So, my son built a new gaming PC and gave me his 5 year old PC to me. I had to put in a new SSD and a WiFi adapter but over all spending $200 on this isn't that bad. I'd always wanted a decent platform to run Linux on and I finally have one. Before this, I'd only played briefly with various distros on old laptops that don't really give me the full experience. So, for this PC, I went with Pop! OS because of all the reviews that say this is one of the best distros for gaming and because it can install nVidia drivers by default.
So far, I've only installed Steam but have not installed any games. I'm tempted to install Blue Stacks and then Mech Arena to see if I can teach myself to become a keyboard and mouse player like some of the human players I see in game. I can always tell a KB/mouse player by the way they move, like how they can change direction instantly and "dance in place" and how their aim with EMs while running is impeccable.
Anyway, I need some suggestions on games - preferably free to play or with trial version. I cannot play FPS games like Fortenite or Valorant and have never been fond of racing or sports games. It's one of the reasons I stick to mech games - because I cannot keep up with the fast movement. Mech Arena pretty much is the "fastest" game I can deal with.
I do like hack'em / slash'em RPG games like Diablo over turn based RPG games like Final Fantasy. I'm tempted to try Mechwarrior Online but the last time I did, I got instantly frustrated at how complicated the controls were.
Any thoughts and ideas?

Never heard of it...I'll look it up. What kind of game is it? It's a strategy, army builder, but it's set in space. Not what you asked for, I know, but very attractive and it plays quite well.

Koalabear I know I'm 2 months late, but what do you think of Eternium? It's originally a mobile game but I believe it's on PC too. Free to play. cough*warrobotsfrontiers*cough
