I sometimes run my level 9 carnage with two level 8 thunders and I struggle almost everytime. I also run two level 8 Zeus and do much better. Want to buy another carnage and rum both but not until I can figure out what I'm doing wrong???

I generally don't engage until 200m. Thinking I need to get a lot closer??

Try ambushinhg at <100M, whatever you're shooting at should take only 3-4 buckshots before it drops. Don't Proc Rush until you have your target's attention, it's harder for them to hit you if you go from 40kmph to 66kmph if you make that push while they are aiming at you. Always try to get back into cover before rush wears off.

If you're patient with the ole glass cannon he will serve you well. I love my carnage thunder and expect at least 3 kills from him. Take it slow and lurk in the shadows, when it's time (<200 m), rush but not dead center but to one side especially if engaging a shielded bot. Also, level those thunders up to at least 10.

The biggest thing to remember about the carnage is that he's an ambush bot, not an assault bot. Despite your shield, cover is your greatest friend. I've recently been using the carnage on android, and I'm doing pretty well with it. I would suggest keeping your weaps two levels above your bot as well.

Your Carnage level is too high, and your Thunders are too weak.
Level the Thunders to lvl10 and try again. And you will love it.
Basically you need to be very patient when the Carnage Thunder, just hang around, hide until your Rush ability cools down, and when your opponent is sick of waiting for you and shifts his focus else where, that's when you pounce.

If you have not watched Stew Pendous' Carnage tutorial, do check it out. It's excellent.

From my experiences at being killed by thunder carnage, sub 150m is good enough. They will die if they don't have shields. Bes if side stabbing. Bam bam bam dead.

Any other good loadouts on a carnage besides thunders? I think 2 zenits might be good.

I have a level 3 Carnage with level 6 Thunders. I find going from regular light/medium bots at 3/6 to a 3/6 Carnage puts me up against people with multiple gold/WSP bots and weapon levels 9-10. Also with missles everywhere, the shield is always gone before I am in position. Plus it seems there is only 2-3 maps running it isn't a complete liability. Any advice? I kinda regret making this my first WSP bit purchase.

I say that because to do close range damage you have to open yourself up to a lot of damage and the HP is just soooo loooow. Level 9 is on the upper range of HP and the shield can absorb a good bit of rocket fire... and your base speed (not Rushing) is high enough to not drive you crazy. I have a level 6 Carnage and only use lvl 8 Tridents and Zeus on it at this point since I can stay away and still cause damage. It is great for a mobile midrange support bot. I can have a few good games with thunders, but at this level, it's just too fragile. YMMV.

I'd go with Tricky. Carnage at level 6 /8 thunders takes too long to chew down a heavys health bar. With two Tridents he makes a decent midranger that can relocate quickly and shield your team.
I'll try Thunders again when the bot reaches level 9...

I got a Carnage out of a pumpkin in the last event, and playing around with it at the 3-4 / 6-7 medium area basically showed that it was a liability - having it in the lineup lead to tougher matches and it didn't bring enough to the table to compensate. I did find it useful in clan battles where my hangar wasn't the one really dictating things. I think this is one where you need to go level to 6+ / 8+ in order to make good use of it.

I have only recently begun to really appreciate the carnage but only as a trident platform. 6/8 seems to be the lowest end of its effectiveness window, and it can be very useful. IMO it seems a much better support bot than a knife fighter, but better pilots higher in tier than me can use the thunder version effectively it seems. I think the carnage was only meant to shine at the highest tiers. It demands a lot of patience and skill, but rewards those who unlock its potential.

So essentially dual trident for a carnage in training and dual thunders once you know what you're doing?

So essentially dual trident for a carnage in training and dual thunders once you know what you're doing? They both serve different roles. The trident carnage is a decent midrange bot, and the thunder carnage is one of the highest damage dealing bots in the game when piloted correctly. Use the carnage like the thunder schutze, except the carnage has a very useful rush ability and an ancile shield to take some hits from missiles so it doesn't go down quite as easily.

Thanks for the replies! I think I need better balance in my hanger or 5 slots before I regularly run the Carnage. With the Carnage as my only WSP bot, I don't have the follow up bots to compete against the better equipped hangers I am facing. Watching the posted videos helped.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that there's a stiff penalty in the MM for the Carnage because it's a WSP bot. It'll pop you up a tier or two, which explains the overweight Reds you're fighting.

It's practically common knowledge now that WSP bots will give you a penalty, and the penalty is barely noticeable anymore if your bots are past 4/9. Tiers are virtually meaningless past low silver because all the tiers above low silver can and will be mixed, even especially mid silver with top (Strangely, 6/6 gets far worse matches than 7/8-9). If your bots are around 9/8 like the OP mentioned, you will generally get the same opponents regardless if you have WSP bots. If you are at that level and have a WSP bot lying around, might as well use it.
