There are currently 11 bots with the "team player" individual task. Question is, which weapon produces the desired result of wounding the reds rather than going for the kill? Sucks that you can't earn the award in CPC because I'd have them done already.

Anything sustained fire should be good. I think the main problem is getting something that can also get the kills when you need them. Miniguns and I'd imagine Grav Beams would be best, but I haven't really used GBs myself yet.
One nice trick is to run a sustained fire build in team matches, as your human teammates will finish off everything before you can, and also keep anything from attacking you. I really like Miniguns for that, because you can just spray the entire field. And in a 4-5 person team, I'll often get most if not all the Collaborator awards when facing bots. I'd imagine Pulse Cannons would do the same at lower SP levels. Stasis Beams could be a solid choice too.

It never fails that whatever I go with the map ends up being the exact opposite of what I need it to be. 🤣

GBs are pretty good for the Assist tasks but depends a lot on what levels your GBs are at vs your opponents. Tanks take a bit of killing with GBs so they are good targets. I find that after Implosion, they are left with a sliver of HP and you can safely let a team mate finish it off. Smaller mechs tend to die though. RMs are good too these days since it's getting harder to get an outright kill with them. Stasis Beams were my favourite for Assist cause they take FOREVER to kill anything and applying stasis on a target makes it easier for a team mate to apply la coup de grace.
Other than those, yah, any other sustained weapon would do the trick. CBs should be ok for this since it's hard to outright kill anything with them now.
