismabus and SB is great on long range maps. Takes out ophions with ease.

Ravana, definitely. I'd also recommend the Demeter if you haven't tried it yet.

Ghost is a pilot skills. You sacrifice the ability for a lot of extra speed. As for builds to test, I had a lot of fun with the hazard typhon. I also ran the Erebus a bit as well with decays.

It is a pilot skill. It will disable the robot’s special ability for a ton of extra speed. I use that skill on three robots currently. Rog, typhon, and Erebus. Speed is more useful than any of their abilities in my opinion.

I forgot to mention that with the blast shotguns, you need to use Eddie Knoll to get the faster firing speed. I have two typhons. One with Eddie and one without. The one without is kinda meh. The other one shreds it is my favorite bot. The one without sits in the unused hangars.

Loki naturally. Any weapon on him is OP.

Prismas made my Ao Jun and Fenrir (with pulsars atm) relevant again. As I have suspected for some time the right weapon is more important than the bot.

Blast shotguns and the incinerator, scorcher, and scald weapons are weapons that tend to do will even without high upgrading as far as I've played in the game. I also sometimes run 3 dread scalds on my loki. Another few weapons you can use are the sonic guns (devastator, Havoc ,scatter). The sonic weapons especially do well because tank (health regen) opponents will struggle to regenerate thanks to sonic grey damage.

I noticed no one has mentioned Crisis yet. It has been in blue data pad section on a number past events & therefore you probably have one. And possibly the Taylor Swift pilot too.
You don’t have to mk2 the bot itself but it does help. 4 heavy slots gives it plenty of options. Try 4 decays that are lvl 8 or 9.
On a map like Shenzen with the built in shield breaker ability, you can pretty much start shooting straight away at anyone on the red team home beacon.

I find Demeter to be very useful in certain scenarios... I've just it to get both beacons in castle (get B/D first then teleport to A/E)... and you can teleport in to save someone and teleport out if you survive and it gets hectic! But i haven't worked out what weapon combo - might have to try sonics.

Sonics would be a strong option if you're porting into heavy battle, but the range limitation might hamper you a bit in general play. I run Maces on mine and they bring the party up close, with a bit of range for the downtime. I also run Jerry, so I'm boosting my target blues damage 20% on port. All damage and durability skills. Honestly, it's a wrecking ball. To hell with grey damage. We all gotta go sometime.
